The caramel coloured dragoness purred with joy as her bond found that annoying itch right behind her eye ridges. It had been poking at her since she landed in the sands!

You are definately the one for me, Terra.

The aged dwarf chuckled softly, a deep mirth sparkling in her dark eyes. For once, not a trace of her familiar frown was present as she gazed down at the shimmering hide of her dragoness. Her bond! "Just because I c'n scratch an itch, lass?"

No! Calionapyth turned and pounced on Terra, her stubby tail wagging back and forth like a playful kitten. Because only you are strong enough to fly with me! I will be the fastest, most daring flyer up there!

The strong announcement unsettled the land-bound dwarf only for an instant. Flying would be a must and she had to get used to it. "Aye..." Terra hesitantly patted Cali's caramel coloured head. "Aye, you will be." She wrapped a more firm grasp around her bond and hugged the hatchling lovingly. They sat together on the feeding grounds, among the first to get to the food. Thus, while others were still eating, Cali and Terra spent their time admiring the other hatchlings. Only three others like Cali had been born in this clutch. Meaning they were the only duo-winged Pernese dragons in existance... so far. Cali had plans for the future.

"Congratulations." A cheerful and oddly calm voice spoke from behind them. Terra whirled immediately, nearly losing her balance in the knee-deep snow. Mystic chuckled softly, her golden hair dotted with flakes of white fluff. Even the dark red of her dress sparkled and danced with snowdrops as they swirled in the sunny afternoon air.

"Eh lass, I suppose I should thank ye for bringing me here." Terra grinned and winked. "But my arse is freezing and I still say this white stuff is hell."

Mystic laughed and knelt down to embrace the sturdy dwarf. She then turned and gazed down at the duo-winged beauty behind her. "You've done well for yourself, Terra. I hope you won't mind joining one of the new wings when you come home." The red mage looked questioningly at Terra, watching the play of emotions on her face.

"Maybe, lass. We'll see, won't we? I still want that job at the forge. Dwarves belong underground."

Dragons belong in the air. A firm voice bespoke them, directed from the towering bulk of Senorith. Cali rumbled a respectful hello to one of the dragonesses she considered her mother.

"You promised!" Terra scowled, feeling her end of the bargain was done and it was time for Senorith to pay up. "Now I've stood and impressed and you have te talk to Dungar."

I will. I will. Senorith chuckled, lowering her head for a scratch from Mystic. But for now, Myia and I want to go home. It's cold and neither of us are used to snow.

"We'll see you soon then." Mystic patted Senorith's muzzle twice before stepping aside so the dragoness could leave.

Good bye and good luck. Senorith spoke as she turned to go. Myia waited a short distance away where a place had been clearing for the giant gold-white to take off. When the now calm queen had disappeared between, Terra turned back to Mystic with a suspicious look.

"So how long am I stayin' in this 'winter wonderland'?"

"Long enough for Cali to reach adulthood." Mystic returned with a michevious grin. "Three years at least."

"Three years?!" The dwarf sputtered for words. Her rage was cut short though as a sloppy, wet snowball hit her smack in the shoulder. Mystic laughed and ducked quickly, avoiding another missle from Aaron. The blue rider had taken the oppertunity of their little chat to form a hill of snowballs and was currently firing them off at a rapid pace. Already, many others had started their own snowball fights. The fights were quickly escalating into a war and as Terra dove behind a snow bank, cursing all the while, Cali took off to help her siblings in their own war. Everyone (including the foul-tempered dwarf) would be dripping wet and chilled to the bone before the snowballs stopped firing. That would take a while.
