Riddles in the Dark

Gollum: Bilbo:
What has roots as nobody sees, MOUNTAIN
Is taller than trees
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?
Thirty white horses on a red hill, TEETH
First they champ,
Then they stamp,
Then they stand still.
Voiceless it cries, WIND
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.
An eye in a blue face SUN on DAISIES
Saw an eye in a green face.
"That eye is like to this eye"
Said the first eye,
"But in low place
Not in high place."
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, DARK
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
A box without hinges, key, or lid, EGG
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.
Alive without breath, FISH
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.
No legs lay on one leg,
two legs sat near on three legs,
four legs got some.
This thing all things devours: TIME
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.
What have I got in my pocket?

My Riddles:

Oak and hazel are my aunts,
   though I am not their kin;
my cousin grows upon the vine;
   I often have a twin.
My shape is like the shifting sands
   contained within a glass;
no feet, no hands, instead a shell,
   I dwell beneath the grass
PEANUT

Green may change to golden glow;
To some it stands for life,
and links the children, man and wife;
As above, so below.
