Robin Hood Strikes.

After attending countless tournaments, and smashing many arrows in the process. Hitting the boss flag-post at 100yds and the net support rails at a height of around 25 ft, Kevin has finally attained  the 'Once is enough' desired, 'Robin Hood'.
Fortunately it occurred on a night when he happened to have a camera with him, although he brought the arrows back for a re-take the next week, because indoor photo's aren't very good on that particular camera. So thanks to Mike for the digital copy.
Kevin says, "It's a great feeling getting it, but I thought it was just a nice tight group from the angle I saw it, and didn't believe my clubmates when they said it was a 'Robin Hood', until we went up to score. Thankfully it was in the 10 too, so even better." Then came the realisation of another trip to Crick, for some new arrows. Get measuring Graham, I'm on the way.

I spoke too soon though, as my second arrow today (13th Feb) went smack into the first one. Hence 2
Robin Hoods in three weeks, getting boring now, back to Crick for some more arrows. That must be       worth a discount Graham? I'm on the way.

                                                      Club growing in strength slowly.

We are pleased to welcome three new members to the club, with a further two to join shortly.
Two of our new members, and one joining us in September have just completed their Leader Certificates, and are continuing their personal shooting progress while waiting to unleash  their new found skills teaching any future new members. We welcome them all to the bent stick brigade, and look forward to them progressing well.

                                                            New G.N.A.S. Fee rise.
Due to the recently announced rise in Annual subscription by GNAS, we are having to raise our Club subscriptions to cover this cost.  (WAA failed to raise their fees as expected, due to failure of a quorum at the AGM). The subscription covers all affiliations as well as hire of the school gym and is therefore quite reasonable compared to some others. Our fees are therefore now £60 per annum commencing September 2002 + a  weekly target fee of £2.00. Target fee has risen due to an increase in the cost of hall hire. Full details on Club details page.
                                                                New Club Coach.
Congratulations to Kevin on his Coach award  following a six month course. 1 of five new coaches joining the ranks of the W.A.A.C.G. within Glamorgan. The other new coaches along with Kevin on the course are; from Neath Archers (1), Coleshill Archers (1) and, Carmarthen Archers (2).
Many thanks to Les and the County Coaching Team for the tuition (and coffee).
All 12 candidates on the recent Leader course run by Glamorgan Coaching group, on which Kevin assisted, were successful in passing their assessments. Many of them are going on to join various clubs in the region. (3 to Penarth)
