July 1999, visit to Grand Marais

My sister, brother-in-law, nephew, my dog, and I all drove up to Grand Marais for a few days in July, 1999. These are the photos of our trip.
I didn't take any pictures of town because by the time we spent any time there, it was raining. It was nice to see that it is pretty much the same, and still there.

We did not climb down to the Lake Superior shore because we KNEW how long it would take to get back up.

Sable Falls, where we used to wash our hair
Sable Falls is different every year. You really have to stand in it to get the best pictures.

These lilies are near the location Marian Bell's garden, where I saw my first hummingbird as a little girl.
I look pretty happy. These are Lilium philidelphicum, the prairie lily. My brother-in-law took this picture. Nice to be on the other side of the camera for a change! I sure look like a Welshwoman.
