List for Life

This list is a work in progress. It is an attempt to find morality and common sense in the modern world

1. Do not believe everything you hear.
2. Do not believe everything you read.
3. Seeing is NOT believing.
4. Perception is rarely colored by reality.
5. Honesty is not always the best policy.
6. You will reap what you sow.
7. Truth is stronger than fiction, though fiction is more quickly believed.
8. Prayerful thought is far more important that thoughtful prayer.
9. Might is seldom right.
10. The power of persuasion is the power of evil over goodness.
11. If things are as they appear, why is there so much confusion?
12. There is no substitute for careful, deliberate and clear contemplation of your life.
13. Think about what you say before you say it; sticks and stones break bones, but words can break spirits.
14. Love without reserve; love fully, deeply and truly, without condition.
15. Remember to love your friends, male and female, and tell them that you do. Love breeds love.
16. Love multiplies each and every time it is divided.
17. It is not how much one is loved that is the measure of their being, it is rather, how much they love.
18. Measure wealth by what you have to give from your heart.
19. Good people do not finish last; they are just doing the speed limit and obeying the traffic signals. They arrive at their destination whole and on time.
20. To thyself be true for there is no one else to live your life for you.
21. When you are right, you are right; when you are wrong, you are wrong. Neither prevails when it ought to, but both should be kept to one's self
22. Conspicuous consumption is conspicuous selfishness. Live simply so that others may simply live.
23. Take care of your own first. Family before self; relations before strangers. If we would all do this, with a great deal of care, fewer would do without.
24. If you aren't yourself, if you do not hear your own drummer, who will do it for you?
25. Do not make decisions for others, do not live through others and do not pontificate.
26. Parenthood is not for everyone and "everyone" should think it through, but not "everyone" should do it.
27. Playing in the sun and watching shooting stars is entertainment; sex is not.
