The DragonRose Introduction
Greetings! This is where I tell you where, how, and why DragonRose started, as well as the little information tidbits I keep in my own mind whenever creating these Dragons and the Webpage. Please sit back, grab a cup of Joe, and enjoy the reading material.
WARNING!: No.. just kidding. There is nothing to worry about. :) However.. I do have to mention that this story may be only half real, and mostly imaginary. I am creating a make-believe situation in which I would have ACTUALLY started this Adoption Agency, had Dragons still lived in this day and time. :) It may be a bit of reading.. but it's all worth your time if you want to know a little bit of "history" behind the DragonRose Adoption Agency and it's Dragons. Thank you! :)
The History of DragonRoses Opening:
DragonRose was created over many restless Nights and Mornings during the Months of September, and October of the year 2000. DragonRose finally opened it's Adoption Doors on October 21st, and we had actually received TWO Adoptions that DAY. Since then we have received up to 10 Adoptions per week, and had been happily keeping up with our quickly growing Dragons. Until one faithful day when our Home Planet, Crosswinds, was attacked by the "Gods and Goddesses" that watch over it. The Gods/esses were trying to make the world bigger and better, whenever something went wrong, and the world rejected their attempts! During the process of trying to make the World submit to their Godly ways, the Adoption Agency and many other places in our world where completely destroyed. Whenever the Gods/esses had finally tamed the wild world, and made it liveable and much improved, many people had to completely re-build their homes from scratch. We just happened to be a part of those people. We began rebuilding our Adoption Agency, and bying a LOT of insurance in case this ever happened again. Thankfully NO dragons were harmed in this disaster.. only the human who takes care of them.. Shadow Rose.. was damaged in any way.
Down the Road a bit
DragonRose grew and grew, until it had 30 adopted dragons under it's belt. There were 4 wild clutches found, and quite a few of the Adult dragons were begining to bond. 3 of those Adult Pairs even had had clutches of their own! Then Shadow Rose got very sick, and some of the dragons stopped growing... everybody was distrought.. and had no idea what to do! Then.. it got worse. The Gods and Goddesses of Crosswinds decided that they were going to improve the world AGAIN. Everything seemed to be going fine, until the world decided that it wasn't going to take abuse like that again!! It shook, and it rumbled, and buildings feel to the ground. DragonRose was turned to dust, and everyone feared for the eggs still within. Shadow Rose dug threw the dust the covered the land, trying to find the eggs that were still incubating deep in the DragonRose Mountains. She was still very ill, but she needed to find her Dragons, and move them off of this unpredictable planet! Finally... after many days of searching and digging, Shadow Rose found ALL of the eggs, and they were miraculously unharmed! Shadow Rose gathered each and every egg up, and put them all onto the nearest transportation pad. **ZOOM**, **WISH**, They were off to find a new home. Finally, after several days of looking, they came accross the world called 150m. It was a strange name for a planet, but it was a poor planet, so what could you expect? It was much much smaller than Crosswinds, but it seemed to be better put together. The Gods and Goddesses of this planet seemed to be kind, and the planet seemed to enjoy having people living on it much more. Shadow Rose decided that this would be DragonRose's new home. Shadow Rose and her helpers rolled up their sleeves again, and began the task of rebuilding the Dragon Rose Mountains. Thanks to that insurance we bought whenever Crosswinds buckled in anger the first time, DragonRose was up and running much sooner than last time. Within 2 weeks DragonRose's doors were opened, and many of the Dragons had began growning again in that time! Everyone was happy that the Doors were open again, and New Adoptions soon Sky Rocketed! Peace was found in DragonRose once again.
Where we got our Dragons
Whenever DragonRose Adoptions first started, it was because we had had a moment of luck, and just happened to stumble upon a nest of wild Dragon Eggs. The mother had been killed by a very large Crocodilian, and was being eaten by a group of them on the beach not 100 feet away. Thus the baby nest had been abandoned. As the mother had just been killed hours before, the eggs were not yet in any form of peril. However, if they were not turned, and kept warm during the night they could very possibly die over night. So what more were we to do? As Dragons are by no means small creatures, we had to get several of our other Adopted friends to help us. This included my own personal Dragons, and Pegasi, and without them we would have been lost. We also took a very large amount of the sand from the beach that the dragon eggs were nested upon. Soon we had filled the bottom of the entire cave in the Mountain I own with the sun warmed sand, and had placed the rather large clutch of about 21 eggs in the middle of the new "Hatching Grounds", under a very large mirror that pulls sunlight in from outside of the mountain, and places it directly over the Hatching Grounds. We turned the eggs faithfully, waiting to see if they would survive the week. As the eggs began hardening, and growing as they should be, we opened are Agency up for Adoption, and people started filing in for the Eggs. Soon after finding the first Nest, we decided to try looking up and down the beaches for more abandoned Nests. As the known survival rate for Dragons in the wild is 5 out of 20, we knew that there had to be at least a couple out there. To our dissapointment, we found many abandoned nests that had already been devoured by scavengers. But finally, on our second week of searching, we found another large clutch of 14 eggs, that had been abandoned by their mother due to hunters being in the area. Dragon body parts are VERY valuable these days, and a Dragon knows when to run! So we took this clutch back to our Hatching grounds, and added them to our already sunning Dragon Eggs.
I hoped you enjoyed our short, but long history so far! Now please go visit the actuality of this story, and drop in to the Adopted Dragons to see our first and second clutches prospering and living in perfect health! :)
