Pain
is the thing these poems have in common
curled up around my pain
hiding from the world
inside the void that once was me
taste of ashes on my tounge
stones in my mouth
screams in my throat
darkness
limbus
insanity
I saw the pain in you
and set you free
watching you walk away
broke my heart
you looked as if you
carried the world
on your shoulders
As I watch you walk away
Your back turned for the last time
I remember
We used to be friends
And our hands were joined in spirit
Across the gap of physical distance
And all I ever wanted
Was to see you smile
Laugh
Be happy
But all I did
Thinking that you needed me
was give you pain and tears
I paved my own road
To hell
With all my good intentions
