Desperation Move / Limit Break: Dark Eternal - Tapping into the ultimate power of chaos, Cardigan can create a powerful vacuum around his foes that drains all light energy from the surrounding area and concentrates it into a crushing and burning force in an area of his choosing. This attack leaves Cardigan momentarily weakened, and he must recharge his magical power to cast more spells.

Likes: Nature, eating fruit, studying magic, reading, blowing up things, and most of all, money.
Dislikes: Most other black mages, authority, working for free, children, small talk
Personality: Normally keeps quiet and to himself and his studies. He can often be found sitting under an apple tree in Mysidia, and most people there know it is best to walk on by without saying a word. When spoken to, he replies if he feels like it, most often sarcastically. Even when he works with a team, he dislikes small talk, preferring to get the job done and make his money so he can buy more magical items and books to study. If angered, however, Cardigan is a fierce opponent and quietly destroys what his mission requires.
Background Information: Cardigan's origin is a mystery to everyone. He showed up at Mysidia as a young boy, presumed to be about five years old. The Mysidian elder took him in, though he knew something was not quite right about the boy even at that age. Cardigan showed great intelligence for his age, and he already knew basic black magic before any lesson was taught. As his teachers tried to show him how to improve, he constantly went against their teachings to learn things his own way. The strange thing is, he seemed to make more progress than most of the other students despite going against his instructors' teachings. At the age of about 16, Cardigan decided he no longer needed school, saying he had found the true source of magical power and could tap into it at will. Unlike many other black mages, Cardigan does not need to chant or use any spell components whatsoever. He seems to have a natural affinity with magic and can cast a spell of his choosing by simply wishing it to be so, although he has yet to gain the ability to use the more powerful spells. Since leaving the black mage school, he has wanndered around the world hiring himself out as a mercenary. Many throughout the various cities and towns of the world have heard the name Cardigan, and he now expects good pay to accept any mission. He often is found lost in thought, and nobody knows exactly what he is doing. However, Cardigan knows that he is growing more attuned to the force that is magic, growing more powerful.
How did you come up with your character? OR
Why did you choose to play this character?
I came up with this character as part of a Final Fantasy fanfic that I had intended to write, but I never got around to it. I used this character in another rpg to develop him. Cardigan is a darker, less cute version of the classic black mage with a new twist. His magical abilities come from a natural affinity to the force of magic rather than traditional study.
