Meanwhile in
another place…
“The storm
is interfering with the transporters. I
can only beam up two at a time.”
“Understood.
Beam up the others first.” Janeway
let out a deep breath. Her
impatience ran high from being tired. The
eight-hour day she just finished felt like eight days.
The away team’s success seemed to be a small consolation at this point.
Exhaustion crawled over her dusty form, causing her to wonder how much
longer she could stand waiting for a beam out.
The welcome tingling on the transporter covered her body and she smiled.
Seconds
later, she found herself on the transporter pad.
As she stepped down, she noticed the two crewmen.
“The replicators
down again, boys?”
“Yes, Ma’am.
How did you know?” He seemed puzzled by her deduction.
She rolled her
eyes. It was so easy to figure out.
“Those uniforms. Deliver this to the bridge, my shift was over an hour ago.”
She handed a PADD to one of the men and walked away before she could get
a reply.
Looking forward to
a long hot shower, her pace increased slightly.
She felt as if she five pounds of dirt and grim covered her.
Kathryn’s mind wandered, daydreaming of her shower, as she walked down
the corridor towards her quarters. Home
at last, she told herself as she stood in front of her door, punching in her
access code. The annoying sound
bleeped at her. The sound indicated
that access was denied. I
must be more tired than I thought. She
entered it again. The computer
chirped again. All
I want is a shower!
“Computer, override authorization
Janeway Alpha Zero Saturn One”
She was
stunned when she entered. All of Chakotay’s personal belongings were in her quarters.
He definitely went too far now. That
man needs to stop collecting all this junk.
I’m not about to let him use my quarters as his storage unit.
But she would deal with him later right now she needed to get clean.
She quickly made her way to the bathroom, undressed and stepped in the
shower. A few minutes later she
began to feel human again. Her
muscles relaxed and as the dust and sweat washed away, so did her anger.
“Thank you,
Mr. Daniels.” Chakotay smiled as
he read over the away team report. Now
that he knew the Captain was safely back on Voyager he felt comfortable leaving
the bridge. He’d grab a bite to eat and head back to his quarters.
“Tuvok, you
have the bridge.”
Kathryn
turned the shower off completely and wrapped a warm towel around her body as she
stepped out. She knew she should
report the away team’s success to Chakotay, but she felt much too weary.
She’d take a nap first, and then meet up with him later.
She threw on a shirt and snuggled into bed. Just an hour and she’d be refreshed again.
Chakotay
entered his bedroom and the sight he saw stunned him.
In his quarters, in his bed, in his shirt was Captain Janeway. He was
entranced by the vision of her. He
actually stopped breathing for a moment when he noticed the twisted covers had
risen over her waist, giving the beautiful view of her bare legs and thighs.
If that weren’t enough to drive him mad, his shirt had inched its way
up her body leaving a tiny peek at the crest of her bottom. Spirits, if I could only see this every night when I came home, he
thought. He let out a deep breath in
appreciation. The noise caused her
to stir and he froze, not knowing how to react.
She stretched and the covers thankfully fell back over her bottom and
legs. She smiled at him lazily.
“Did you miss me?” she asked as she rose from the bed and stood directly in front of him. Before he could reply, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her lips, kissing him. He became drunk as her tongue gently caressed the inside of his mouth. There was no rational thought left in him and he returned the kiss passionately. Red alert went up when he felt his passions taking form in the lower region of his body. He quickly broke off the kiss and stepped back, hoping she wouldn’t detect anything.
