ALR Removal

Several development companies have petitioned the ALR(Agricultural Land Reserve) board to have 40 acres removed for development interests. The companies intend to set up housing and a small industrial center. This would create more jobs for the some parts of the economy, but would also put several small local farmers out of business. We would also have to begin to import more food from abroad, thus increasing the cost of food.
