Father Ted : the project

Basically, our project for the school year 2001-2002 was only to prepare a show for May, but before the success of the first presentation meeting of the Dramafreaks (and in particular among the ERASMUS students), it seemed to us that it would be a pity not to do anything with the foreign students who stayed at the university of Pau for one semester only. That is why we decided to prepare a stage adaptation of the Irish series Father Ted. The project was achieved two months later, in December, with three successful performances : one on Wednesday, December 12th at the dancing room of the Halle des Sports, another one on Thursday, December 13th in the Patio of the Fac de Lettres and the last one on Wednesday, December 19th in the Hall Duboué of the Fac de Sciences. The project gathered 15 students from France, Great Britain, the USA and Russia. We took this opportunity to "test" our potential audience for our next project of "Rock N'Roll Night" by performing an extract from Grease ("Summer Nights"), which was a real success and which literally aroused the audience's enthusiasm. This success makes us confident as far as our next project is concerned.
