Give it on up, now, for the Drama Posse...

How To Get Your Stuff On The Site...

Option 1 : Send it as an e-mail attachment to dramastuff@yahoo.com

This may sound horribly daunting to some of you, but it's
not, honestly (cross m'heart and hope to be sent to a failing
comprehensive in Tower Hamlets... Brrr..!). If you've got your own
dedicated e-mail software at home (Outlook, Pegasus or similar)
then I guess you'll probably be happy enough with using attachments.
If you're new(ish) to the whole thing and are using web-based e-mail,
then the following might be helpful :

If you're using Yahoo! mail, then go to 'Compose' on the
left-hand navigation bar, type 'dramastuff@yahoo.com' into the
'To :' box, any of your own helpful explanatory notes into the main
message box, then click on 'Edit Attachments' (which is in the bottom
right-hand corner). If your browser's posh enough, a new, slightly more
scary-looking window should appear... press the 'Browse...' button, then
find the file you want to attach in the relevent directory of your harddrive.
Double-click it... and and you should be returned to the previous window.
Cool. Now... Press the 'Attach File' button. After a few moments, the
filename should appear in the wee box below. Double cool..! If you're
attaching any more files (up to a maxium of 3...), then repeat the above
process, otherwise go to the bottom button ('Done') and press it.
You should then be returned to your main e-mail window... whereupon
you can press 'Send' to have the whole thing - your e-mail plus
attachments - whizzed off into the ether to the dramastuff mailbox. Sorted..!

If you're using Hotmail, then go to 'Compose' on
the top toolbar, type 'dramastuff@yahoo.com' into the 'To :' box, any of
your own helpful explanatory notes into the main message box, then
click on the 'Attachments' button (which is located above the 'To :' box).
You'll get a new window; press the 'Browse...' button, then find the file
you want to attach in the relevent directory of your harddrive.
Double-click it... and and you should be returned to the previous window.
Press the 'Attach To Message' button - after a short pause, the filename should
appear in the wee 'Message Attachments' box at the bottom of the screen.
Go back to the 'Browse...' button if you want to attach any more files, otherwise
press the 'Done' button, and find yourself back at the main e-mail page.
Press 'Send', and the whole thing - your e-mail plus attachments - will be whisked
off into the ether to the dramastuff mailbox. Hee hee..!

Option 2 : Give the files to me on a floppydisk, and I'll do the rest.

Just a couple of wee notes :

File formats - I assume that most people will be using Microsoft Word
on a PC. If so, for greatest compatibility, then it'd be handy if you saved any
submissions for the site in Word 6/95 format. Rich Text Format is also fine.
If you're using a Mac, then if you save something in text format or as one of the
older MacWrite or Word formats, then I can convert it to PC format at home, but...
well, it'd be easier if it was a normal PC file in the first place. Finally, try to do
small filenames without spaces in them, preferably with a standard file extension
(.doc or .rtf or whatever), so that I don't have to change them when putting them on the site.

File sizes - Yahoo! give us 15mb of webbyspace, which is jolly nice
of them, and should be fine for our purposes... but we'll obviously get more files
up there if they're small rather than large... so, if you've a file with lots of graphics
in it, then try to use as much compression as you can when sending it in.
If detail's not vitally important, JPEG will squeeze things down nice and
tight... Mmmmm... squeezy...
