Q: Where did the name Bigg Mic D come from? Bigg Mic D: My real is Michael Dodson,and a lot of people growing up called me Mike. later on they started calling me Mike D, well there is already a Mike D in the music bussiness so i call myself Bigg Mic D. Q: How was Bigg Mic D formed? Bigg Mic D: In 1997 my first born died at birth. I set down and tried to right something of a poem about him and it basically tuned into a song. from then on I've been writing and recording or trying to do something with music Q: How long has Bigg Mic D been around? Bigg Mic D: I have always loved music. Like I said I wrote my first song in 1997, but i didn't start recording until 2004 Q: In your opinion what song is your best song and why? Bigg Mic D: Lonely Mother Griefing. Because of the amount of time it took to write and how I wrote it. I feel like this song is like a four minute story. Q: What is your favorite song to play live and why? Bigg Mic D: Country Boys. The crowed gets into I personally get more from people likeing one of my songs and showing it rather than being paid to do it. Q: If you could have one of your song played to any one person, who would it be and why? Bigg Mic D: Probaly Tears In heaven, I would like Eric Clapton to hear and tell what he thinks of it Q: Who writes the majority of your songs? Bigg Mic D: I write all of my own songs Q: What would you say to someone who has never heard your music before? How would you describe your music? Bigg Mic D: Id give them information on where to go...... to hear it. I would tell them that I try to keep my music about real life, all of it the good and the bad. Q: How can our readers hear your music and where can we go to buy it? Bigg Mic D: www.myspace.com/bigmicd and no its not for sale anywhere yet. Q: When can we expect new music from Bigg Mic D? Bigg Mic D: Im in the process of rerecording everything to get the best sound I can. I don't have an actual date right now but check my myspace page for updates Q: Who inspired you to become a musician? Bigg Mic D: I like the singers from back in the day. Ottis Redding, Temptations however I don't like the way I sing so I rap my songs. Q: What do you like best about being a musician? Bigg Mic D: The feeling I get when I show my songs to people. Q: If you weren't a musician what would you like to be? Bigg Mic D: I would like to still have something to do with music, a producer, or promoter or something. Q: What advice would you give a young musician who is trying to break into the business? Bigg Mic D: Keep your head up, you will get 100 no's before you get your first yes Q: Will there be any music videos made? Bigg Mic D: Im in the process of that right now also, again I don't have a date for that either. Q: It's your dream concert. You can play anywhere in the world with any artist or band past or present, alive or dead. Where would you perform and with whom? Bigg Mic D: Tennessee probaly in Tullahoma, Hank Williams Jr. would be the one I'd pick to be there with me. That'd be one Hell of show there. Q: Speaking of concerts. Does Bigg Mic D have any pre-show rituals to get amped up for their shows? Bigg Mic D: Yes, a few shots of whiskey and go through my songs Q: Do you have any upcoming shows you would like to tell us about? | What up peoples, this ya boy Bigg Mic D. I've resently been giving the opurtunity to over see the Hip-Hop section of the NVAAZION e-magazine. The first issue I'll just be telling a little bit about myself. In future issues however I will be interviewing other undergound, unsigned or independantly signed Hip-Hop artist in what I call "The Run Down" found below. I will also be putting up a "Bigg Mic Ds Top 5". It will be my personal favorites of underground Hip-Hop songs. Each artist or group I post on here will be listed with their contact information.
