- Food for Thought
I heard this interesting story which made me ponder for quite a bit. I would just like to share it, even though the thought may seem clichéd for some, I believe its worth repeating. It goes like this:
There was once a man at the age of 20 who just finished from college. He was young, high spirited and optimistic. He didn’t think much of himself but instead, he had great dreams and thought of changing the world with all its negativity. And so, he prayed. He implored and asked for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change the world. He continued this for ten years. Unfortunately, nothing happened. At the age of 30, he thought that maybe to change the world was a task too great. So, he revised his prayer and instead, prayed asking for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change his nation with all the graft and corruption He continued this for ten years. Unfortunately, nothing happened again. So, at the age of 40, he thought that maybe to change his country was another task too great. So, he once again revised his prayer and instead, prayed asking for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change his province. He continued this yet again for another ten years. At the age of 50, he thought that maybe to change his province was another task too great. So, he yet again revised his prayer and instead, prayed asking for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change his neighborhood. He, then, at the age of 60, also ended up empty handed. So, at the age of 70, he once more changed his prayer and instead, prayed asking for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change his family. Another ten years passed and he once more ended up empty handed. So, finally, at the age of 80, he prayed asking for God’s help to give him the strength and determination to change himself. Then, after ten more years, when he was already 90 years old, he finally saw some changes in his family. They were more loving and united. Then, he thought, if only he started by changing himself at the age of 20, if only he started by being a better person from the start, then maybe, he would have ended changing the world at the age of 90. : )

- Dream
From the darkness, I realized myself amidst the vast ocean, floating recklessly on a raft. I was in it with two other survivors, strangers to my weary eyes. Then, suddenly, a massive galleon arrived, trusting through the water with its crew throwing a rope as an aid to accept us in. I had only realized later that they were recruiting us to be realized as pirates. An old man with a mustache, shaped like horns of a ram, started to walk cautiously towards us. He was carrying in his right arm, a dusty old book. When he opened the book, there was a catalog of blades skillfully sketched with the weapons names carefully etched at the bottom of each illustration in old English calligraphy. In the list were pictures ranging from axes to katanas. There were even ivory daggers and golden scythes, almost every imaginable blade created. I was about to select the blade of my choice, when I rose to the familiar echoing sound of my alarm clock. With heavy eyes and a body that felt deprived of its comfort, I fell back to bed to reminisce the tale.
- Weather
Its been a gloomy day. The sun lays hidden in the clouds away from sight. Rain drops fall lazily from the skies. The smell of wet earth fills the air. And yet of all the people and places, raindrops manage to fall on my nose. Whats the probability of that? And yet from the rain reduced to a drizzle, I managed to get only my nose wet. That sucked.
