Death and Dying
So, you've created a character! Good. Now,
lets talk about losing that character, just to scare you into taking
safety measures.
Death
Players killed in this game, a rare occurrence, are dead. Just
gone. I don't care about your life's philosophy, there are simply no
Magic Lamps, Dragonballs or powerful spells that can bring a player
back from the afterlife. Fortunately, medicine is very advanced in
this game, so this should not be a common thing.
Cocooning
When a character is struck below a level at which they can further
fight (HP 0 or less, a crucial stat below 20, etc) and have not been
Instantly Killed (decapitated, blown to bits, etc), they will collape
and Cocoon. Cocooning is a desperate measure where a character will
slow their heart beat, calm their minds and cast Elixi until they are
rescued. If their Elixi is high enough or if they are aided, a
Cocooning player could potentially stand back up before the scenario
ends. However, Cocooning is a desperate, defenceless state.
Characters cannot react and can be easily be struck down for good by
a malicious enemy. Thanks to Cocooning, really powerful (11th College
- see the details in the Member's Section) Elixi users can never die
perminantely if they are not instantly killed.
Creatures of Honour
During Formal tournaments and challenges, Deious races prefer not
to kill their opponents, they prefer to let the loser live with the
fact. For this reason, a formal match will usually be ended before
either combatant has died. However, combat can continue until one
player has been reduced to 0 HP - this does not mean that they have
died. Also, the races in this game will not strike a helpless player
in Formal combat.
Real Threats
A combatant fighting for their life will often pull from reserves
of stamina that defy logic. If fighting in a life or death battle, a
combatant can continue to fight for Const * 20 damage under 0, though
their stats will be halved, Blood Loss Rate will double, Elementals
may not take on Shade/Light form and Holographics... well, they ran
out of energy at 200. If a player is in a Life or Death situation,
they will still Cocoon after they reach this magic negative number.
If they survive, regen time will Triple.
