Life in the 21st Century

As man pushes onward through the ages,
He glances back and smiles
“Look at all that we have done,” he thinks
“We’ve conquered miles!”

Now in this life of easy living
We must dig deep down
To find the things which matter
Things of consequence profound

We think back on our progress
And get a great big grin
But what things have we really changed
Since our entrance in

The world was once far greener
The air was once less dense
The waters were filled up with ocean life
The natural cycles made sense

People died, but not of stress
Deadlines were not there
Time was the same but work was less
Life was simpler everywhere

In today’s world of high speed connections
Simple happiness is hard to find
We look at our lives and think what we’ve done
And ignore the disease of our minds
