Time

Tick tock goes the clock
As life begins its trip
Tick tock, time goes on
And older each one gets

Time is non-existent,
Time is everywhere
Time begins a journey
With as little as a care

For in the grander scheme of things
The ones that matter don’t
And when looked at from far away
The lives that should live won't

For still the time keeps marching on
In never-ending step
It cares but none for what it kills
Or what deceit it's wrept

The time continues day and night
It goes throughout the morn
The time remains unceasing still
As now blows loud the horn

Will it chance that none remains the same?
Can it be that no one cares?
Is it truth that all will die some day
Their soul and mind elsewheres?

Questions, oft they come to me
While answers oft are none
This process leaves me great quandary
Confusion by the ton

And all the while, the time ticks on
Without a skip of beat
For all this time and not a one
Has sped life’s steady feet

...

Tick tock, goes the clock
As time continues on
Tick tock, seconds knock
And knock until you’re gone
