JUNGLE CRUISE

Review from November 2002 by Deirdre Sargent:
The Jungle Cruise is a good stand-by. I prefer the original Disneyland ride as they only have one river. Here at WDW you go from the Amazon to the Congo to the Nile to the Mekong Delta (gee and I didn’t even get jet lag) encountering animatronic animals along the way. They don’t shoot at the hippos and our guide was a Paula Poundstone look-alike but not as funny. Shudder. The Guides make or break this ride.   Disney has been cracking down on Guides ad libing away from the script.  The problem is that the script is stupid.  The ad libs are what make this ride great.  Without the mini comedy club thang, it's just a cool water ride where you can rest your aching feet.

I give this ride a B+ with a funny ad-libbing guide and a C+ without one.

Kid Grade (G): Suitable for all ages.  Not objectionable with the Beaver Cleaver script.  The ad libs are never "blue" but may be a touch irreverent.  In most cases the referances go right over small childrens heads.
