Note: All A ratings were given to superior gourmet food. A+’s were only given to food that actually made us make noises of joy. In my roommates’ case, anything that made her cry (in a good way) got an A+. Above average, very respectable food received B ratings. C’s were average food that was a cut above McDonalds. D ratings are of the processed, fast food variety and F’s are things that I would not feed my dog.
SERVER - Order from a cashier and pick up your food at a window.
Rotisserie Chicken $7.00 w/ tax = $8.47 (C+)
Fried Chicken $7.99 and orange juice $2.39 w/ tax = $11.01 (C+)
Grilled Chicken/Swiss and Ham Sandwich $6.99 (C+)
NOTES: Currently this is supposedly one of
the best places to eat in the park. I really should have re-read my old food reviews. I gave this place a C+ last time also. Next time, I will try Pizzasaurous or Flame Tree. I suppose it beats Donalds Restaurantasourus (sponsored by McDonalds). While we only snacked there (Donalds), it took 25 MINUTES just to get a cup of coffee and a lemon bar. THAT is supposed to be fast food?!
Flame Tree BBQ was closed when we were there. Perhaps a better sit-down place in Asia is called for. All the food in this park is pretty pedestrian. Even Disneyland and their wasteland of food beat this.
NOISE LEVEL – Moderate but not bad at all. The tables are fairly spaced and the room is large.
COST - Moderate $$
This was a half chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. The chicken was moist and tender. There was a great deal of food for the price. However, the dark beef gravy with the mashed potatoes was a strange choice. It was too strong
and overpowering for the meat or the small portion of potatoes. I would have given this dish a solid B but the gravy lowered it to a B-. The vegetables (green beans, carrots and mushrooms) were the item that sank this ship. They were so salty you could hardly eat them. Also there were only 3 slices of mushroom in mine so it was mostly beans and carrots.
“The spices on the chicken were surprisingly tasty but the vegetables were so salty that I couldn’t eat them. I was surprised that they had beef gravy instead of chicken gravy.” In response to my observation in regards to the three kinds of vegetables my roommate replied, “There were suppose to be mushrooms?”
It was a decent cut of chicken and a large amount of food. OK for park fare but not spectacular. No uber salty veggies with this sandwich. I was servicable. I looked for the prime rib sandwich I saw mentioned in one of the guidebooks (Perlmans I believe) but it wasn't there.
