Hello, We would like to thank you
for taking time to read this letter. We also would like
to thank you up front for choosing life for the child you
are carrying. We know that you are in a situation that
was perhaps unplanned and one you wish you could change.
We, too, are in such a situation. You see we have longed
to become parents and have achieved pregnancy twice. Both
pregnancies were very much wanted and planned but
God’s Plan was bigger and we lost our pregnancies
through miscarriages. We have tried the high tech
expensive routes to achieve a subsequent pregnancy but
have been told that due to medical reasons we need to
“give up, move on and accept it.” So we are
hopeful that through adoption we can become parents.
Perhaps we can help each other through this time and both
come to the happy ending that we all so desire.

We
have begun our journey into the world of adoption after 6
years of infertility and treatment. We know that this
journey will bring us closer and that if we are blessed
with a child we will feel complete as a real family. We
have completed the Home Study Process with Shore Adoption
Services, Inc. located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

| Jeff
was born on May 1, 1965. He is 35 years old. Andrea was
born on June 17, 1967, she is 33. We have known each
other for eleven years and have been married since April
10, 1993. We are very devoted to our marriage and to each
other. We learned this devotion and love from our
parents. Jeff's parents have been married for 51 years.
Andrea's parents have been married for 40 years. We have
a lot of love to share and are eager to have a child to
love. |

We both
attended the same university, Christopher Newport
University in Newport News, Virginia. Andrea earned her
B.A. degree in Elementary Education with a minor in
Psychology in 1989.
Jeffery
earned his B.S. degree in Information Sciences with a
minor in Business Administration in 1988.

| We both
have good paying jobs and enjoy working outside the home.
Andrea is a Kindergarten teacher. Jeff is an Computer
Application Developer with The College of William and
Mary. |
|
|
We
love animals and nature so we are planning to build a
larger home on three acres of wooded land that we own. We
love the country, the mountains and the beach. We both
enjoy gardening and yard work so this will be a perfect
setting for us! |
|
|
|
We
love listening to music of all types and surely will
teach a child to appreciate a wide variety of music.
Andrea played clarinet for many years in high school.
Music has a way to calm the soul. We enjoy reading and
can't wait to read to our children. Since Andrea teaches,
she gets lots of practice at school and we both read to
our nephews, Stephen and Thomas. |
| Jeff's
interests include: computers, yard care, cooking,
"general tinkering" and Nascar. Andrea loves to
write poetry and keep journals. She also enjoys: crafts,
sewing, gardening, counted cross-stitch, stamping,
scrapbooking and takes an active role with supporting her
school.
Jeff and
Andrea are both active members of her school's PTA.
Andrea also enjoys participating in an early childhood
council, reading coucil and the local education
association.

We
have a very close family and enjoy being with our
extended families. All of our parents are alive and
healthy . We know they would definitely shower a child
with love and cherish being grandparents to another
child. Jeff has an older sister who lives out of state.
She has encouraged us to add to our family. Our niece is
16 and our nephew is 13. We don’t let distance keep
us apart too much and see them as often as their schedule
allows. We have traveled to see our niece compete in
sporting events and are very proud of these two young
adults. Andrea also has an older sister that
lives nearby. Many weekends are spent at
“Grandma’s House” so that we can visit
with Mom and Dad but also so that we can spoil our
nephews that are 8 and 5 years old. The boys loved to
wrestle with Uncle Jeffery and we enjoy keeping them over
night when we can. Andrea's sister and brother-in-law are
also aunt and uncle to an adoptive child on her
brother-in-law’s side of the family. Our 8 year old
nephew,Stephen, has been eager for us to “just
adopt” for many years now! Andrea and her sister are
very close and are close friends not just family!
We have
enjoyed family vacations with both sides of our families
and know that our families are very eager to have another
child to love and nurture.

| We
also love to spend time with our friends. Many of our
friends have small children. Several of these children
are being raised to call us “auntie” and
“uncle” because those friendships are so deep. |
|
|
We
have everything we want nice families, nice friends, nice
home, nice jobs, nice pets, and nice cars. Our lives are
full of much joy but we are missing only one thing ~ a
child. We want more than anything to have the opportunity
to parent and show a child our unconditional love. Our
lives would be enriched even more if we had a child. |
| We
know that you have a lot to think about. We would love to
meet with you, if that is what you desire. Or if you are
more comfortable, we could exchange information over the
telephone or through letters and pictures. If you
select us as parents, we would be happy to send you
pictures and letters to let you know what the child is
doing at each age. We would even consider a more open
relationship if that is something you would like. This is
something we would have to discuss more in depth. We want
to respect your privacy and the life you have ahead of
you. Only you can decide what type of adoption is right
for you and your child. To have chosen life for your
child is a wonderful gift and to place your child with an
adoptive family would be a tremendous selfless act that
we would never take for granted. We honor your choice and
honor you for your strength and courage. |

have completed our home study. We also have selected Gary
Allison as our lawyer to assist us and make sure that
everything is legal. We are willing to assist you
financially with your medical expenses. Other financial
needs can be discussed. Everything must be done within
the limitations of the Virginia laws. Please know that
