Chapter 15 The next day, all the people went over to Kang Ta's house to "see" Celeste. When they went to Kang Ta's house, they found out that Kang Ta was sleeping in the living room and letting Celeste sleep in his room that night (chilhyun1979: >.< poor oppa). "You slept in the living room last night?" Hee Jun asked as he walked into Kang Ta's house. Kang Ta nodded. "You could've at least call one of us and come over or something like that," Tony suggested. "I don't want to leave her alone," Kang Ta said as he looked at his room where Celeste was sleeping in with a smile. Everyone glanced at one another. Then, the doorbell rang again. Kang Ta went over and found Grace there. "Good morning oppa!" Grace said with a smile. Kang Ta smiled. "Good morning," Kang Ta answered back. Grace then noticed the pillow and the blankets in the living room and she turned to look at Kang Ta. "You slept in the living room last night?" Grace asked with a frown. Kang Ta nodded. Then, the people suddenly heard a loud thump from Kang Ta's room. "Celeste…Celeste!" Kang Ta then ran into his room. The people followed him and found Celeste on the floor. She tripped over something in Kang Ta's room. "Are…are you ok?" Kang Ta asked Celeste as he looked around to see if she was hurt. "It's ok," Celeste answered as she forced a smile to come to her lips. "No…There's something wrong. Tell me," Kang Ta said. "No…really…there's nothing wrong," Celeste continued. People could clearly see that she was hurt somewhere. "Why don't you ever tell me?" Kang Ta asked. "Really…I didn't hurt myself," Celeste replied. "Why don’t you ever tell me your problems? Why do you always have to make me make you tell me, Sharon!? Why!? Why don't you ever just tell me without me asking!?" Kang Ta cried out hysterically as he pulled Celeste into his arms. The people looked at one another. "Sharon?" Celeste asked. Kang Ta then pushed Celeste gently out of his arms and looked at her. He had forgotten that she was Celeste…not Sharon… "Sorry," Kang Ta said as he got up and went into the bathroom. *********************************************** He couldn't get her out of her mind. He wondered if he ever could. The way that Celeste wouldn't tell him her problems…It reminded the way that he made Sharon tell him what happened when she was younger… He know that he was selfish in that he wanted to use Celeste as a replacement for Sharon…but he couldn't help it. Kang Ta went over to the sink and splashed some cold water over his face and looked at his reflection in the mirror. "Kang Ta…Ahn Chil Hyun…She's gone from your life…No matter what you do…She probably would never come back to your side anymore…It was your fault…It was your fault…You hear me…Your fault! You choose not to believe her…You choose not to keep her from leaving you…You choose to deny her innocence…You did it…You were the one who made this the end…The end…the end to everything and the beginning…the beginning of the pain in my…heart…" he said to his reflection as the tears came down again. He cried so much after she left that he couldn't even keep count of how many times he did. Everything reminded him of her…but he didn't want to lose even the memories of her…It doesn't matter how much it hurted him…he wanted to keep them…No one can ever take them away from him… *********************************************** Kang Ta walked out of the bathroom after about twenty minutes and went to his room. He helped Celeste up to the bed and sat next to her. "Just tell me if you got hurt, ok?" Kang Ta said gently to Celeste. "I…I just hurted my ankle," Celeste answered. She didn't want him to go hysterical again. "I didn't want you to get annoyed with me…" "It doesn't matter. I won't get annoyed with you," Kang Ta answered. "The most important thing is that you got hurt." Celeste smiled. "I'll take you to the doctor, ok?" Celeste nodded but after a few seconds, she shook her head. "I don't want to bother you," Celeste said. "You're not bothering me," Kang Ta said. "Then…ok," Celeste answered. *********************************************** "He still likes Sharon, right?" Jae Won asked after Kang Ta took Celeste to the doctor. They were still in Kang Ta's house. "Obviously, Wonnie," Fae said. "You heard him cried out her name." "That means that Celeste really is just a replacement of Sharon for him," Jae Won said. "Didn't we already get that conclusion at the beginning?" Chibi asked with one of her eyebrows raised. Jae Won blushed. "I'm just saying that it proves that what we believed are true," Jae Won said. Chibi nodded. "What are we going to do now? We can't just let this go on and on," Christina said with a worried expression. Hee Jun patted her hand. "We'll think of a way," Hee Jun answered. *********************************************** "Sorry!" Lami said to the person that she bumped into as the other person said the same thing. She looked up and saw Dong Wan. She then blushed. Ever since what Celeste said they hardly talked anymore. They were out to buy stuff for the people back at Hee Jun's house (most meetings are in Hee Jun's house). "Um…I got the water…Did you get the other stuff?" Dong Wan asked uncomfortably as he shifted his weight from one feet to another a few times. Stand still already, man, Lami thought in her head. "Yeah," Lami answered. She then walked to the line to get ready to pay for the stuff. When they got to the cashier (Dong Wan was right behind her), Dong Wan wanted to pay but Lami didn't allow it. "I'm paying for the stuff that I got." "No. I am," Dong Wan said immediately. This went on for about five minutes already. "I have money," Lami said stubbornly. "I know you do, but I'm a guy," Dong Wan answered back. Finally, the cashier could not stand it anymore. "Why don't you just let your boyfriend pay the bill, then go out and try to figure out who would pay the bill so I can get the money and go on to the next person!?" the cashier said. Lami and Dong Wan looked - more like a glare though - at the cashier and then they both blushed. Finally, they left the store with Dong Wan paying the bill. "It was all your fault," Lami said when the got out of the store and got into Dong Wan's car. "Sure whatever you say," Dong Wan said as he started to pull the car out and got on the road. "I don't feel like arguing today, so stop it." Lami looked at him and then sat there without saying anything. *********************************************** "So that's how we are going to do this," Brian said. "Are you sure?" Christah asked. "I mean, would Kang Ta and Celeste fall for it?" "Kang Ta, definitely but I'm more worried about Celeste," Fany said. The other people nodded. "If she really is Sharon, or at least another killer, she would be a pretty smart girl," Hye Sung said. "Think about it this way, we are only trying to test out if she's blind or not," Brian said. "If she doesn't fall for it, she would be more careful about us the next time," Eric said. "I suggest that we wait for the reports from Gina." "You think that we can wait that long? Last time, Sharon just came for less than a month and we have dangers of being bombed," Brian said. "True, but what about your friend? Wouldn't he or she know about it?" Jun Jin asked. "After a few failures, they don't tell other members when they are doing stuff," Brian answered. "So…that's what we are going to do?" Andy asked. "The plan?" Brian looked at him. "It depends on what these people thinks about it," Brian replied. "We could try but if we fail, we could have a possibility of three people after us," Hee Jun said. The people know what he means. "The first is that if Celeste is really a killer, she would go after all of us," Audrey said. "The second is that Kang Ta would be so angry at us that there's a possibility that he just runs off with Celeste," Min Woo continued. "And three, Woo Hyuk would be angry and runs off also," Dong Wan said. Then he looked at Chibi and said. "We forgot a fourth person." Everyone looked at him. "Wouldn't Chibi run off with him?" The people laughed. Chibi threatened to punch him. "So the plan it is?" Christina asked the people. They took a vote and the majority of the people voted yes. "So the plan it is," Hee Jun said. *********************************************** Chapter 16 "It depends on Celeste," Kang Ta said as he held on the Celeste's hand. The people were at Kang Ta's house again. "It depends on you, Kang Ta oppa, because I'm living in your place so you should make the decisions," Celeste said. "I don't own you," Kang Ta said with a short laugh. He looked as if some of his happiness returned to him after he met Celeste. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Kang Ta went to open the door. It was the mailman. He said that there was a note that must be immediately looked at. Kang Ta thanked him and closed the door. Without returning to his seat, he opened the letter. The people looked at him when he was reading the letter. His expression suddenly turned pale. "Kang Ta oppa?" Celeste asked. He didn't reply. "Kang Ta, what happened?" Hee Jun asked. Kang Ta suddenly looked up, ran into the bathroom, and locked the door. The people, of course, went after him. They started to knock on the door but there were no replied except the water that was running now. *********************************************** Inside the bathroom. Kang Ta kept looking at the letter after he splashed his face with cold water to make sure that he was not dreaming. The letter simply said one word, but it stirred up all of his emotions at once… *********************************************** After a pretty long period of time, Kang Ta finally came out of the bathroom. "What happened, Hyung?" Jae Won asked. Kang Ta didn't answer him. "Hee Jun Hyung…" Kang Ta said. Hee Jun looked at him. "Except for the people here…Nobody knows about the relationship between Sharon and I, right?" Hee Jun looked at him weirdly and nodded his head. "Only if you excluded Sharon," Hee Jun answered. Kang Ta looked as if he was in the trance. "Why did you ask?" Tony asked. "Don't tell me that that letter was from Sharon," Hee Jun said. "I would not believe that because she left on her own will and you remember the letter that she sent you two months ago, right?" Kang Ta turned his head, looked at Hee Jun, and slowly nodded his head. *********************************************** Two months ago. "Kang Ta! She's not going to come back anymore! Even if she is, do you think that she wants to see you like this?" Hee Jun yelled as he tried to stop Kang Ta from drinking. Kang Ta looked at him fiercely. "She's going to come back!" Kang Ta yelled back. "I know she is! She would not leave me like this!" "Stop lying to yourself!" Hee Jun said. "I won't believe that she would leave me unless she tells me herself in some way!" Kang Ta said. As if it was a nightmare come true, the doorbell rang and it was the mailman. He sent a letter without a return address except for the name of the sender. Kang Ta stared at the name. "To: Kang Ta. From: Sharon." Kang Ta immediately opened the letter. "To: Kang Ta. I'm sorry to say that I can't and I don't want to stay anymore. My only choice is to write to you, instead of confronting you face to face. I really do love you. Trust me for once, ok? But I feel that I must leave. Tell Mr. Lee to look for someone else to take my place and that I really do thank him but I failed in what I had promised in the contract. I'll try to get the money back to him as soon as possible. I hope that you, Kang Ta, would find someone who truly loves you and I hope that you would love that someone also. I knew from the beginning that this relationship would not work out. I really did love the few days that we have spent together as a couple. That would be the treasure of my lifetime. Find someone who deserves you more than I do. I really don't deserve you. Live a happy life. At least for me… Sharon" It was really her. He recognized her handwriting. "No…Sharon…Don't do this to me…" Kang Ta whispered. "DON'T DO THIS TO ME!!!!!!!" Kang Ta yelled, regardless of the fact that the other members of H.O.T. were there. *********************************************** Kang Ta then got up. Hee Jun got up also. "Kang Ta…Don't you know that all of us are worried about you?" Hee Jun asked. Kang Ta nodded. "I'm sorry, Hyung. I'm trying. I really am," Kang Ta said with a painful smile. All the other people looked at him. "Just give me some more time." "That's what you told us two months ago," Hee Jun said. Kang Ta looked at him and sighed. "Can you take Celeste outside for a walk? She should get some fresh air," Kang Ta said. "I want to be alone for a few minutes." Hee Jun then reluctantly nodded. "Oppa…" Celeste called out. Kang Ta looked at her. She was like Sharon in every way…the looks and the voice…but she still isn't Sharon… "Don't worry. They won't harm you," Kang Ta said with a smile. Celeste then lowered her head and nodded. *********************************************** Kang Ta was sitting at the corner of his room with the door to his room locked. He was staring at the letter that Sharon had mailed to him two months ago. "Sharon, can you tell me if this one is by you?" Kang Ta asked as he held up the other letter that was mailed to him earlier. He then sighed. It seemed as if his tears and sighs were endless. The letter that was mailed to him earlier was not handwritten. It was a typed letter of only one word. "Cheater…Is that what I am?" Kang Ta asked himself as the tears came down again. "To who? To you or to Celeste?…I'm still thinking about you…Even if I kept Celeste by my side…I'm still thinking of you… Do you think that I'm cheating on you? I didn't cheat on Celeste…I never told her anything…I just told her to stay next to me…You think that I want to?" The tears continue to come down. *********************************************** Shin Ji looked as the people from SM came out of the Kang Ta's house with a satisfied smile because she saw that Kang Ta was not with them but Celeste was and each of them had a worried expression. Then, she returned to her car and drove back to where she was living. Suddenly, her cell phone rang. "Hello?" Shin Ji asked. "Shin Ji?" a female's voice answered. "Hey Mushi! What's up?" Shin Ji asked. "Nothing," Mushi answered. "Where did you go?" "No where," Shin Ji answered with a mischievous smile. "Yeah sure," Mushi replied. "And Tiffany is not shy at all." "To her friends, in other words us, she's not that much. Why are you asking?" Shin Ji asked. "Because the three of us here already know where you are," Mushi answered. "You went to sent Kang Ta the note didn't you?" "What do you think?" Shin Ji asked as she steered the steering wheel around the corner with one hand and with the other hand held the phone. "We knew it! You really enjoy seeing him suffer, right?" Mushi answered. "Not really," Shin Ji answered. "Whatever," Mushi replied. Suddenly, the voice changed as another girl grabbed the phone from Mushi. "Shin Ji!?" the female on the other side of the phone asked. "Yeah Tiff?" Shin Ji asked. "I think you better come back quick! She's getting angry," Tiffany answered on the other side of the phone. "Really?" Shin Ji questioned. "I'm not kidding," Tiffany answered. "Oh yeah! You really sent the note to Kang Ta?" "Yeah," Shin Ji answered. "Too bad I didn't see his expression." "True," Tiffany answered. "But you shouldn't have done that. Are you sure that you won't get in trouble?" "What kind of trouble would I get just sending him a note with the word 'Cheater' on it?" Shin Ji asked as she rolled her eyes. "…I don't know," Tiffany answered. "Just come back quickly." "Sure," Shin Ji answered. Then, she hung up the phone as she continued to drive. *********************************************** Chapter 17 "Jae Won?" Fae asked as she sat next to him. Jae Won had already sat in that chair stared at the wall in his kitchen for over an hour already. Fae, as usual, went over to his house after they left the SM building. Jae Won finally snapped back. "Fae," Jae Won said with a smile. He then pulled her on to his laps. "Yes, love?" Fae looked at him with a worried expression. "What's the matter, Jae Won?" Fae asked. "Why are you asking?" Jae Won asked as he continued to look at her face. He understands how Kang Ta feels. He had a feeling that if something like that happened to him…He shivered a little at the thought of ever losing Fae. He would not let that happen, he vows to himself. "You stared at the wall for over an hour already," Fae answered as she touched his gently. Jae Won sighed and looked at the wall again. "I'm just wondering if the plan tomorrow would work out," Jae Won answered. He then turned to look at her again. Fae nodded. "I know what you mean," Fae said as she, too, sighed. "If Celeste is really Sharon, I could tell you that Sharon is not a stupid girl." "I know," Jae Won answered. "Especially if she's from the Messengers of Death she must be really smart." "Are we really going to try the plan tomorrow?" Fae asked. Jae Won nodded. "What if the plan doesn't work? Like what if Celeste finds out about it? "Brian said that if it doesn't work, he has another plan to try if she really is a killer," Jae Won answered. "I wonder what it is…It's going to be pretty heartbreaking for Woo Hyuk and Kang Ta if she's really a killer or Sharon," Fae said. *********************************************** The music was blasting loud as Woo Hyuk danced in the dancing room. He was either so absorbed into the dancing or what he's thinking about, or the music was too loud that he didn't hear Chibi walk into the room. "Woo Hyuk," Chibi called out. Woo Hyuk stopped dancing and looked at her. He then walked over to the radio and turned the music off. "Yes, Chibi?" Woo Hyuk asked. "You seem to have a lot of things on your mind," Chibi said after a moment of hesitation. She really didn't know how to say what she has to say to him. Woo Hyuk stopped for a minute and then nodded. "Because of Celeste?" Woo Hyuk looked at her and then nodded again. "You know how much she looks like Sharon," Woo Hyuk answered. "Sharon's my sister." "I know," Chibi answered as the two of them sat on the floor. "Do you really pretend to yourself that Celeste is Sharon, so you treat her like your sister?" Woo Hyuk didn't know what to say. "I guess," Woo Hyuk answered. "I feel as if I knew her before." "You do?" Chibi asked. Woo Hyuk nodded. "Woo Hyuk…" Woo Hyuk looked at her, as if signaling her to continue. Chibi then stopped before she continued again, "…what would you do if Celeste is from the Messengers of Death also which means she's a killer also or if she's Sharon?" Woo Hyuk sat there for a few minutes as if in shock and then returned back to normal before he answered. "I don't know," Woo Hyuk replied with a sigh. Chibi looked at him. *********************************************** "Tony…" Audrey called out as Tony drove her home. "Yes?" Tony asked. "What would you people do if Celeste really is Sharon or someone from the Messengers of Death?" Audrey asked. Silence for about a few minutes before Tony answered. "Brian is thinking about getting the police on her," Tony answered. "No!" Audrey cried out. Tony looked at her. Audrey then calmed herself down before she continued. "You know how I'm her friend for so many years. She really is a nice person. She never harmed anything let alone anyone." "She's a killer though," Tony said. He then looked at her for a second and then added, "At least, there's suspicion that she is." Audrey looked at him. "Do you really believe that she is?" Audrey asked. "I don't know what to tell you," Tony answered. *********************************************** "Why do I have to buy all the foods?" Hee Jun growled as he picked up the bags of chips from the shelf to the cart. Christina and Hee Jun were in the supermarket buying things for the party tomorrow. "Because you eat most of it," Christina answered. "No~ You do!" Hee Jun said. "Yeah whatever. I remember who finished off the whole pizza before the rest of the people even started to touch it," Christina answered with a smirk. Hee Jun then sighed. Christina looked at him and guessed half about what he was thinking about. "Thinking about what would happen tomorrow?" Hee Jun nodded as he looked ahead of him blankly. "I'm worried about you girls, Kang Ta, and Woo Hyuk," Hee Jun answered. "Why us girls?" Christina asked. "You should understand the most why. You people were such good friends with Sharon," Hee Jun replied. Christina knows that he was talking about the possibility that Celeste was Sharon. Christina shook her head. "She's not Sharon," Christina answered. Hee Jun looked at her. "Sharon has a gold necklace with a gold pendant on it; she doesn't." "She could take it off," Hee Jun said. Christina shook her head again. "Sharon would never take that off," Christina answered. "Her mother gave it to her. She loves that more than she loves her life. She wouldn't even sell that pendant when she was at the poorest point of her life." *********************************************** "You should go to sleep earlier for the party tomorrow," Kang Ta told Celeste as he helped her into the living room. The tv was already on. "It's okay," Celeste answered with her usual sweet smile. "I'm use to being up late." Kang Ta smiled gently. "That's not good for you," Kang Ta said. "What about you? You sleep less than I do," Celeste said. Kang Ta shook his head and decided to change the subject. "What did you do at home today?" Kang Ta asked as he went over to get two cups of water for the two of them. "Hm…I stayed at home and listened to the sounds from outside for a while and then turned on your stereo," Celeste answered. "You actually found it?" Kang Ta asked, surprised. Celeste smiled again. "I was here for a period of time already," Celeste answered. Kang Ta nodded. "Oh," Kang Ta answered. Suddenly, the news on tv came on. "Today, the body of a dead female was found in a street. The face had been ruined and therefore cannot be determined the identity. On the neck, there was gold pendant that is shown to the right of the screen. Would anyone that might have the possibility of knowing the owner of this pendant please report it to the police office by phone or in person. Thank you." The only thing that was heard in the living room of Kang Ta's house was the shattering of glass. *********************************************** |
