She’s never let you down before, why is this so different.” (Somewhere in the city.) “Where to?” “Here.” Ally said to the cab driver as she handed him a piece of paper with an address written on it. (Dance Hall) “Another day…” Minwoo said to Hyesung as they walked towards the audition room. “Aww… come on, I know it’s been hard and all but look on the bright side. This time we’re the ones on the other end of the stage. Besides, remember we volunteered to do this.” “I know Hyesung, I know. I just thought it would be for a day. This is the third day now. Thank god it’s the last. I can’t stand hearing another girl scream in my ear anymore. I’m gonna go home and sleep after this.” Minwoo says to Hyesung as they sit in the audition room. “So where’s Eric and the others? They said they’d be back in 10 minutes, it’s been 15. If I have to sit through this, they have to also.” “Oh now come on, my little Minwoo is acting like a little baby. Let mommy Hyesung kiss all of his worries away.” Hyesung leaned closer to Minwoo trying to kiss Minwoo who got up from his seat to get away from the embarrassment. “Yo! Minwoo, Hyesung!” Jin calls to them as he and the rest of the guys walk towards them. “Getting a little action I see.” “Shut up Jin. Where have you guys been? You’re late.” Minwoo says to them in an angry tone. “What? Don’t be so moody now Minwoo. Besides it was Eric’s fault.” Dongwan says to Minwoo. “What! I gotta look good don’t I? Wouldn’t want to disappoint my fans.” “Come on you guys, let’s be serious now. These are talented dancers, we gotta be serious about this. There’s no time to joke around.” Hyesung says to the guys as they sit and wait for the auditions to start. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Chapter 2~ ~Just one breath of your hair, Just one kiss on your lips… Just one hug, Means more than livin’ forever without…~ ~Shinhwa~ ‘Nothing’ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (In front of the dance hall.) “Here it is.” “Thank you.” Ally says to the cab driver as she pays him and steps out of the cab. “I bet she’s all worried by now. That girl has got to stop thinking negative.” Ally says to herself as she walks up the steps leading to the front door. (In the dance hall.) “I’ll be right back.” “Where you going Minwoo?” Hyesung asks. “Gotta go and grab more evaluation sheets. How are we suppose to evaluate if we don’t have any. I’ll be back.” Minwoo says as he walks out of the audition room. Ally walks into the dance hall to find herself among a bunch of young people. “Wow, there’s a lot of people.” Minwoo is walking back to the audition room with the evaluation sheets just as a girl in a rush runs and bumps into him causing him to fall and drop all the sheets everywhere. The girl in a hurry doesn’t look back to see what she caused and runs out of the door. Ally sees what happened and walks towards Minwoo while helping him pick up the sheets. “Great! Just great! What else can go wrong?” He says to himself while getting up. “Some people can be so rude.” Ally says to him. Minwoo gets up to see who is talking to him. As he stands up his eyes meet Ally’s. “Here you go.” Ally says to him as she hands him the sheets from the floor. “Thanks.” He replies to her. ‘She’s really cute.’ He thinks to himself as he picks up the rest of the sheets. “So are you here for the audition?” Ally asks Minwoo who just finished picking up the last sheet from the floor. “Umm… you can say that. And you? Are you here for the audition?” He says to her as he tries not to stare into her eyes. “Oh me, no. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like to dance, but my passion is somewhere else. I’m just here to cheer one of my friend. She’s really nervous so I told her I’d come and support her.” “Ah, what’s her name?” He asks her as they walk towards the audition room. “It’s Amy, Hyung Amy. Do you know her?” “Sorry I don’t but maybe she’s in the audition room.” Minwoo and Ally enter the audition room. Ally looks around and spots Amy who has an angry look on her face. Amy spots Ally and waves for her to come down onto the stage. “Oh there she is. Well it was nice meeting you umm… I’m sorry I don’t know your name.” “Minwoo, Lee Minwoo. And yours?” “It’s Ally, Kim Ally. Well it was nice to meet you Minwoo.” Ally goes down to meet Amy who is already yelling at her. “Where have you been? I actually believed that you we’re gonna show up. You got me worked up for nothing.” “Amy, my little Amy. Always worried for the wrong reasons. Have I ever let you down? If I say I’ll be there than I’ll be there. Besides, I would have been here earlier but I ran into a little accident.” “ACCIDENT! Are you hurt? What happened? It’s all my fault! If I didn’t ask you to come you would of never have gotten hurt.” “Amy, Amy. Calm down girl. Just because I say I ran into an accident doesn’t automatically mean I got hurt. Look, sit down and I’ll tell you all about it.” “Hey Minwoo, what took you so long, did you get lost?” Hyesung says to him in a joking manner. “Worst, a girl ran into me and ended up knocking all of these onto the floor. The bad thing about it is that she didn’t even help me pick it up.” “Then who was that girl you were talking to?” Dongwan asks. “Oh that girl. She’s the one who helped me pick them up. Her name’s Ally.” He says with a smile on his face. “Ally huh. She’s cute. Really cute.” Eric says while looking at Ally who’s talking to Amy. “So what happened? Ally, don’t leave me hanging tell me.” “Calm down Amy. I was walking towards the audition room when this girl runs into a guy with papers. She ends up knocking them and him down without even knowing it. Some people can be so rude.” “Yeah, yeah and then what happened?” “I helped him pick them up. And then we came here. Nothing big, and you got worried over nothing.” “That’s it, you picked up his papers and that’s it? No conversation? No name?” “I asked him if he was here for the audition. He asked me the same thing. I told him that I was here to support my crazy friend.” “I’m not crazy. Well, did he introduce himself?” “Yeah, he said his name was Minwoo, Lee Minwoo.” “WHAT! Lee Minwoo! You talked to Lee Minwoo! So that guy you were standing with was Lee Minwoo!” “Yeah! Why, do you know him? Because I asked him if he knew you and he said he didn’t.” “Do I, DO I! It’s Lee Minwoo! Don’t you know who Lee Minwoo is?” “Hello? Second day here in Korea, all the way from America. No I don’t know who he is.” “He’s only the best dancer there is! He’s the one who helps decide if we’re good enough for him to teach. That’s who he is, and you talked to him. I’d kill to talk to him.” “Okay dear, I think I’m gonna put you on decaf. That caffeine is getting to your head. He’s just a person, nothing big. So anyways, how are your moves going?” “I suck, I don’t think I’m gonna try out.” “What do you mean, I did not come all the way from America to see you go home without even trying. Now get up. I’ll help you on your moves. I saw you practice yesterday, I’ve got the routine down.” Ally and Amy got onto the stage. “Now let me see you strut your stuff women.” Ally says to Amy as she puts on the music. Amy shows Ally her dance performance. “So what’s wrong with that? It’s perfect, except that you need to add a little attitude along with that dance.” Ally turned the music back on and showed Amy what she meant. “Hey Minwoo, your girl gotz some nice moves.” Dongwan says to Minwoo who turns to see Ally dance and is suddenly mesmerized by her dancing. “Yeah, she’s even better than you.” Jin says while the others laugh. “Shut up, she’s not my girl. And besides, everyone here is talented.” “Good, I see you’re all here. We can start then.” Mr. Lee says to the guys as they walk down to sit closer to the stage. “Who’s that?” He asks pointing to Ally who’s dancing on the stage. “Oh that, that’s Minwoo’s girl.” Eric says while the other’s laugh. “She is not my girl. Her name is Ally. She’s here to support her friend.” Minwoo responds to Mr. Lee. “Are you sure about that? She’s a really good dancer for just supporting.” Mr. Lee says to the guys as they sit down to start the audition. The auditions begin. Girl after girl, guy after guy come up and perform. Amy is the last one on the list and so she and Ally await patiently. “Look at her, she’s so good. I just know I won’t make it.” Amy whispers to Ally. “Stop thinking negatively, you’re better than she is and you know that. You’re just nervous that’s all. Just breath and you’ll be fine.” Ally says to her while comforting her. “And last but not least, Hyung Amy.” “Oh my gosh, is it my turn already?” “Don’t worry you’ll do fine. I’ll be right here with you. Amy finishes her performance, which goes very well. “Yeah!” Ally yells as she runs up to the stage hugging Amy. “I told you, you could do it.” “Ahem…” The girls turn around to see who it was. “I’m sorry sir, it’s just that she was good, better than good. She was perfect. You gotta take this girl, she won’t disappoint you. I swear.” “Ally, don’t. She doesn’t mean that. You see she’s not from here, she just got here two days ago from America. Don’t pay any attention to her.” Amy says to Mr. Lee. “That’s alright.” Mr. Lee replies. “I sure she’s really proud of you. You should be proud of yourself, you were really good.” “Really, you really think so. Thank you.” Amy says with a smile on her face. “Now what about you?” “Who me?” Ally says. “Yes, you. I saw you dancing earlier. You were better than anyone I’ve seen today. How come you’re not auditioning?” Mr. Lee asks Ally. “Oh, I’m just here for moral support.” “She is a good dancer. Better than I am. It’s just that she’s a better singer. Aren’t you Ally?” Amy says while looking at Ally who’s now regrets getting on the stage. “A singer, really.” Jin says. “Don’t listen to her, she doesn’t know what she’s saying. I’m not all that good. I just sing when I’m cleaning, you know nothing big.” Ally says to the guys as she sends a mean look towards Amy. “Well, let’s hear you sing.” Mr. Lee says to her. “Oh no, that’s okay. I wouldn’t’ want to take anymore of your time. You being very busy and all. I’ll just grab my friend here and go home.” Ally says. “Wait!” The girls stop and turn to the guys again. “Yes.” Ally says. “Since you’ve already taken some of my time I think its only fair that you let me hear you sing. Besides, you are already on the stage.” Trying to think up of an excuse to get out of singing Ally comes up with, “You know what, I don’t think I can sing to you. Seeing it I don’t even know any Korean songs. So maybe some other time.” “Ms. Kim.” Mr. Lee calls to her. “How do you know my name?” “Ah yes, Minwoo here told me about you. Please, you don’t have to sing in Korean. Just sing me something in English. Besides we’re looking for someone who can sing in English. Who knows you might be the one.” “Yeah come on, sing for us.” Minwoo says to Ally while the others beg also. “Alright, alright. If it’ll get me out of here I’ll do it.” Ally says to them regretting coming here now. “Can I just have a minute to see what I’m gonna sing?” “Go ahead, take your time. We’ve got nowhere else to go.” Mr. Lee says to the girls. “Thanks a lot Amy. You just had to open your big mouth. You know I can’t do this. I can’t sing in front of these people. They’re pros, I’m just someone who sings here and there.” “Oh come on Ally, I’ve heard you sing. You’ve got the voice of an angel. Now come on, what song are you gonna sing? They’re waiting.” “I don’t know. I don’t even wanna be here right now.” “Are you ready?” Jin asks the girls who turn around and walk back to the mic. “I guess.” Ally says to them. “So what’s it gonna be?” Mr. Lee asks. “I’ll be singing ‘For Your Love’ by Jessica Simpson.” “Ah, Jessica Simpson. Very talented girl. You may begin whenever you’re ready.” Mr. Lee says to Ally as she cues Amy to turn on the music. ‘What am I doing here. Gosh Amy, you just had to blurt out everything on your mind. I can’t sing in front of these people. I should just run out right now. But then they’d think I was being rude. After what seemed like an endless applause Mr. Lee got up on the stage. “Wow!” He says to Ally as she’s wiping the tears from her eyes. “Bad, you were great. What a powerful voice you have. We can sure use someone like you.” “Really, you think so. Naw… you’re just saying that to make me feel better.” Ally says. “Now, now. I don’t play around when it comes to talent, and talent you do have my dear. Say, why don’t you come in to my office tomorrow and you can sing to the others. I already know you’re in but I just want them to hear you beautiful voice. Say 11:00 tomorrow?” “Oh, I don’t know. I mean, I never really thought about singing as a profession. Besides I’m just here on vacation.” Ally replies to Mr. Lee. “Oh now come on Ally, this is big, you can’t just refuse. Do it. She’ll be there tomorrow, I’ll make sure of that.” “Amy, stop speaking for me.” “Please, think about it. Look here’s my card call me when you decide. I’ll be waiting to hear from you.” Mr. Lee hands her his business card. “Well, my job is done here. Guys, I’ll see you all tomorrow, and I hope to see you too tomorrow. Just think about it Ally. Don’t waste such a talent.” Mr. Lee says to her and walks away. “Are you crazy! What is the matter with you! Ally! Are you listening to me?” Amy was yelling at Ally who seemed to have drifted off. “Ally, Ally! Do you hear me?” Amy says to her as she shakes her. “Huh, what? Oh yeah. Look Amy, I don’t know about this. I need some time to think about it. Besides, I came here to visit you not start my life here.” Ally and Amy were talking not knowing that the guys were still in the room. “You are really something.” The girls turned around in shock that there was still someone in the room with them. “Huh?” “I said you are really something.” Minwoo says to Ally. “Oh, thank you.” Ally replies. “Yeah, we can see why Minwoo here has a thing for you.” Jin says while the others laugh. “Jin shut up. Don’t listen to him, they’ve got it in their minds that you’re my girl or something. I tried explaining that you just helped me pick up some papers.” Minwoo says to her while the others are still laughing. “But really, why aren’t you gonna sing tomorrow? You’ve got a beautiful voice. I don’t get it?” Minwoo asks. “I don’t know. This is all coming too fast. I need some time to think about it.” Ally says to him. Suddenly she fells someone tugging on her arm. “What is it Amy?” Amy whispers into her ear, “Introduce me, please. I’ll be your friend for life.” ‘Amy, such a sweet girl.’ Ally thought to herself. “By the way, this is my friend Amy. You know the girl I told you about. Amy, you probably know Minwoo, seeing as you are a huge fan.” “Hello.” “Hi.” Minwoo says back to Amy. “Nice to meet you Amy. You’re a pretty good dancer too.” “Oh, thank you.” Amy replies with a smile on her face. “Oh, where are my manner, Ally, Amy, these are my friends. This is Hyesung, Eric, Jin, and Dongwan. Hyesung is one of our newest solo artists. You should hear him sing, like an angel. Jin here is one of the choreographers. Eric and Dongwan help compose lyrics.” “Nice to meet you all.” The girls say in unison. “Well we better be leaving.” Ally says to the guys. “Leaving?” “Yeah, don’t you remember Amy, you’ve got that thing you were going to show me.” “Thing what thing, I don’t remember of showing you something? Besides, I wanna stay here and talk more with the guys.” “Amy let’s, go. You know that thing. You were way too nervous that you just forgot.” Ally says to Amy while trying to make a gesture to Amy. “Oh! Oh yeah that thing. So stupid of me to forget, how Could I forget.” “Do you have to leave already?” Minwoo asks. “I’d love to stay but you know I’ve got that thing and Amy gets really angry when we don’t do what she has planned. So well just be leaving. It was nice meeting you all. Maybe I’ll see you around. Bye.” Ally says to Minwoo and the guys as she grabs Amy and the leave. “Hey Ally!” Ally turns around to see who calls her. “Yeah?” “About the singing. Please think about it. I wasn’t lying, you are really good!” “Okay! I’ll think about it! Bye!” The girls go out of the room leaving the guys by themselves. (Amy’s House) “Ally?” “Yeah, what is it.” “What was that all about? You know and I know that we have nothing planned. So why did you leave so quick?” “Look, I just wanted to leave because I didn’t wanna think about this whole singing thing that’s all. It’s crazy, me sing? Look, I’m really tired from all this. It’s late, go to sleep. You’ve got a big day tomorrow.” “What do you mean?” “Look I’m pretty sure you got in. They’re gonna call you up tomorrow and them you’ll be working leaving little old me alone to explore Korea by myself. Now drop the subject. I mean, what if they don’t like me?” “Nonsense child, have you heard yourself singing? How an anyone not like you, your voice is beautiful. So how about it?” Ally thought to herself. “Alright, I’ll be in at 11:00.” “Alright! I’ll see you at 11:00. Until then!” Mr. Lee said and hangs up. ‘Ally what are you thinking?’ She thought to herself. ‘I shouldn’t be all that bad. I mean, Minwoo and his friends thought I was good and they’re in the business. But what if they were just being nice?’ With everything that was going on in her mind, Ally decided to get dress and get breakfast before she went to her audition. Please just have a seat and he’ll be out to meet you.” Ally sat down and started flipping through the stack of magazines that were next to her. “Ah, Ally. You’re here. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long.” “Oh no, I just got here myself.” “So are you ready? They’re waiting for you. I’ve told them about you and they can’t wait to hear you.” “Well, I am a bit nervous. I’ve never actually had someone judge my singing. I guess I know how Amy feels now. Do you really think I have talent?” “Nonsense child, you’re great. Don’t worry, they’re not bad people. They won’t be harsh on you or anything is they don’t like you. But that’s not gonna happen because I know you’ll blow there minds. Well, here we are.” Ally and Mr. Lee walks into a tiny room. She finds herself upon three men and three women in black business suits. “Hello, my name is Ally, Kim Ally.” “This is the girl I was talking about. She’s a little nervous so please so be so harsh on her.” ‘Great, he tells everyone I’m nervous.’ Ally thought to herself as she got up in front of them. “You may begin as soon as you’re ready.” The man in the black suit said to Ally who was now wishing she was back home. The fell silent and Ally began to sing the same song she sang at the dance audition. This time after she finished the room was filled with applause. A smile began forming on her face as the men and women commented her on her beautiful powerful voice. “Mr. Lee was right, we need someone like you here. We can sign you up today if you want. All we need is for you to look over a few papers and we’re all set.” One of the women in the black suit said to her. “Oh my, this is all happening so quick. I do have one problem though.” “What is it Ally?” Mr. Lee said. “I… I don’t know how to read Korean. I get by with speaking it but I never learned how to read or write Korean.” “That’s all, not a problem. We’ve had a few artists who when they first came here didn’t speak Korean at all. We’ll just sign you up for a couple classes and you’ll be able to read and write Korean in no time. So what do you say?” Mr. Lee asks. “Wow, I can’t believe this is actually happening to me. I need so time to think this over. I mean I need to talk this over with my parents.” “Take your time, just don’t take too long. Why don’t we do this, you talk to your parents and get back to me in a month with your answer. Is that alright with you?” Mr. Lee says. “It’s perfect. I’ll be in touch.” Ally says as she walks out of the room to meet Amy. ‘Is this really happening? I just came here to visit Amy for the summer and now my whole life is thrown in front of me. I can’t wait to tell Amy about this.’ Ally thought to herself as she met Amy. “Where have you been? I’ve been waiting here for 10 minutes?” “Sorry Amy, it’s just that I had some business I had to take care of.” “Business, what can be so important that you have to miss 10 minutes of my time?” “Don’t be so mad. I thought you wanted me to do this.” “Do what? OH! You… you… you actually went and auditioned? Why didn’t you tell me! Well, how did you do? Tell me!” “I got in!” “Really that’s great! Such good news! Now we can really celebrate! Did you tell your parents yet? You have time for that latter. Right now we’re gonna celebrate!” “Celebrate what?” A voice from behind asked. The girls turned around to find Eric and the rest of the guys standing behind them. “Oh… h… hi there…” Amy said. “Hey, hello. How have you guys been since we last saw you?” Ally asks. “Oh, we’re still the same. Except for Minwoo here. He’s been really out of it.” Jin says to Ally. “So, what’s to celebrate?” Dongwan asks the girls. “Oh nothing.” Ally replies. “What do you mean nothing? Ally, you got in! You got in! What do you mean there’s nothing to celebrate? I’m taking Ally here out for lunch to celebrate her getting in and also my getting in.” Amy says to the guys. “Great! I’m hungry where to?” Eric said while rubbing his belly. “Huh?” Ally said with a weird look on her face. “Well, you said you were gonna celebrate. So here we are. Now let’s grub. We’re starved.” Jin said, as the guys were getting ready to go. “Alright, let’s go to the Seoul Café.” Amy said as they walked out the door. Amy and Ally got in Amy’s car while the others drove their cars to the Seoul Café. There, the gang got out and sat in the private room. They all sat down looking at the menu waiting for the waiter to take their orders. “Hello and welcome to Seoul Café. So what would you like?” The waiter asked them. They ordered their food and the waiter left. “So Ally, are you gonna sign the contract or not?” “Amy, I don’t know. I told them that I needed some time to think about it. I gotta tell my parents about this whole incident and see what they think.” “Girl you don’t need your parent’s permission. For heaven’s sake you’re an adult now, you’ve been an adult for two years now. All you gotta do is sign the contract and get ready for the ride of a lifetime.” Amy says to her wile sipping her drink. “It’s not as simple as you say it is. Besides, I don’t know if I wanna sing for a living. I’m still exploring my options. Besides, what am I suppose to do with school. I can’t just throw those two years down the drain. I worked my butt off so that my parents wouldn’t have to pay for my schooling.” “Ally, you worry too much about others that you don’t care about yourself. Look at you? Your parents are fine, I’m fine. So stop worrying and sign the contract. What do you guys think? Think Ally should sign the contract?” “Hey, Mr. Lee doesn’t lie when it comes to talent. I really think you ought to sign the contract Ally. Besides, if things don’t work out you can always do something else.” Eric says to her while grubbing on his food. “What about you guys?” “Well we agree with Eric. You’ve got a great voice. Why not do something you’re good at.” Hyesung says as the others agree. “Minwoo, you’ve been awfully quiet. What do you think? Think Ally should jump in the wagon?” Amy asks him. “Actually, I don’t think you guys should be pressuring her so much. If she says she’s not ready, I don’t blame her. I mean there are the good times but it’s also stressful. Look Ally, whatever choice you chose I’m pretty sure it’ll be the right choice.” “Thanks.” Ally replies. “That’s the Minwoo we all know and love. Always coming to the rescue when it comes to a beautiful girl.” Eric says as the other guys laugh. “Whatever Eric. She asked for my opinion. Besides, you gave her yours.” Minwoo responds. Ring… ring… “Hello? Cecil! Hi! I was gonna call you. You’ll never know what happened.” “Ally, are you alone?” “No I’m at Seoul Café with Amy and some friends. Why what’s wrong?” “Look, I have something to tell you but I really think you ought to be alone.” Ally got up from her seat and excused herself from the table. She went into the other private room. The two rooms were connected through a door. You could see what Ally was doing by looking at the windows that divided the two rooms. “Alright, I’m alone. What’s wrong?” “I really don’t know how to say this…” “Come on Cecile. You know me. We’ve been friends since the middle school. Whatever it is I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think.” “Ally… there’s been an accident.” “What? Are you okay? Who?” “I’m fine. Look I just say it right out. This morning at 11:00 there was a terrible accident. Your parents were driving to my house. They had plans with my parents. The thing is they never showed up or at least they showed up but they…” “What is it? Cecile! Tell me! What happened?” Ally screamed into the phone. Amy and the others could now hear the distressed Ally. “I wonder what would cause her to look so distressed?” Dongwan asked Amy. “Cecile, tell me what happened.” “Your parents, God Ally I’m so sorry! It happened so fast, we didn’t even see the truck coming. It slammed into your parents’ car, crushing it into the side of the wall. Your parents, Ally… they’re… They’re dead…” ‘No! I don’t believe this. It’s just a joke, please God tell me it’s just a joke.’ “NO!” Ally cried as she dropped the phone and fainted on the ground. Amy and the guys rushed into the room to see what had happened. “Oh my god! Ally! ALLY! What happened? Wake up!” Amy yelled while holding her. Minwoo saw the phone on the floor and picked it up. “Hello?” “I’m sorry Ally, there were no survivors. I’m so sorry. They’re dead. Your parents are dead…” “Who is this?” Minwoo asked. “My name is Cecil. I’m Ally’s friend. Who is this? And what happened to Ally?” “She fainted. What happened?” “I’m sorry. There was an accident. And… and… I can’t do this anymore.” Cecile started crying. “Please tell her that I have bought her a plane ticket. She’ll be leaving in three days. It’s the soonest I could get. Please, Minwoo. Make sure that she’s alright.” “Don’t worry, I will.” Minwoo said to Cecile as the hung up the phone. By that time Ally got up. “Ally! Ally! Thank God your awake! What happened? Why did you faint?” Amy asked while hugging her. “Please, Amy… Tell me it’s all just a joke. Please… Cecile… Tell me that she was lying.” Ally mumbled with tears in her eyes. “What are you saying? What are you talking about? Ally?” “They’re dead! Amy! They’re gone! WHY! Why did they have to die?” Ally cried. “Who? Who’s dead? Ally?” Amy asked with tears flowing from her eyes. “Her parents.” Minwoo said as he helped the girls get up. With a shock look on her face, Amy started hugging Ally who was now silent. “Ally, I’m so sorry. Don’t worry, we’ll get through this together.” “What’s there to get over?” Ally said with a cold voice. “What? Ally what are you saying?” Minwoo asked. “There’s nothing to get over. This is all just a misunderstanding that’s all. My parents aren’t dead. I’m really worried she might of gone and done something stupid.” “Calm down Amy. Did she call?” “No, I so scared. I’ve been up all night waiting for her but she never came in. She doesn’t even know her way around town. What if she got lost? What if someone did something to her? It’s not like her to just run off and not call?” “Look, I’m gonna get dressed and come over. Maybe we can figure out where she went. I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” Minwoo said as he hung up the phone and ran into the bathroom. ‘Ally? Where are you? Are you hurt? Are you in pain? Please, tell me where you are? Why are you doing this? I’d make things all better again if you’d only come back.’ Minwoo thought to himself as he drove to Amy’s house. Knock… knock… knock… “Ally! Is that you? Please tell me it’s you.” Amy cried as she got up to open the door only to find Minwoo standing there. “Did she call?” “No, Minwoo. I’m really worried. I searched her room but I don’t know where she could have gone.” “Look, you have to calm down. Worrying like this won’t do us any good. Besides, I asked the guys to look for her around time. I told them to call me if anything turned up. Don’t worry we’ll find her.” “Thanks, I know we hardly even know you, but Ally’s really lucky to know a bunch of great guys like you and your friends.” “Thanks. We’re the lucky ones. I mean, most of the girls we meet just scream at us and then ask for our autographs and stuff. But you two just treated us like regular guys. Look, why don’t you stay here in case she comes home. I’m gonna see if I can find her. Just call me if she comes home or the others call.” As Minwoo got up the door suddenly opened. Ally walked in. Her skin was as pale as a ghost and she had a dead expression on her face. “Ally!” Amy cried as she ran to her to hug her. “Where have you been? You scared the hell out of me? Are you alright? Are you hurt?” Ally looked at Minwoo and then at Amy. “I’m sorry I worried you Amy. Don’t worry, I’ll never do it again.” She said to Amy in a quiet cold voice. She broke from Amy’s hug and turned to Minwoo. “I’m sorry Minwoo if I worried you too. Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’m not hurt. You can go back to doing what you were doing. You shouldn’t have come, I’m sorry for taking your time. It was so rude of me. I’m really sorry.” She said with a smile on her face. Minwoo knew that it was a fake smile. He could see in her eyes that she was lying. She wasn’t fine. “It was nothing. You don’t have to be sorry. I was worried about you. The others guys were too. Besides, you’re not taking time out of our schedule. Ally, you’re our friend, we just want you to be safe. We care deeply about you.” “That’s do nice of you, but as you can see I’m fine. So just go. And tell the guys that I’m sorry to have made them worry about me.” Ally said to Minwoo as she walked to her room closing the door behind her. “Ally…” Amy said as she was about to run after her but then felt an arm holding her back. “Minwoo, what are you doing? I have to go and comfort her.” “I think for right now, she needs to be alone. Look, I could tell that she hasn’t slept at all. She needs the rest. You need the rest too. Look, why don’t you go and get some rest. Don’t worry about Ally, I have nothing to do today so I’ll just hang around here and keep an eye on her.” “Thanks, Minwoo.” Amy said as she walked to her room to rest. Minwoo called the guys to tell them that Ally was safe and sound. In her room Ally laid on her bed staring at the ceiling. Her eyes were red and dry from crying the whole night. ‘What am I suppose to do now?’ She thought to herself as her eye got heavier and she fell asleep. ‘Ally, why are you hurting yourself?’ Minwoo thought to himself. ‘Why won’t you just let me comfort you? Why are you lying to us? I know you’re hurting inside. Please, open up to me.’ Tired, he dosed off on the couch. (A couple hours later.) Ally got up and opened to door. She walked to Amy’s room to see if Amy was there. After finding Amy asleep on her bed she walked towards the living room. There she found Minwoo asleep on the couch hugging a pillow. ‘He looks so peaceful.’ She thought to herself. Ally got up and was about to walk towards the door when Minwoo got up and grabbed her arm. “Where are you going?” He asked as he sat up. “Oh, sorry if I woke you. Go back to sleep, I was just gonna take off my shoes.” Ally replied back. “No you weren’t. I know what you were thinking. Where were you going to go?” “Nowhere.” Ally said with a smile on he face. “Alright. I can see that you don’t believe me so what’s the use. I was hungry and so I decided to go out and grab a bit to eat seeing as you two were asleep and I didn’t wanna make some noise and wake you up.” “Alright then, let’s go.” “Go where?” “You said you were hungry, so I’m taking you to eat. Why, are you ashamed to be seen with me?” Minwoo said in a joking manner. “No, it’s not like that. I just thought that you might be tired so I don’t wanna bother you.” “Ally, how many times do I have to tell you. You’re not bothering me nor any of the guys. We like having you around. Besides, I have nothing to do and I’m hungry myself.” Minwoo says to her as he gets up and puts his jacket on. “Look, I know this place where people won’t bother us. I’m pretty sure you don’t wanna deal with people today. Let me just leave Amy a note so she won’t have to worry when she gets up and we’ll be on our way. What do you say?” Minwoo says to Ally as he’s writing the note. “Alright. I don’t fell like a conflict right now. Just as long as you stop asking me if I’m okay.” “Since when did I ask you if you were okay?” “You just did.” Ally said with a smile on her face.
