I only wish that you wouldn't know about my days imprisoned in your memory.~ ~As One~ ‘I Only Wish That You Wouldn’t Know’ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Well, after you guys drove off we drove off also in the direction of her house. I guess she must have been tired form the day and so as soon as she got into the car she fell asleep. I didn’t want to bother her, she looked so beautiful sleeping. So I decided to drive to Signal Hill. After I got there I just sat there staring at her sleeping. She looked so peaceful. She woke up and caught me staring at her, but then she looked around and figured that she wasn’t home. She asked me what we were doing there and so I told her that I had something to tell her. We got out of the car and sat under a tree. I told her that Amy sort of had something to do with today’s event. I thought she’d be surprised but I guess she knew. And then… * “And then what?” Jin asked. Minwoo looked at them and told them what Ally said to him. * And then she told me. This morning when I came to pick her up, she was crying. She told me that she was watching a sad movie and that was why she was crying. I was suspecting something because the TV wasn’t on. But I just decided to drop the subject. Anyways after I told her about Amy and all she told me the truth about why she was crying. * Minwoo now had tears in his eyes, and the guys could see them streaming down his face. * She told me that she had never felt this way before. This was the first time in a long time that she felt happy. I was confused because I didn’t understand why being happy would bother her so much. That’s when she told me. “All my life I always made sure that everyone was happy, I was so occupied with that, that I never took the time to make myself happy. Even if it meant me being miserable as long as I knew my family and friends were happy, that was fine with me. But now, everything’s changed. These past two weeks have been the greatest. I came here to start a new life, made new friends, and actually have a job that I love. I’ve never been this happy in my life and it scared me. It scared me so much that I just broke down and cried.” I was shocked by what she had just told me. I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know what to say. It hurt me to see her in pain and to think that she didn’t deserve to be happy. So I just held her in my arms and tried to comfort her. “I know Minwoo, I know. But it’s just that what if this is just a relapse to what’s really to come? I just don’t wanna hurt anyone.” She began to cry then, I just held her and told her that she didn’t need to worry about getting hurt anymore and that she had us to care about her now. After a while she finally took my words and agreed that it was time to move on. And that’s when it happened… “You’re right, I should stop worrying so much and just accept the fact that I’m happy.” She said to him with a smile. “How did I come to know such a great guy like you?” “That’s just who I am. A great guy.” “Yeah, and a really cute guy you are also.” I was shocked by what I heard. She thinks I’m cute, she actually thinks I’m cute. She was standing up now and began to throw leaves at me with a smile on her face. You know me, I’m a sucker for that stuff. I got up and started chasing her. I couldn’t catch her because I was all tired out myself so I decided to fake a fall. It worked like a charm. She took the bait and walked to me to help me up. She handed her hand to me just like I planned it. That’s when I pulled her down. She figured it out by the time I pined her on the ground. She was just laughing and staring at me with a smile on her face. You should have seen her; she looked even prettier like that. Something came over me and I knew then that if I didn’t do it them that I might not have a chance to do it later. And that’s when I kissed her. * “So you kissed her. That still doesn’t explain the long face.” Jin said interrupting. “Jin shut up and let him speak.” Dongwan said to him slapping him behind his head. * That’s just it. I kissed her. I was so relived that I kissed her. She now knew how I felt about her inside. I was so happy that I just stared at her waiting for an answer. That’s when everything came downhill. She just stared at me with a blank face. I knew she was shocked by what happened but staring into her eyes I knew that there was something else. Anyways, it was silent. “Oh my gosh! It’s getting late, we better be going.” She got up and walked to the car leaving me there. I was shocked, I mean she didn’t even say anything about what just happened. It would have been fine with me if she got mad and slapped me across the face but she just got up and walked away. We drove home in silence. When we finally pulled up to her driveway I looked at her. She was still staring out the window like she was some place else. She finally snapped out of it and got out of the car. I looked to where she was sitting and found that she had forgotten her sweater, so I picked it up and brought it to her. She didn’t even know I was behind her until she turned around to get her sweater. I offered to walk her up to the door but she resisted a bit. When we finally got there she just turned around and said bye. I knew she didn’t want me there any longer, and so I said bye and walked back to the car and drove home. * “Man, she just blew you off.” Jin said to him. “Oh come on, I mean, you probably just had bad breathe or something.” Hyesung said trying to comfort Minwoo. “I mean you did eat a lot for dinner.” “I don’t have bad breath.” Minwoo responded in a low tone. “Look Minwoo, she was probably just shocked by your actions. I mean, that’s just the way girls are.” Eric said to him with a hand on his shoulder. “How can that be, I mean every girl I’ve kissed have always reacted to the kiss, she just stood up and walked away like nothing happened.” “Aww come on, maybe you’ve finally met your match.” Dongwan said to him. “It’s nothing, besides she said you were cute. You know she doesn’t hate you.” “You think?” Minwoo responded. “I don’t think, I know.” Dongwan said to him with a reassuring look on his face. “She’s probably just playing hard to get. I mean come on Minwoo, you can’t just think every girl is gonna come straight to you with the snap of your finger.” “He’s right, she’s just playing hard to get.” Jin agreed. “You guys are probably right.” Minwoo said with a smile on his face. “I’m such a idiot, for a moment there I thought she didn’t wanna see me anymore. Ha, ha.” He said to them as he stood up and went to his room. Sigh… “Man, I feel sorry for him.” Eric said to the others. “She’s got him hooked on her and it’s not even her fault.” Dongwan replied. “She wouldn’t just diss him like that would she?” Jin asked. “I mean Ally’s not that kind of a person is she?” “Jin! I can’t believe you’d even thing that way about her!” Hyesung said with an angry look on his face. “Ally’s our friend too. Besides I bet she was just still in shock. I was shocked when I got my first kiss from Minwoo. And look at me, I’m still recovering.” “Yeah, I know the feeling.” Jin replied. “Come on you guys, let’s just drop the subject. It’s not gonna do us any good right now. We’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to see what happens.” Eric said to them as they all walked up the stairs to their rooms. “I just hope it’s not bad news. Ring… ring… Ally reached to the side of her dresser and picked up the phone. “Hello?” She said while burying her head under her pillow and blanket. “Guess who!” A voice from the other end called. “Amy? Is that you?” “Who else sleepy head! What are you still doing in bed?” Amy asked. Ally looked to her alarm clock to see what time it was. “Amy, are you crazy or something? It’s 5:00 in the morning. Why are you calling to early?” “So it’s 5:00, you always seem to wake up around that time anyways.” Amy replied. “Look, I appreciate the morning call but if that’s all then I’d appreciate it more if I can go back to sleep.” “Ally! What’s up with you? Shouldn’t you be running laps or something?” Amy said to her. “Now get out of bed young lady!” “Amy! Just leave me alone. It’s the weekend and I wanna sleep.” “Wait, Ally! Look, I’m sorry for calling so early but it’s just that I wanted to call you and share my joy with you.” “I’m happy for you, now can I please go back to bed?” Ally replied as she yawned. “Ally, what’s wrong?” Amy asked. “You sound different. Are you okay?” “Am I okay? What’s wrong with Ally? Why is it that all people seem to ask me these days is if I’m alright or if there’s something wrong!” Ally was now yelling at Amy on the phone. “You wanna know what’s wrong with me? I’m tired! That’s what! I’M TRYING TO SLEEP BUT INSTEAD I’M FORCED TO WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO YOUR GLOATING! THAT’S WHAT’S WRONG!” “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Look, I’ll just call you back or you can call me whenever you want.” Amy said to her with a sad tone. “Bye.” “Wait, Amy! I…” Amy hung up on Ally who was now feeling guilty for snapping at her. Ally tried going back to sleep but it was no use. She was awake now and couldn’t go back to sleep with a guilty conscious. “I can’t stand this anymore! I need to get some fresh air.” She yelled out as she went to the bathroom to wash up. She then put on a pair of shorts and a white t-shirt and walked out of the house. Ally was running for a while and then found herself at a nearby park. She decided to run around it in hopes to relieve her guilty conscious and her stress. After an hour of running she decided to stop and sat down on a bench. The running didn’t seem to ease her mind and so she just sat there staring at the morning sun. She looked around; there weren’t many people there. ‘Figures, everyone’s still in bed sleeping enjoying their weekend.’ She thought to herself. Then from a distance she spotted a familiar face. The person was now heading towards her direction. As he approached her she knew who he was. “Ally, we meet again.” “Look Johnny, I don’t feel like listening to your crap right now.” Ally said to him as she stood up to leave. Just then Johnny grabbed her hand and forced her to sit back down on the bench. “What?” “I see you’re pissed today. Not a good way to start out the day, especially the weekend.” Johnny replied. “Look Johnny, as much as I would love to reminisce about all the good times, I don’t feel like it right now.” “Sit.” He said to her in a serious voice. Something came over Ally and she then decided to sit. Silence fell upon them; Johnny decided to break the silence. “I’ve been thinking about what you said to me the last time we saw each other.” “Yeah, and? I meant every word of it.” She replied with an angry look on her face. “Look, I don’t blame you for hating me. But at least let me explain.” “Well, I’m listening.” She said with her arms crossed. “That night, when you found Charlie and brought him to the hospital, the reason why I wasn’t there was… Look, the thing is, I got really messed up. I couldn’t be there for you and Charlie because I was prevented from helping.” “What are you trying to say?” She asked him. “What I’m trying to say is that I got into some really bad business and I was this close to getting busted. Charlie found out and promised that he would get me out of it. I scolded him and told him that I didn’t want him to get involved. I was already into deep; I didn’t want him getting in. Anyways that night Charlie met with the guy I was working for. He made a deal with him.” “Deal? What kind of a deal?” Ally asked. “The only way for me to come out clean out of all this was for Charlie to give up 10 minutes of his life. All he had to do was allow them to beat the shit out of him for 10 minutes and then they’d leave me alone. Charlie agreed to it. I didn’t find out about the deal until the next morning when Jung told me. I headed straight to the hospital to see Charlie. I had to get him out of there, and that’s why we left.” “You bastard.” Ally said to him. She now had tears streaming down her face. “I wanted to tell you, I did. But I couldn’t, I didn’t want any connections with you in order to keep you safe. And besides you hurt me that night. I was so hurt that you didn’t feel the same way I felt for you. And so I had to leave this life behind, I had to leave you behind.” Johnny now had tears streaming from his eyes also. “So that’s why you left.” Ally said to him in a low voice. “All this time I thought you ran away because you were to scared to face the world. You coward!” “There’s more.” “What’s there more to say? You haven’t changed at all.” Ally said to him. “That night you came to the warehouse, I thought I was dreaming. I missed you so much, and to see you again brought back all the good times we had together. I loved you, and I still love you. That night after you left, I made a promise to myself. I promised that I wouldn’t hurt you anymore. That night, I decided to end this running around and face the world.” “Stop it! Just stop it!” Ally was now yelling at him. “I wanna change Ally! You gotta believe me. I know that we can never be lovers, I’ve lost you. But all I want now is to gain your trust and your friendship again. I need to know that you still care about me.” “I can’t, I can’t do this anymore.” She said with tears streaming down on her face. “Why did you save me that night? Why didn’t you just leave me there to die? Why?” Johnny just held her in his arms as she cried. “I’m sorry Ally, I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you? I was lost; I didn’t know what I was doing. But I know now and I don’t want to hurt you anymore. Min… Woo…’ “PRETTY BOY!” Johnny said out loud. “Pretty boy kissed you?” “Yeah.” Ally replied with a sad look on her face. “So what happened?” Johnny asked Ally. She decided to tell Johnny what had happened the night before. Johnny just sat there and listened to her. “This is all my fault.” He said to her after she finished telling him what had happened. “Please don’t say that. You weren’t the one to blame for what happened to me.” “If I told you the truth from the beginning you would of never have had to go through all the pain you went through. It is my fault.” Johnny replied. “Look Johnny, I forgive you for what you did. I understand now why things went the way they did. This kiss, it wasn’t your fault. What happened to me that night we met, it wasn’t your fault. You saved me from those three guys. So please don’t blame yourself for this.” “He loves you. She’s Ally.” Hyesung said to him as he turned to see two figures sitting down on a bench, one of them looking really familiar. “Hey, isn’t that Ally over there?” “Ally? Where?” “Over there sitting on that bench. She’s sitting with some guy, he doesn’t look like I know him.” Hyesung said as he pointed to Ally and Johnny. “Johnny.” Minwoo replied as he spotted Ally and Johnny talking. As they approached them Minwoo saw Johnny hugging Ally. Suddenly rage grew inside. “I can’t believe it.” He said to her. “Minwoo? What are you doing here?” Ally said to him with a shocked look on her face. “I can’t believe you’re hugging him after all that he’s put you through. What’s wrong with you? Are you crazy?” “Look, I can explain.” Ally said to him. “Explain? You can explain? I don’t think you can explain. I was there for you, I cared about you. I held you while you cried because of what that bastard did to you. And now I find you hugging him! How can you explain this!” Minwoo was now yelling. “Now I know why you didn’t say anything after I kissed you!” “Look Minwoo, you’ve misunderstood everything. If you just let Ally explain this…” POW! Minwoo punched Johnny down before he could finish his sentence. “Don’t tell me what to do! You’re nothing to me!” Minwoo said to him. Ally ran to Johnny and was helping him get up. “Minwoo, how could you?” She asked him. “How could I? How could you! After all I did for you!” He was really angry now and couldn’t keep in inside anymore. “Minwoo, I think you’re over reacting. Just listen to Ally.” Hyesung said to him trying to calm him down. “Shut up Hyesung! Stay out of this, I don’t want you to get involved in this.” Minwoo was now staring at Ally with cold eyes filled with anger. “You know something? At first I really thought you were different from other girls. I actually thought you didn’t deserve what you went through. But now, I really know who the real Ally Kim is.” “Minwoo…” Ally said with tears falling from her eyes as she grabbed his hand. “Don’t touch me!” He said to her slapping her hand away. “I hate you. I don’t ever wanna see your face again. You disgust me, seeing your face disgusts me. Just the sound of your name disgusts me! Why?” Eric asked. “Minwoo was yelling at her after he found her hugging Johnny at the park. He got mad and he just snapped.” Hyesung explained. “You should have heard the things he said to her, about her. After he left she just blacked out.” “Where is she? Is she gonna be alright?” Dongwan asked worried. “I don’t know, she’s been in the ER for about an hour now. They haven’t said anything yet.” Hyesung said to them. “Did you get a reach of Amy?” “Yeah, I called them on the way here. They’ll be here as soon as possible.” Jin replied. The guys’ attention was now on Johnny. “I’m guessing you must be Johnny.” Eric said to him. “Yeah, my name’s Johnny.” He replied. “You guys, this is Huang’s brother. Johnny, these are some of Ally’s friends. That there is Eric, Jin, and Dongwan.” Hyesung said as he pointed to them. “So you’re the reason Ally’s in here.” Jin said in an angry tone. “Now come on you guys, let’s not start this all over again. Johnny’s not the one to blame. He explained everything to me already. It’s all just a big misunderstanding.” Hyesung said to them as he broke them up. “Right now, we have to focus on Ally. She really needs us now, we can’t waste our energy on fighting.” “He’s right.” Eric said. They all sat down waiting for the doctor to come in. While they were waiting Hyesung explained everything to Eric, Jin, and Dongwan. “God Minwoo. What have you done?” Eric said as he sighed. “I tried getting a hold of him but he’s not picking up his cell phone.” Hyesung said to them. “Look, we’ll keep trying. Right now we gotta pray that Ally’s alright.” Jin said. Just then the doctor stepped into the waiting room. The guys jumped up and began asking him questions. “Look, we managed to get her stable and transferred to a room. You can go and see her now but she needs the rest.” He said to them as they followed him to Ally’s room. As they walked into her room they could see that she was hooked up to all these machines with IV’s sticking into her arm. “Are any of you family members?” The doctor asked. “She doesn’t have any more family. We’re all close friends.” Hyesung responded. Just then Amy and Huang showed up. “Ally.” Amy cried as she saw Ally in bed with machines keeping her breathing. “Can I talk to you about Ally’s condition in private then?” The doctor asked Hyesung. “Sure.” Hyesung replied as he and the doctor stepped out of the room. “I wanna hear this too, Ally’s like a sister to me.” Amy said as she took walked out to listen to what the doctor had to say, leaving the others by Ally’s side. “Since Ally doesn’t have any family left I have no choice but to tell you about her condition.” “What’s wrong doctor? I thought you said that she was stable?” Hyesung replied. “Yes, she’s stable for now, but I don’t know how long it’s gonna be like that. She came in really weak, her body almost gave in the ER.” “So what are you trying to say doctor?” Amy asked. “Look, I will do all I can to keep up alive, but this isn’t something physical we’re dealing with. She’s mentally fighting her mind right now. Basically, it’s up to her whether she wants to live or die. Look, I’m still waiting to the test results she took, but you have to make sure that she stays stress free as soon as she wakes up. We can’t allow her to worry or stress about anything else until I get the results.” “Thank you doctor.” Hyesung said to him as he left to check on his other patients. “What do we do now?” Amy asked. “First of all, we have to let the others know about this. They have to know in order to reduce the stress. And then when Ally wakes up we just have to make sure that she gains her strength and energy back.” Hyesung said to her as they walked back into Ally’s room. (Ally’s room.) “Is she awake?” Amy asked the others. “No, she’s still sleeping.” Huang replied. “Hyesung, what did the doctor say about her conditions? Is she gonna be alright?” Johnny asked. “Look, there’s something I have to tell you. I don’t know how to say this and so I’m just gonna say it because you have to know.” Hyesung said to them as they turned their attention to him. “Whatever it is, we can take it.” Eric replied. “It’s about Ally. The doctor said that there might be a chance she won’t pull through.” “What? What do you mean?” Dongwan asked. “Look, the doctor said that he will do all he can to keep her going but that’s only gonna help her physically. He said that physically she’s fine; it’s her mental side that’s damaged. Basically, he said that it was up to her whether she wants to live or die. And that’s why we have to make sure that no stress comes to her. We have to keep her stress and worry free. Anymore of it and she won’t make it.” “Poor Ally.” Jin replied. “She doesn’t deserve this!” As they were talking, they didn’t know that Ally was awake and heard the whole conversation. “So I’m gonna die huh.” Ally said as the others turned to her. “Ally!” Amy cried as she ran to her and hugged her. “When did you wake up?” “I’m gonna die.” “No, no you’re not. You’re not gonna die Ally, we won’t let that happen.” Amy said to her. “What if it’s what I want.” Ally replied in a soft voice. The gang was shocked to hear what she said. “Ally? You don’t mean that!” Johnny said as he walked to the other side of her bed. “Look, I’m really thankful that you all came to see me. Thank you, but you didn’t have to. You shouldn’t have to take time out of your busy lives to see me.” “Ally, we’re here because we care about you. We don’t care about our jobs, we care about you’re health.” Dongwan said to her. “That’s just it, I don’t want you to care about me or worry about me anymore. You shouldn’t have to, because I’ve already given up on myself!” “Ally, you don’t mean that!” Hyesung said to her. “I do, I DO MEAN IT! I’m so sick and tired of living, I don’t wanna live like this anymore. I just wanna go away, take all this pain away, and leave you all to be happy.” She said as tears began to run down her face. “I don’t deserve to have friends like you, I don’t wanna hurt you anymore. And that’s why, that’s why I’ve given up.” “Ally, you don’t mean that. Look you’re just tired and weak from what just happened. You’re not thinking straight. You just need to rest some one.” Amy said to her. “Amy! Why aren’t you listening to me? I’m aware of what I’m saying, why can’t you all just understand it and accept it? Why can’t you just accept that I don’t want to live anymore and that you should all go on with your lives?” “We can’t, we can’t because we care about you Ally. You changed us, you made us better people. And so we’re not gonna just sit there and allow you to kill yourself.” Johnny said to her. “Please, I can’t go on like this. I can’t go on hurting the people that I care about. It’s just too much.” Ally said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. “How can you say that you’re hurting us? We’re all here safe and happy. All you’ve brought us was joy and happiness. You could never hurt us.” Eric said to her as tears began to stream down his face. “How can you say that I’ve brought you joy and happiness? Look at what I did to Minwoo. I broke his heart! He kissed me and what did I do? I blew him off! I reached for his heart and broke it into a million pieces!” Ally said to them. “Don’t you see, Minwoo was right. I’m the worst thing that could ever happen to you all. Knock… knock… knock… “Who is it?” Ally asked as she wiped the tears from her eyes. A women in a white uniform walked in pushing a cart. “You’re finally awake I see.” She said to Ally as she pushed the cart towards her. “My name’s Minsung and I’ll be your nurse.” “Nice to meet you Minsung.” Ally replied with a small smile on her face. “My name’s Ally, Ally Kim.” “Well, how was your first night?” Minsung asked as she was reading Ally’s chart. “It was fine.” “Good then. I brought you some breakfast but first, I need to draw some blood out of your arm and change your IV.” Minsung said as she prepared the equipment. “Now I’m not gonna lie to you, this is gonna hurt a bit.” She said to Ally as she began to draw blood from Ally. “I’ve been through worst.” Ally replied as she stared outside the window. Minsung was now changing the IV. “Well, I’m all done here. So now you can eat. I’m pretty sure you must be starved, seeing you haven’t eaten anything ever since they brought you in yesterday morning.” Minsung said with a smile on her face as she set Ally’s tray on the bed table. “You know what? Actually I’m not hungry, so you can just take the food with you as you leave.” “Look Ally, you need to get some food into your system or else you might go into shock.” Minsung said with a worried look on her face. “Now I don’t know what happened to you that caused you to come here in the first place but from your chart I know that you need to gain your strength and energy back if you wanna get out of here.” “Look, Minsung. I said I wasn’t hungry.” Ally said with a cold look in her eyes. “I appreciate you’re concerns but right now I don’t wanna hear about it. So if you wanna make me happy, leave me alone here in this cold hospital room, just let me disappear from existence.” “First of all Ms. Kim, I don’t like the tone of your voice. And if you think I don’t know what you’re going through, well then you’re wrong.” Minsung said in an angry tone. “I understand how you’re feeling right now. I may not know what happened to you but I do know that right now you just wanna die. You’re tired of holding on to the little hope that you have, you wanna leave this world as soon as possible. You think that leaving this world will be better for everyone you know and care about. And so you chose to starve yourself, cry, and stress yourself with more and more worries.” Ally just kept quite. She was shocked at what Minsung was saying because it was true. “Ally, I know that inside you’re a really good person. Look, I know that you’re going through something really hard right now, but it doesn’t mean that you just give up on the world. You have to be strong if not for the people who care about you, do it for yourself.” Minsung said to her as she stood up to leave. “I know you say you’re not hungry, but I’ll leave the food anyways. You’ll find out, we’re heading there right now.” Jin replied as they drove off to the hospital. (Ally’s Room.) ‘She’s right. But I cant… I just can’t hold on anymore, and that’s why… That’s why I have to leave.’ Ally thought to herself as the sat in her bed staring at the blank wall. “Guess who?” A voice said as Ally turned towards the door to see whom it was. “Amy.” She said in a soft voice. “Yeah, and also Huang, Johnny, Eric, Dongwan, Jin, and Hyesung.” Amy replied as they all walked in to see her. “I thought I told you guys that I didn’t want you guys to come anymore. You don’t need to see me like this.” Ally said to them. “Just leave me alone.” “Oh come on Ally, cheer up.” Hyesung said to her. “Yeah, besides, we brought you a present, well actually, we’d like you to meet a friend of ours.” Dongwan said as Andy walked. “Ally, this is Andy Lee.” Jin said as she looked at him. “Hi Ally. The guys have told me a lot about you. I know well become great friends.” Andy said to her as he shook her hand. “Nice to meet you Andy.” Ally said with a small smile. “But I don’t think I want you to get to know me. It’s better if you don’t. I’ll just bring you pain and sorrow.” She said to him as her face changed into a sad expression. “Aww come on now, don’t say that. Sorry, I mean…” “It’s okay.” Ally said. “You don’t have to be sorry about anything Andy. It’s not your fault I’m in here nor is it Minwoo’s. If he calls, could you just tell him that I’m really sorry for what happened and that I’m really gonna miss him.” “Ally, you talk as if this was your last hour.” Amy said to her with a worried look on her face. “Amy, silly. I’m dying, why can’t you just accept that.” Ally said. “Don’t say that.” Johnny responded. “You’re not gonna die, we won’t allow it. You just need to gain your strength and energy back.” “Look, can we just drop this. I went over everything yesterday already, there’s nothing you can do about it. I’ve made my decision.” Ally said to them as there was a knock at the door. “Oh sorry, I didn’t you had visitors.” Minsung said as she walked in the room. “How are you all doing? My name’s Minsung, I’m Ally’s nurse.” They all greeted her as she walked towards Ally’s bed. “What now?” Ally asked. “Ally?” Amy said shocked at Ally’s remark. “Not happy to see me?” Minsung said. “I can see you didn’t touch your breakfast.” “I told you I wasn’t hungry.” Ally said as stared coldly into her eyes. “Ally? Why didn’t you eat your breakfast?” Hyesung asked. “Look, I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t touch it.” She replied. “That’s alright, if she says she’s not hungry then she’s not hungry.” Minsung said. “Look, I need to get her cleaned up so if you guys don’t mind stepping out for about an hour or so.” “Yeah sure.” They said as they walked out. “Andy?” Jin called out. “Huh? What?” “That means let’s go.” Jin replied. “I thought I’d stay and you know, help out with the sponge bath.” “ANDY!” Eric yelled out. “Alright, alright! I was just kidding!” He said as he walked towards the door. “I’ll see you later Ally, and remember, I’ll only bit if you ask me to.” With that they gang left Ally with Minsung. “Who was that?” Minsung asked Ally as she helped her get into the bathroom. “That was Andy Lee. I just met him today.” “He’s cute.” Minsung replied. “Yeah, he’s also weird but in a good way. You can’t help but smile at his childish behavior.” Ally said as she got into the bathtub. Ally was looking at Minsung. “What?” Minsung asked. “Are you just gonna sit there and watch me take a bath?” “Yeah, that’s what I’m gonna do.” Minsung replied. “The doctor has put you under my supervision. I’m suppose to make sure that nothing happens to you. It’s Ally, she’s in the hospital. Eric “Ally…” He said as he dropped the note, grabbed his keys and ran towards the door. “If anything has happened to her I’ll never forget myself.” He said to himself as he drove off towards the hospital. (Hospital Cafeteria.) “Andy quit flirting with that girl and get over here!” Eric called out to him. “I wasn’t flirting, I was just working my magic.” Andy replied as she sat next to them. “Some magic, you just had to mention Minwoo’s name.” Eric said as he slapped him on the side of the head. “Oww!” THUMP!! “Enough! I don’t wanna hear about him anymore!” Johnny said as she banged his hand on the table. “Calm down bro.” Huang said to him. “I know you’re mad and all but that’s not gonna help Ally.” “If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t be in here in the first place.” He said as he stood up. “Look dude, I know you’re pissed and all but your brother’s right, that’s not gonna help Ally right now.” Hyesung said to him trying to calm him down. “Eric!” Minwoo said as he ran towards them. “Minwoo!” Eric said as the others stood up to see him. “You!” Johnny said as he ran towards Minwoo and grabbed him by the collar slamming him into the wall. “Johnny no!” Amy cried as the guys rushed to separate the two. “What the fuck are you doing here!” Johnny yelled out. “I came to see Ally.” Minwoo replied. “It’s bad enough you put her in here, what, you wanna see her slowly die now!” Johnny said as he tried to get free from Dongwan and Jin’s grip. “Guys! Calm down!” Andy said to them. “Andy’s right! Set your differences aside!” Amy said to them. “We’re here for Ally, not to blame who got her in here in the first place. And if you don’t settle down then you can both leave!” They calmed down and sat down back at the table. “I tell you to take care of her and this is what you do.” “Johnny!” Amy said to him. “I meant what I said!” “Where is she?” Minwoo asked. “She’s getting cleaned up.” Hyesung replied. “The nurse will let us know when she’s done.” “How is she?” “Not too good.” Amy replied as tears began to fall from her eyes. “Amy what’s wrong?” Minwoo asked. “She’s dying hyung.” Andy replied. “She hasn’t eaten since yesterday morning, and you can tell that she’s been crying.” Jin said to him. “She’s really weak right now.” “Isn’t there anything we can do?” Minwoo asked. “Look, the doctor said that we have to encourage her to eat and gain her energy and strength back. We can’t allow her to worry or stress about anything.” Eric said to him. “The thing is, last time I talked to the doctor he told me that she wasn’t getting better.” Hyesung responded. “He said that it’s now up to her whether she wants to hold on or let go.” “She wants to die!” Amy cried out. “And there’s nothing we can say to change her decision.” Amy was now getting hysterical as Huang held her close in his arms. Tears began to stream down Minwoo’s face now. “It’s all my fault.” He said to them as he lowered his head on the table. “This is all my fault.” (Meanwhile In Ally’s Room.) “And that’s why I’m in here.” Ally said to Minsung who was shocked and sad to hear Ally’s life story. “I didn’t know it was that bad.” Minsung said to Ally as she wipes a tear from her eyes. “That’s alright, I deserve it all.” “Ally, how can you say that?” Minsung said shocked again. “You didn’t deserve any of this. Someone as nice and pure as you doesn’t deserve to live the life you lived.” “It’s alright, I’m okay now. I’m not sad that I went through what I went through. Minwoo was right, I deserved it all. I just wish I realized it before… before…” Ally began to cry. “Before I broke his heart and mine in the process…” Minsung went over to Ally who was now sitting in her bed. “Look, I know you probably think that ended your life will solve it all, but it wont. It’s just gonna make it worst by hurting the ones you love.” “What do you expect me to do? I can’t go back, not after all the pain I’ve caused them, not after all the pain I’ve caused Minwoo. I can’t hurt him anymore than I have. And that’s why I have to disappear from them” “Ally, from what you’ve told me, leaving everyone behind will cause them more pain than you’re living. What will Minwoo do after you leave him? He’ll be broken forever, a lost soul. I know that you love him, and from what you’ve told me I know that he loves you very much also. You just gotta let him know what’s in your heart.” Minsung said as she stood up. “Everything else will fall into place after that. But it won’t happen if you give up.” With those last words Minsung left, leaving Ally by herself again. ‘I’m sorry Minsung, but I can’t, I’ve fallen way into deep to go back now.’ Ally reached over to her dresser and pulled out a notebook and a pen and started writing. She then folded the note and set it on her pillow. ‘Mother, father, please forgive me. I mean really love her?” “Of course I do, with all my heart. Why do you ask?” “I ask because right now, love is the only thing that will save her from doing the unthinkable.” Minsung said to them as they all walked back to Ally’s room. Andy was the first to get to the room. “Ally, I’m back! Did you miss me?” He said as he walked in. “Ally?” He looked around but she was nowhere to be found. “GUYS! COME QUICK!” They all ran to her room to find Ally gone. “Where could she have gone?” Amy cried. Minwoo looked around and then spotted the note on the pillow. He picked it up and began to read it. He then dropped the not on the floor and darted towards the door. “Minwoo! Where are you going!” Eric called out but it was too late. He was gone. Hyesung picked up the note from the floor. “You guys! It’s Ally, she wrote this.” “Well read it!” Jin said to him. To my beloved family, Hey, it’s me Ally. If you’re reading this then by now you’ve probably figured that I’m gone. Now before you all get mad at me I just wanna say a few things. I’m sorry for not holding on to the little hope I had left. My body is really weak right now and I’m feeling really crappy. I just wanna start out by asking that you not come looking for me, please don’t make it any harder than it is for me. I’ve thought about this a lot and I feel that it’s the only way left. I’ve fallen way into deep to go back. Please don’t hate me for doing this, I never meant to end it like this but my body’s giving out. Now for the important part. Amy, my best friend, I shall be forever grateful for all that you’ve done. She felt a cool breeze and she sat there with her eyes closed and breath it in. She felt really tired and heavy that she drifted off to sleep. And that girl in his arms was her. “So I am dead.” She said looking at her parents’ faces. “Not just yet.” Her mother replied. “You see, you’re in the process of crossing over Ally.” “This is where you make your decision.” Her father said to her. “This is where you chose to cross over or stay.” “I’ve already made my decision.” She said to them. “I wanna cross over, I wanna stay with you. I’ve missed you so much, I can’t bear to lose you again.” “I was afraid you would say that.” Her father said to her as a sad expression came to his face. “What do you mean father? Are you not glad to see me?” She asked shocked. “Mother? I don’t understand? I mean isn’t that why you and father are here? To take me to heaven?” “We came here to help you.” Her mother replied. “Just look at him? Don’t you see Ally? He loves you so much.” She said as she pointed to Minwoo who was crying. “I can’t go back, please mother, I just wanna make it stop. I don’t wanna hurt anymore.” Ally said as tears began to fill up her eyes again. “I know that you’re hurting right now. But you don’t have to worry about us anymore.” Her father said comforting her. “Your mother and I are alright now. We’re safe.” “Don’t you see? I failed, I failed you.” Ally cried. “You are not a failure!” Her father replied. “Ally Kim, you are many things but will never be a failure!” “We love you, and now it is your turn to live life as you should be doing. She saw Minwoo holding her dead body as he cried and whispered to her those three words. Tears began to fill her eyes as she closed them and drifted away. As he cried a tear fell onto Ally’s lips. She opened her eyes to see Minwoo crying and calling out to her. “Ally, please don’t leave me, come back.” He cried to her. “Please… I love you…” Tears began to fill her eyes. Minwoo felt a tear roll down his hand as he looked down to see Ally staring at him with tears in her eyes. “Ally!” He cried out as he hugged her tight. “You’re alive! Thank God you’re alive!” He said to her. “I thought I was too late, I thought I’d lost you forever!” Ally put her hands on his face and began to wipe away his tears. “Never, I will always be by your side.” She said to him as she leaned close to him and kissed him. “I saw them.” She said to him with a smile on her face. “Saw who?” He asked confused. “My mother and my father. They came to me, or the other way around. I went to them.” “What do you mean?” He asked. “I felt tired and then I drifted to sleep. I woke up in this dark place but then I saw a light and they appeared.” She said to him as he listened attentively. “They told me that they loved me and that it was time for me to live my life. And then I saw you. I saw you crying, holding my dead body.” “What else did they say?” “They told me to come back, back to the man I love. I knew that they were right, I could tell that they really loved you. And then they left. I called to them, but they disappeared. And that’s when I heard you.
