GyooHee asked. It was a Friday afternoon, and EunBi was relaxing from a hard day at school. Hearing Chilhyun's name made her jump. "Oh..umm..okay. Give me five minutes," EunBi answered as cooly as possible. She did not want her sister to get suspicious of her sudden jolt of excitement. Chilhyun was her puppy-love crush, and EunBi swore not to tell anyone as long as her sister was going out with him. EunBi put on a casual pink cardigan over her white lacy tank top, and headed downatairs. Lost in her train of thought about her sister's relationship with Chilhyun oppa, she absentmindedly asked her older sister, "GyooHee unnie..Do you love Chilhyun oppa?" EunBi asked. 'God..why did i even bother to ask?' she thought to herself. GyooHee hesitated for a moment and replied with a smile. "I don't know if it's love yet, but i sure don't have any thoughts of letting him go! (silence) But why do you ask?" "Huh? Oh...I was-just- umm wondering cuz you've been going out for so long now..." EunBi managed to stutter. She was worried that Chilhyun and GyooHee might someday get married. EunBi longed to say 'Well, might as well marry him since you two lost your virginity to each other anyways,' but EunBi held it in. She dreaded the thought of the two getting married- if it ever happened, EunBi knew her life would be over. The 15 minute drive to Chilhyun's house was quick, and before she knew it, EunBi was following her sister up Chilhyun's oppa's steps. GyooHee rang the bell. Shortly after, footsteps were heard as Chilhyun came to the door. At the first sight of his face, GyooHee squealed with delight, nearly jumped on him, and gave him a long-lasting, wet kiss. EunBi looked away, unable to bear the heart-breaking sight. GyooHee finally let go, and Chilhyun immediately said, "Mmmm..is that pineapple lipgloss?" while licking his lips. "Yup! Yoo Like?" GyooHee asked proudly. "Oh! I forgot...I Brought EunBi with me!" She said. EunBi shyly appeared from hiding behind her sister's back and waved at Chilhyun. 'God..he is so HOT!' she thought to herself, as he greeted her with his beautiful smile. "God GyooHee! I wouldn't have let you kiss me if I knew your sister were here too! We don't want to flood her young mind with corrupt thoughts now, do we?" Chilhyun said cheerfully, winking at GyooHee. "Oh Gosh oppa!" GyooHee playfully slapped Chilhyun's arm. "She can handle it! She's nearly 16 now!" Chilhyun merely smiled and led the two girls into his large house. He led them both into his room. It was the first time EunBi had actually been inside of his house. She marvelled at how large and spacious it was. EunBi had only seen it from the outside while waiting for her sister in the car. When her sister came back half an hour later, GyooHee's clothes were disarranged, hair messy. EunBi shook these thoughts out of her head. She did not want to even think about what the two were doing. EunBi followed her sister and Chilhyun to his room- in it were a mini recording booth, sound system, a king sized bed, a closet, and a dresser loaded with compact discs on it.Eunbi wandered around, now marvelling at the size of his room. She glanced at the clock sitting on the dresser, and next to it, there was a framed picture of GyooHee unnie and Chilhyun oppa. 'They look so happy together,' EunBi thought sadly to herself. 'I'll never get a chance with him.' Shaking her head, EunBi headed for the compact discs and stopped dead in her tracks when she heard her sister moaning and giggling softly. EunBi turned around and saw Chilhyun and her sister cuddling and kissing. EunBi rolled her eyes and said, "Okay you two..break it up! as long as i'm here, Let's stay PG okay? I'm not the R-rated type." 'EunBi, you dork..why did I say that? That was so not me!'she thought to herself. Embarrassed at what she had just said, EunBi felt drops of sweat forming on her head. She felt her face turning red. "Sorry," GyooHee said reluctantly, as she got up from Chilhyun's lap. She ran her fingers through her hair and turned to Chilhyun, who had a dazed look on his face. "Well..I'm going to freshen up then!" Gyoo said, and flounced happily out of the room. Chilhyun got up and put on some soft music. "So how was your day at school?" he asked EunBi, while pushing his bangs aside.EunBi cleared her throat. "Oh..it was good.." she answered as briefly as possible. A smile formed on Chilhyun's face. "So do you have a boyfriend yet?" he asked in a friendly tone. Surprised at his question, EunBi sat down on his bed and put her hands in her lap. "Nope!" she answered innocently. "No..unfortunately i don't," she repeated. "Aawwww..Don't worry..Mr.Right will come along," he said. "You should'nt be having trouble attracting guys," he continued. "You're just as cute and pretty as your sister." Chilhyun gave EunBi a comforting smile. "Tell me about it," she murmured. She wanted to carry on the conversation, but unluckily, her sister came flouncing back into the room. "Oppa! How is your training to be a record producer coming along?" GyooHee asked randomly. "It's going great!I bet I'll have my own company within the next five years or so!" he answered excitedly. EunBi cut into the converstion. "I thought you were planning to become a singer?" she asked curiously. "Yeah, but I figured I should just become a record producer, cuz then I can give voice lessons and produce music at the same time," was his answer. GyooHee squealed. "Oppa! sing for me!" she begged. "What do I get in return?" Chilhyun asked with a lusty grin. "That all depends on what you want," GyooHee said as she bent over to give him a soft kiss. EunBi interrupted again, unable to bear the sight of their smooching sessions. "Umm...I'm gonna go to the bathroom," she announced, as she walked out of the room. She felt tears in her eyes- knowing that she could never be with Chilhyun oppa because he was taken...taken by her sister which made it more terrible. EunBi searched desperately for the bathroom, and found it was located right next to Chilhyun's room. She closed the door behind her and plopped herself down on the rims of the bathtub.Tears streaked down her face as she put her ear next to the wall, and heard Chilhyun's angelic voice singing to his girlfriend.....GYOOHEE... Hidden In My Heart... CHAPTER 2.....ONE MONTH LATER----> 'I am going to get over Chilhyun oppa even if it kills me,' EunBi thought to herself. She kept saying this over and over silently in her head, and was startled when GyooHee came into her room with a serious look on her face. Sensing that something was wrong, EunBi asked curiously, "Unnie..what's wrong?" GyooHee sat down on the beanbag across from EunBi's. She looked so pensive and worried. "Eunnie yah.." she said slowly. "I-I-" she closed her eyes for a second and continued, "I really need someone to talk to. If-if I don't say this to anyone, I will burst!" she finally said. EunBi sat up in her beanbag and looked at her sister carefully. "You can talk to me about anything, unnie. What is it? Is it about Chilhhyun oppa?" EunBi asked with more intense curiosity. After a short moment of silence, GyooHee answered. "Yes..it is," she said. "It is." EunBi gasped and sat back a little in her beanbag chair. "What about Chilhyun oppa?" she asked urgently. "Come on unnie...You're lagging!" EunBi felt a wave of guilt for saying that. It was hard for her to be patient when things had to do with Chilhyun oppa. "Okay...Here I go," GyooHee said with a heavy sigh. "Do you remember that one guy I told you about from that party a long time ago?" "Uh-huh," EunBi answered quickly. "Well, I bumped into him 3 weeks ago again at a club," she continued. "And?" EunBi asked impatiently. "And....I began to see him behind Chilhyun oppa's back," GyooHee said calmly. She seemed to show no guilt. EunBi felt a pinch of shock in her heart and she was furious. But she dared not show her anger to her sister. "Unnie!" EunBi cried out in a shocked voice. "I can't believe you did that...." she continued, almost choking. GyooHee buried her face in her hands. "I know...It was stupid of me," she said and took her hands away from her face. "But strangely-- strangely I don't regret it." EunBi wanted to lash out and scream, 'HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO CHILHYUN OPPA? YOU SELFISH BITCH!' but once again held her anger in. "And that's not even half of the story," GyooHee continued. She looked up to see her sister staring blankly back with confusion. "I began dating him without anyone knowing...He is so sweet! He's sweeter than any guy I've ever met. He's smart, rich, funny, good-looking....Did I mention that he's rich? I mean gosh...He's the type of guy any girl would dream of dating!" GyooHee said with her eyes lighting up. "But unnie, Chilhyun oppa is all of those things you just listed," EunBi said a bit cross. "I don't understand- why is he so different than Chilhyun oppa?" EunBi began trembling. "Oh...If only you could understand how I feel...EunBi...You'll understand what I'm feeling when you get a boyfriend- but for now...I just can't explain to you my emotions...it's too complicating," she said with a royal tone. EunBi spoke again, and this time with a little more edge to her voice. "Unnie! I haven't experienced love yet....and you're right- I won't understand how you're feeling. But I do know what's right and what's wrong..and what you are doing to Chilhyun oppa is wrong! Sickly, morally wrong!" EunBi blurted out what was on her mind. GyooHee sighed once more. "EunBi yah...If you get mad like this when I just told you that..How will you react to what I'm about to say? I thought you would be on my side," she said, lowering her head. EunBi sighed exasperatingly. "What's next?" EunBi asked calming down. "I have a gut feeling that it's going to be bad news," she said in a fearless tone. "Well...last week...he asked me to move with him to Korea!" GyooHee said excitingly. "And you said no to him right?" EunBi asked, looking at her shameless sister. After a long moment of silence, EunBi repeated, "Right?" GyooHee bit her lip. She hesitated for a moment and replied, "No...I said yes to him. I said yes, EunBi..." "So it's simple as that, huh? You're just gonna leave Chilhyun oppa in the cold like that?! Don't you care about him anymore? How are you gonna tell him about this? If I were you, I'd be ashamed to show my face! How unnie? Huh? How are you gonna tell him?" EunBi said emotionally. Tears started forming in her eyes, but she did not allow them to fall. GyooHee lost the sparkle in her eyes. They turned dark and matte. "That's the bad part," GyooHee said quietly. "EunBi yah..I was thinking- maybe you could tell Chilhyun oppa for me? I know it's a big favor to ask, but I just can't face him and tell him personally...It's too hard and so-" "And so you want me to do your dirty work for you?" EunBi cut in sharply. "Well, if you want to put it that way..." GyooHee answered simply. EunBi could not believe what she was hearing. How could her unnie do something so hurtful to Chilhyun oppa? "Think of who you're throwing away," EunBi said bitterly. "What a waste of a perfectly good-looking, sweet guy," She continued, glaring at her sister. "Well, I've already made my decision- I'm moving and that's end of the story. Besides, Chilhyun oppa probably cheated on me anyways," GyooHee said casually. EunBi continued to glare with a disgusted face. "When will you be leaving? Does mom and dad know? You'd better phone them right now...No, wait..don't. You'll ruin their vacation," EunBi said monotonously. "I'm leaving tomorrow..and I have no intention on telling mom and dad...They'll oppose of me moving..." GyooHee answered. "Well, DUH! You're only 18 years old! What kind of parents won't oppose?" EunBi informed her sister. GyooHee simply ignored her comment. "So are you gonna tell Chilhyun oppa or what?" GyooHee asked as if she were the one being annoyed. "Yeah-- I'll tell him. He deserves better than to have a bitch like you telling him," EunBi said coldly. This was the first time she had ever spoken to her sister like that. "I bet you already slept with Mr. What's-His-Face by now, being the whore that you are." "Actually, his name is JoonWoo...and yes, I slept with him," GyooHee replied simply. "You've known this guy for two weeks and you already let him into your pants?" EunBi asked unbelievably. "3 weeks to be exact...and what's your problem? You're just jealous cuz you don't know what it's like to get laid!" GyooHee remarked coldly. EunBi thought for a moment and said, "No, I don't know what it's like to get laid. How is it like unnie?" EunBi asked in extreme sarcasm. "Do you just crawl up a chicken's ass and wait till you're laid?" she continued, feeling proud to stand up for herself. GyooHee gave her sister a sharp, piercing look and got up to walk out of the room. She reached the door and turned around. "Don't be missing me while I'm gone," she said snobbishly, then turned and walked out. EunBi couldn't help but yell out, "Don't worry! I won't miss you!" She fell back, exhausted from the talk with her sister. She closed her eyes thinking of Chilhyun oppa. 'Tomorrow is going to be a tragic day', she thought to herself...for she will have to go to Chilhyun oppa and break the news.... Hidden In My Heart... CHAPTER 3...THE NEXT DAY... EunBi awoke and found the bright sun streaming in through her curtains. She glanced at her clock. It was 10:30 A.M. 'Wow...I slept a lot...' she thought to herself. EunBi groaned as she remembered the talk she had with her sister the other day. She hated GyooHee unnie for making her do the dirty work...and their parents...'How am I gonna tell umma and appa (mom and dad)?' she asked herself as she got up and headed towards the bathroom. EunBi grabbed her toothbrush and squeezed toothpaste onto it. She began brushing her teeth when she noticed that GyooHee's toothbrush was gone. EunBi panicked. 'She didn't leave yet, did she?' EunBi questioned herself. With her toothbrush still in her mouth, EunBi walked towards GyooHee's room. She knocked on the door once...no answer. She knocked again...still no answer. EunBi opened the door just enough to view her sister's bed--which was empty, but neatly made. EunBi opened the door wider. Her small eyes grew larger when she saw that her sister's closet was empty also. EunBi walked in, still with the foaming toothpaste and toothbrush in her mouth. "Unnie?" she called with a muffled voice, trying hard not to spit the foam out. EunBi knew her sister was gone, but called out again, "Unnie?!" EunBi ran towards the bathroom, quickly gargled several times with water, wiped her mouth, and ran back into her sister's room. EunBi felt her stomach sink. "UNNNNNIIEEEEE!!" she cried. EunBi sank to the floor. 'How could Gyoo unnie do this to me?' she asked herself. 'No..how could she do this to Chilhyun oppa?', she restated the question. EunBi lifted her head and found that there was a flowery-pink envelope on the bed. she picked herself up from the floor and grabbed it. With trembling fingers, she nearly tore it open to reveal the contents inside. Dear EunBi, Umma, and Appa, I am probably on a plane to Korea as you read this letter. I have no regrets of deciding to move to Korea with JoonWoo oppa...I know you guys probably hate me for leaving, but I did it for my own good. I want to be independent and start a life of my own...Don't worry...JoonWoo oppa treats me well. Like I said, he's a really sweet guy. She picked up the phone and dialed Chilhyun oppa's number. After three rings, a female voice picked up. "Hello?" she said cheerfully. It was Chilhyun oppa's mom. "Uh..ahn nyung ha sae yo (formal hello)..." EunBi said slowly. Is Chilhyun oppa home?" "Oh yes..hold on a second..." she said as EunBi heard her calling his name. "Hello?" It was Chilhyun oppa. EunBi froze as she heard his voice, forgetting what she was supposed to say. "Hello?" he asked again. "Uhh...Chilhyun oppa..it's me...EunBi..." she finally responded with a quiet voice. "Oh! Hi EunBi! How are you doing?!" he asked cheerfully. "Good..thanks...But umm..oppa, do you have any plans today?" EunBi asked shyly. "Hmm...no...nope, I don't," he answered assuringly. "Is it okay if GyooHee and I come by later?" EunBi asked dumbly. She knew very well that GyooHee would not be going with her. "Sure...but where's GyooHee? Is she still sleeping or something?" he asked. "Uhh...no-- she just stepped out of the house for a while," EunBi lied. "Oh okay," Chilhyun said cooly. "Then I'll see you two later then?" "Yeah...does 3:00 sound good to you?" she asked. "Yeah...that's fine," he replied. And with that, the two hung up. EunBi headed to her room to get dressed. ---------------> 3:00 P.M. EunBi was ready to go to Chilhyun oppa's house. She had put on a lavender flower skirt with a matching 3/4 sleeve shirt to go with it. She pulled her black shoulder length hair into a ponytail and clipped her bangs back. 'I might as well look clean and happy in front of Chilhyun oppa,' she thought to herself. EunBi stepped outside and walked half a block to the bus stop. In perfect timing, the bus pulled up to the curb as EunBi got up to go in. Within 10 minutes, EunBi found herself standing in front of Chilhyun oppa's house. She took a deep breath and exhaled. "God, forgive me for what i'm about to do," she whispered. EunBi went up the steps and rang the doorbell with trembling fingers. Seconds later, EunBi heard Chilhyun's faint voice calling out "I'll get it umma!" as he opened the door. EunBi smiled at the sight of his beautiful face. "Hi!" he said, with his bangs in his face. He brushed them away while his eyes searched behind EunBi, making no eye contact with her. It was clear that he was looking for GyooHee. "Hi oppa..." EunBi trailed off and lowered her head. Puzzled, Chilhyun looked at her and asked, "Where's GyooHee?" "Uh..oppa..I need to sit down," EunBi said, as she suddenly felt light-headed. "Yeah sure...come on in," Chilhyun said, still puzzled. He led her to his room. She sat down on his familiar bed, and he sat across from her. EunBi sighed deeply. "What's wrong?" Chilhyun asked sensitively. EunBi looked up and saw his sparkling eyes looking back with curiosity. "Oppa...I lied...I'm sorry..I lied..I didn't mean to-- I had to ..She left me no choice..Really..I-" EunBi broke down in front of him. 'EunBi you dork! stop it!' she thought to herself. "Whoa! EunBi realized that she was breathing heavily, and tried to calm down. Then she spoke, "Unnie..GyooHee unnie left, oppa!" she managed to say to him. "Left where?" he asked calmly. "To--to Korea...with JoonWoo oppa..." she continued to stammer. "Korea? With JoonWoo? Who's that?" Chilhyun asked with deeper bewilderment. EunBi explained to him that GyooHee had left for Korea with another guy, and told Chilhyun all of the details of the conversation she had with her sister the night before. Chilhyun trembled with anger. "That bitch!" he yelled as he slammed the framed picture of him and GyooHee down to the floor. "Dammit!" he raged on in front of EunBi. She had never seen this side of him before and it tore her apart to see him like this. "Why? Why EunBi, why?" he demanded an answer. "I--I don't know oppa...she just..I don't know." she said. "When did she leave? Do your parents know about this? Did she tell you any specific reasons why she left?" Chilhyun was asking endless questions. In desperation for him to calm down, EunBi answered him immediately. "She left today...my parents don't know about it but they're coming home tonight from their vacation...and--" she paused. "Oppa- can I ask you a question?" she asked. "Yeah--" he said automatically. "Did you cheat on GyooHee unnie?" EunBi questioned. "Is that why she left?" Chilhyun asked with a scoff. "Chi-- that-" he stopped talking. "Oppa- she insisted that you cheated on her or something," EunBi informed, not being able to remember clearly. She wouldn't be surprised if Chilhyun oppa did cheat on her because Chilhyun was such a ladies' man- good looking, smart, funny, rich- everything girls look for, all in one package. All of the girls swooned over him. Chilhyun's face turned pale. He did not answer EunBi's question. As an act of comfort, EunBi put her hand on his shoulder. "Oppa..I'm sorry..." she said with a sympathetic voice. Unexpectedly, Chilhyun threw EunBi's hand off of his shoulder. "Get out," he said calmly. "I don't want to see you or GyooHee ever again," he said. EunBi was shocked. 'Why oppa?' she asked silently, afraid to ask it aloud. "Oppa...It's not my fault...Don't blame me! I'm just the messenger here..." she told him, almost begging. She continued, "I don't see why you-" "I said get out!!" he yelled, ignoring what EunBi was trying to say. EunBi felt as if her heart was being torn apart. It ached with unbearable pain. With tears in her eyes, she headed out of his room. 'Oppa..I love you,'she said silently. She heard Chilhyun slamming his door behind her. EunBi showed herself to the front door, and closed it softly behind her. She decided to walk home to think things out. 'Why oppa? Why?
