CHAPTER 12

~The Next Day~
It was almost noon, and EunBi was waiting patiently for her guest to arrive. She had finally gotten the will-power to get up and stop moping over ChiilHyun oppa...her mind was too focused on finding out about GyooHee unnie's personal life with JoonWoo.
About ten minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Feeling a little nervous, EunBi walked over to open it. She found herself looking up at a handsome guy in a gray suit...but he was not even half as good looking as ChilHyun oppa.

"Hi...you must be EunBi," he said with a smile.

"Yes...please come in."

When EunBi led him to the living room couch, he finally asked, "So where's GyooHee?"
There was a tint of eagerness in the way he spoke.

EunBi had no other option but to tell the truth.

"Well, unnie left on a little trip to her friend's beach house yesterday..."

JoonWoo's face was filled with confusion.

"Oh....then she wouldn't know that I'm here, huh? When will she be back then? I need to see her..." he said anxiously.

EunBi nodded.

"I know...but how did you know where to call?" she asked. "I mean...how did you know that she'd be here?"

JoonWoo scratched his head. "Well...I kind of figured that this would be the only place that she would go...I can't believe she just left like that...I mean, it was so sudden and out-of-the blue," he answered with a confused expression.

EunBi studied his face; he was genuinely confused and hurt by GyooHee's actions.

"Oppa..." she trailed off and hesitated, blushing slightly. "Is it okay if I call you oppa?" she asked quietly before she went on with what she was about to say.

"Sure," he said with a smile.

EunBi nodded and continued.

"Did you ever cheat on her? I mean GyooHee unnie..."

JoonWoo did not hesitate to answer.

"Of course not...why would I cheat on my own fiance?" he said with confidence.

EunBi just nodded.

"Why? Did GyooHee say that?" JoonWoo asked while his eyebrows scrunched up. "Dammit...I went on a business trip...why does she have to jump to stupid conclusions?" he said, as his anger was starting to rise.

EunBi regretted triggering his anger like that, so she quickly changed the subject.

"But, I want to know some things...so let's start from the beginning...why did you run off to Korea or Japan or where ever in the first place?" she asked curiously.

"Run off? What do you mean run off? We both had permission from our parents to go together..." he said in puzzlement.

EunBi was getting confused now.

"Wait...so you don't know that GyooHee unnie ran away without telling us?" she asked to make sure.

"I had no idea...she told me that she told you and your parents and that they approved," JoonWoo said honestly. "No wonder..."

"No wonder what?" EunBi asked.

"Well...before we left...I asked GyooHee if I could meet your parents...and she told me that I didn't need to...she kept on opposing to my suggestions to meet with them..."

EunBi nodded. Everything was slowly starting to fit together and make sense. She sighed...she sighed with confusion and she sighed because she didn't know what the hell her sister was trying to pull.

"I didn't even know she did that..." JoonWoo continued, still in quite of a shock.

"Did you guys have a good relationship with each other?" EunBi asked suddenly.

JoonWoo smiled. "Of course...we were so happy together...we fought a couple times, but what kind of a couple doesn't fight? Every couple has their ups and downs, but they always work through it...everything was going great! Which is why I really don't understand why she left ..." he said, as his smile began to fade.

"Hmm.." EunBi thought loudly. This was a big huge mystery to her, and she felt that she HAD to crack the case...if she wanted to be with ChilHyun oppa. "You guys are still engaged, right?" she questioned.

JoonWoo nodded and raised his hand to show EunBi the gold band on his ring finger.

----------> Meanwhile...at HeeJun/ChilHyun's house<----------
ChilHyun sat thinking deeply about EunBi.

'Should I call her or not?' he debated back and forth. 'If I did call her...what would I say?'

He got up from his chair and grabbed a flower from a nearby vase, and began picking the pedals off one by one.

"Call her...don't call her...call her...don't call her..."

He continued picking the pedals off childishly, and his heart jumped out of his chest when he got to the last pedal...

"Call her..."

He began to feel weak and jittery, but he was secretly happy that the last pedal told him to call EunBi. He went to the phone and clicked it on...but then he immediately clicked it off.

'I'm not gonna call her...I have a better idea...'

Smiling happily with his idea, he turned on the phone again and tapped in the numbers of HeeJun's cell phone.

"Hello?" HeeJun's voice answered.

"Hi, hyung...it's me," ChilHyun replied.

"Oh, hey...what's up?"

"Hyung...did you take EunBi home from the airport the day before yesterday?" ChilHyun asked hopefully.

"Yeah..."

"Great! Do you remember the directions to her house?" ChilHyun asked happily. He could hear HeeJun laughing a little at his request.

"So, you're gonna go visit her?" he asked.

"Yup...I was gonna call her, but I decided to give her a surprise visit," ChilHyun answered proudly.

HeeJun was glad that ChilHyun was willing to work things out with EunBi, so he gave him the directions to her house.

"Thanks, hyung...I appreciate it," ChilHyun said gratefully.

"No problem...go get her Tiger!" HeeJun said, trying to poke some fun into the conversation.

"Haha...funny," ChilHyun laughed. "Hey, are you okay? You sound tired," he asked worriedly. HeeJun sounded pooped ever since he picked up the phone.

"Yeah...I'm fine...it's just that it's getting frustrating over here," HeeJun said in a worn-out voice. "Bada and Shoo are recording right now...and it's hard to record when all the members aren't here."

"Where's Eugene?" ChilHyun asked.

"Oh, she's in Guam because of a family emergency...she's coming back in a few days though," HeeJun answered.

"Oh, I see...then what's going to happen to the tour in Japan?" ChilHyun asked.

HeeJun shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to push it back a little."

ChilHyun nodded. "I'll go to the studio tomorrow to help or something...sorry hyung," he apologized.

"It's alright...just get better and come whenever," HeeJun said understandingly.

"Kay, thanks...well, I'm gonna get going now..."

"Oh, yeah...hope things turn out well," HeeJun said as he crossed his fingers. "I'll keep my fingers crossed and I'll pray for ya!"

ChilHyun laughed as he hung up and went upstairs to make himself look nice.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

==========> Back at EunBi's house <==========
JoonWoo glanced at his watch; it had been a couple of hours since he got off the plane, and he was hungry.

"EunBi...do you mind if we go someplace else to talk?"

"What did you have in mind?" she asked.

"Well, I was wondering if you would like to join me for a late lunch," he answered.

"Sure...why not?" she said as she got up from the couch. "Give me a few minutes to freshen up?"

JoonWoo nodded as EunBi smiled and went upstairs. Not knowing what to wear, EunBi finally chose a simple summer dress and a light jacket. She ran her fingers through her hair, put on a sheer lipstick, grabbed her purse, and went downstairs.

"Shall we go?" she asked politely.

JoonWoo nodded and headed towards the door. Following closely behind, EunBi was led to a shiny silver Benz parked in her driveway, which reminded her of how rich JoonWoo is; she felt a bit intimidated, but shrugged the feeling off.

"Oh! Wait...I forgot my house keys!" EunBi suddenly said when she realized that she hadn't locked the front door. "I'll be right back!" she called out as she ran towards the front porch.

*~*

ChilHyun glanced down at the little white peice of paper where he had written down EunBi's address.

"12103 Denvers Drive," he murmured to himself as he spotted EunBi's house from a distance. He froze when he saw a guy standing next to a Benz in the driveway.

"Must be the wrong house," ChilHyun told himself as he parked his car against the nearest curb. To reassure himself, he checked the address on the paper and looked up to the house again...

"It is 12103," he said softly. "Then..."

ChilHyun gasped when he saw EunBi come out of the house...he was close enough to see that she was smiling at the guy standing next to the Benz.

"Who the fuck is that?" ChilHyun said angrily as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. He watched like a hawk as the guy opened the door of the passenger's seat as EunBi got in. ChilHyun's happiness and confidence died away.

'Now I know why you rejected me...' he thought sadly. He turned his face when the Benz drove past his car so that EunBi would not be able to recognize him.

Feeling sad and heart-broken, ChilHyun started his engine and drove away...he didn't know where he was driving to, but all he knew was that he needed to go someplace far to clear his mind......

Hidden In My Heart...

CHAPTER 13

*The Next Day*

EunBi was bored and had nothing to do...so all she could do was think about ChilHyun oppa and GyooHee unnie.

'How could GyooHee unnie just come back to ChilHyun oppa when she's engaged?' she thought curiously. That part just did not make any sense to her. 'And how could ChilHyun oppa take unnie back so quickly? Actually...that's probably my fault...'

EunBi began to cry again...oh how she regretted rejecting ChilHyun oppa in the first place.

'None of this would be happening if I hadn't rejected him like that...why do I have to be such a complicated person? I make things so hectic...'

**RingRing**

EunBi wiped her tears with her sleeve and picked up the phone.

"Hello?" she answered, trying to sound normal.

"Hey, EunBi...this is HeeJun..."

EunBi sat up straight and cleared her throat.

"Hi oppa!" she greeted cheerfully.

"How are you doing?" HeeJun asked.

"Oh....pretty good, I guess..." she lied, not wanting HeeJun oppa to worry about her.

"That's good...umm...EunBi yah...by any chance, have you seen ChilHyun lately?" he asked, trying hard not to sound too worried. He had tried to get in touch with ChilHyun for the past couple hours, but it seemed to be impossible to reach him.

EunBi frowned. "Well...the last time I saw him was when JungHye left for Canada...but why do you ask?"

HeeJun sighed. "The thing is..." he was going to tell EunBi about ChilHyun's intentions of visiting her yesterday, but didn't think it was wise to tell her. "Uh...I can't contact him...he's not at home and he won't pick up his cell phone," HeeJun explained after a short moment of silence.

'How come EunBi didn't see ChilHyun yesterday? He went to visit her...' he thought to himself curiously.

EunBi began to worry. "Then where could he be?" she asked.

HeeJun sighed again. "Well, maybe he just went somewhere...don't worry...I'm sorry to bother you like this, but I just had a feeling he'd be with you...but I guess I was wrong..."

"Why would you think that he'd be with me?" EunBi asked.

"I--- I dunno...well, thanks anyways. Hey, EunBi...could you do me a favor?" HeeJun asked, suddenly having an idea.

EunBi nodded. "Sure..."

"Okay...I'm gonna be stuck here at the studio for a while longer...I have lots of work to do, so can you just go check up on ChilHyun for me? Just anytime would be great...I know I sound like a worried mother, but---" HeeJun trailed off. 'There's no reason for ChilHyun to have not gone to EunBi's house yesterday...what happened?'

"But?" EunBi asked impatiently. She was getting a bit nervous of HeeJun's favor.

"But...sometimes when ChilHyun is left alone by himself for a long time...he can't take care of himself," HeeJun finished his sentence.

"What do you mean?" EunBi asked. 'I mean surely he's a grown man, not a child...'

"I mean...for example...he doesn't eat...he just stays cooped up in his room writing and listening to music...he needs someone to tell him to eat or he won't bother to eat himself...it's happened before--" HeeJun explained.

"Oh...I see..." EunBi said slowly.

"He works too hard...and when he works too hard...he doesn't think about doing anything else," HeeJun explained with more depth.

"No wonder why he's so skinny," EunBi said worriedly.

"So will you do it?" HeeJun asked once again.

EunBi hesitated. "You want me to just go anytime and just check up on him, right?" she reassured.

"Yup...is that a yes, then?"

EunBi hesitated again. "Okay...I'll do it..." she finally said, a bit reluctantly.

"Thanks...I'm just worried about why he's not answering the phone..." HeeJun said.

"Well, I'll go see what he's up to...so I'll talk to you later oppa...bye," EunBi ended the conversation and hung up.

~*~
HeeJun smiled at his plan...it had worked like a charm.

'But why didn't ChilHyun visit her yesterday? And where the hell could he be?' he questioned to himself. 'Well, if he didn't visit her, I'm glad I convinced her to go visit him...'

He felt bad for lying to EunBi about ChilHyun's "incapabilities of taking care of himself" but it was the only way to make her go see him.

HeeJun chuckled to himself. 'I hope EunBi doesn't find out that I kinda lied to her...hehe...but it's for her own good...'
~*~

EunBi just sat there thinking with the phone still clutched tightly in her hands.

'How could I possibly have the guts to go see ChilHyun oppa? What would he think of me when he sees me?' she thought negatively. The thought of seeing ChilHyun oppa made her nervous.

*RingRing*

"Hello?" EunBi answered immediately.

"EunBi yah! It's me!"

"Oh...hi unnie..."

"Sorry I didn't call earlier...I couldn't get to a phone," GyooHee apologized.

"It's okay...are you having fun there?" EunBi asked with very little enthusiasm.

"Yeah...I'm having the time of my life!" GyooHee replied with an unnecessary laugh and hoot.

"Oh...that's good..."

"So..anything happen while I was gone?" GyooHee asked.

"Uh..." EunBi thought about JoonWoo oppa. 'Should I tell her? Or no, not yet...'
"No, nothing special really," she finished her sentence.

"Okay...did ChilHyun oppa call for me?" GyooHee asked. She knew that ChilHyun oppa wouldn't call for her, but thought it would be fun to bug her sister.

EunBi rolled her eyes. "Nope..."

"Okay, then...I'll be back in a few days, so enjoy your time without me! hehehehe..."
GyooHee giggled annoyingly.

"Haha...I will..." EunBi said with sarcasm.

"Well, I gotta get going, so bye now!" GyooHee said with a high-pitched valley-girl voice and hung up.

EunBi sighed and threw the phone onto the other side of the couch.

"You suck unnie...I hate you..." she whispered as she yawned and layed herself down.
"Tomorrow, oppa...I will go to see you tomorrow..." she told herself before closing her eyes. She was unsure if she would be able to muster up enough courage to see ChilHyun oppa tomorrow...but it had to be either now or never.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
::The Next Day::
EunBi stood in front of her closet, looking for something to wear. After deciding for a few minutes, she finally settled for a red plaid knee-skirt with a black button-up dress shirt. She examined herself in the mirror; satisfied with what she saw, she smiled and went into the bathroom to apply some makeup.
'Should I go for a simple-natural look or a dramatic-madeup look?'
Opting for a natural look, she grabbed her eyeliner and traced a thin, almost invisible line along the top of her eyelashes. Next, she dabbed on some concealer, patted on some pressed powder, and put on some shiny lipgloss.
EunBi noticed that she was trembling a bit. 'Gosh, why do i have to be so nervous? It's just a harmless visit...'
She stood back and looked at herself in the mirror...to add one last finishing touch, she grabbed a tube of mascara and coated her eyelashes lightly.
'Wait...ugh...I'm so nervous...I can't go...man...I have to straighten things up though...I could at least apologize to ChilHyun oppa...' she took a deep breath and sighed. She found a small hair claw and pinned half of her hair up...she was about to put in her contacts when the phone rang.
"Hello?" she answered calmly.
"Uh, yes...may I speak to Lee GyooHee?" a woman asked.
"Oh, she's not home right now...but may I take a message?" EunBi asked as she quickly grabbed a notepad and a pencil.
"Uh, yes...sure...this is nurse Judy from Hillside Community Hospital...Lee GyooHee
missed her appointment for a check-up yesterday," the woman said.
"Oh, I see...a check-up?" EunBi asked. "Ma'am...is there something wrong with her?" she asked worriedly.
"Oh, no no no...absolutely not. Umm, is this her mother speaking? You must be very proud," the nurse said.
"Oh, no...I'm her sister," EunBi said, a bit annoyed.
"Oh, I'm sorry...you must be happy too," she said cheerfully.
"Happy? I'm sorry, but may I ask why?" EunBi asked in puzzlement.
"Why yes...didn't you hear the news?"
"I'm sorry...what news?" EunBi asked eagerly.
"Well...your sister is pregnant..." the nurse announced with a calm tone.
EunBi almost dropped the phone due to the impact of the shocking news.
"P--pregnant?" she asked slowly. "Oh, no ma'am...you must have the wrong person, cuz my sister is not pregnant," she said in disbelief.
"Oh, no...I'm sure that I'm not mistaken...I remember her clearly," the nurse said. "I had such a hard time contacting her after her first appointment...she didn't tell us her recent phone number, and so I went through a lot of trouble tracking down her old hospital records...and that is how I got this phone number."
"Are you sure it's Lee, GyooHee?" EunBi asked once again.
"Miss, I'm very sure...I have her pregnancy test results right here in my hand..."
"No, but it can't--" EunBi's hand and voice were trembling unbelievably.
"Miss, are you alright?" the nurse asked.
"Uh, yes...thank you for telling me," EunBi was barely able to gasp out. She hung up the phone and sank to the floor.
'Unnie...you're pregnant? Is it really true? Who's baby is it?' EunBi thought frantically as black tears rolled down her white cheeks. Her worst fear could come true.... 'Is it ChilHyun oppa's baby? What if it is? There's such a strong doubt that it's not ChilHyun's baby...but who's is it then? Who? No--this can't happen...why do you have to ruin my life like this unnie?'
"Nnoooooo!" EunBi screamed out as she held her head. "Unnieeee!!" she wailed as she was beginning to get furious.
Forgetting that she had to go to ChilHyun oppa's house, she ran to her room and jumped on her bed, bawling. Burying her entire face into her pillow, EunBi cried.
"Could it be ? ChilHyun oppa...did you really get GyooHee unnie pregnant? How could you?"
EunBi lifted her head and found that her tears had made her eyeliner and mascara run; there were black stains all over her pillow.
"I wish I could turn back time...I wish I could've been with ChilHyun oppa at least
once before this all happened...now I know for sure that it's too late..." EunBi whispered through her tears. "I'm gonna kill GyooHee unnie...I feel so bad for JoonWoo oppa...what will he think? He's still engaged to a whore who cheated on him..."
EunBi felt as though she could not live. She felt the burning pains of heartbreak overwhelming her as she lay there and cried.
"What am I gonna do now? I have to let you go then, ChilHyun oppa...what else is there to do?..."
