Hidden In My Heart ::FINALE:: "Unnie...did you call umma and appa (mom and dad)?" EunBi asked as she helped her sister pack. "Yup...JoonWoo and I are gonna go visit them after we go to Japan first..." GyooHee answered as she stuffed her suitcase. "They went crazy when I called them..." she said with a laugh. "Hehe...of course! They haven't seen or talked to their daughter in six years! What do you expect?" Eunbi asked, laughing. GyooHee bent her neck back and sighed. "Done packing!" she announced. "Don't wanna be late for our flight...what time is it?" EunBi glanced down at her watch. "7:30 A.M." "Okay...crap...JoonWoo oppa is coming at eight and I look like shit..." GyooHee said worriedly as she ran her fingers through her hair. "Ugh...I can squeeze in a short shower," she said as she hurried into the bathroom. EunBi sighed and sat down on the bed. She felt so happy now that everything was finally cleared. 'I wonder what it was that knocked the sense into unnie...' she thought to herself for the millionth time and laughed out loud. ~*~30 minutes later~*~ JoonWoo held GyooHee's suitcases in each hand and walked out to load them into his car. GyooHee was busy scarfing down the pancakes and hash browns that JoonWoo had bought her for breakfast. "EunBi...are you sure I can eat yours too? Aren't you hungry?" she asked with her mouth full. EunBi laughed at the sight of her sister. "I'm sure, unnie...besides, you're eating for two people..." GyooHee smiled as she sipped her orange juice. "Ready to go sweety?" JoonWoo asked when he came into the kitchen. "Yeah, I guess I'll just have to wrap up the rest of the food and eat it on the way to the airport," GyooHee answered as she got up. The three of them walked out to JoonWoo's waiting car. "Bye EunBi...we'll come back to visit...or maybe you can come visit us some time also..." JoonWoo said warmly. EunBi smiled. "Yeah, bye oppa." GyooHee turned until she was fully facing her sister. "Bye EunBi...take care while I'm gone," she said as she hugged her sister tightly. "Kay, unnie...you too...call me when you get there." "I will...I'm so proud of you EunBi...you're the best sister anyone could have...you actually put up with all of my bitchiness all this time..." EunBi giggled as GyooHee pulled away and went to the car. "I'll probably come back in a few weeks so don't miss me too much!" she said and got into the passenger's seat. "Tell HeeJun oppa that I'm sorry I can't meet his fiance today!" she called out. "Kay, bye unnie!" EunBi yelled back as the car drove away. ~*~ EunBi began to get ready to meet HeeJun's fiance; she was invited by ChilHyun oppa to have lunch with HeeJun and HyunJi (his fiance). In 20 minutes, ChilHyun arrived and knocked on the door. Excited and feeling a bit shy, EunBi ran over to open it. "Hi, oppa!" she greeted brightly. "Hey, how's my EunBi doing? These are for you..." he said as he held out a bouquet of beautiful red roses. "What are these for?" she asked, surprised. "Is it a special day for us today?" she panicked, trying to think if it's some kind of an anniversary or someone's birthday. ChilHyun smiled. "Nope...just cuz," he said with a mysterious glint in his eyes. "Maybe it is a special day," he said as he kissed EunBi lightly on the lips. She giggled helplessly. "Thank you..." she said, and headed to the kitchen to put the flowers in a vase. "Shall we go now?" ChilHyun asked when she came back. "Yes sir," she answered childishly as the two headed out to have lunch. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* At the Restaurant*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Over here!" HeeJun waved to ChilHyun and EunBi. The two made their way to the table HeeJun had reserved, and EunBi smiled when she saw his fiance seated next to him. HeeJun got up as HyunJi did the same and bowed respectfully. "EunBi , this is my fiance, HyunJi...and HyunJi, this is my dongseng, EunBi, and also ChilHyun's girlfriend," HeeJun introduced happily. "It's nice to meet you," EunBi said as she bowed. "Yes, it's nice to meet you...HeeJun shi has been telling me a lot of good things about you," HyunJi said as she smiled. EunBi blushed a little and sat down next to ChilHyun. ~*~After Lunch~*~ "It was really nice to meet you, EunBi..." HyunJi said politely. "I had a good time...maybe we'll see more of each other soon?" EunBi asked. She had gotten very friendly and acquainted with HyunJi during those few hours at lunch. "Yes, we will..." she replied back. "See you later, EunBi," HeeJun said as he led HyunJi to his car. "Okay, bye oppa!" "Bye HyunJi noona!" ChilHyun called out like a little boy and grabbed EunBi's hand gently. The two got into the car and ChilHyun started driving. "I'm taking you out to dinner tonight..." he said enexpectedly. "You are?" EunBi asked. Now she really began panicking, thinking that she had forgotten that today was a special occasion. "Yup...so dress formally," he said as he smiled widely. "Why? Where are we going?" she asked with large eyes. "It's a surprise..." he said as he raised his eyebrows and smirked. "Okay..." EunBi began to feel a but more relaxed, thinking that this "surprise dinner" was just another one of ChilHyun's special ways of showing his love. "So be ready by 5:00 and I'll pick you up..." "Okay." "Five sharp!" "Oaky, okay...I'll be ready..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* It was 4:30 P.M. and EunBi once again found herself struggling to find something to wear. 'Something formal? Gosh...I don't have anything formal...' Then she remembered the elegant evening dress she had bought for a couple hundred dollars at a boutique a while back...she had never worn it before because there wasn't a formal occasion that was suitable enough to wear at. "I knew that dress would come in handy," EunBi said out loud as she thought of the time she bought the dress. It was so beautiful yet expensive, but she couldn't resist. Feeling relieved that she knew what she was going to wear, EunBi slid her closet door open widely to find the dress, which was hanging in the back of the rack. She pulled it out and examined it in awe. 'Such a beautiful dress...' she thought as she admired the soft pink color and glittery sequins. Humming softly, she went to the bathroom to apply some make-up and do her hair. ~o~o~o~o~o~o~o~o~ EunBi came downstairs, all ready to go. She glanced at the clock; 4:59... 'Chi...he's gonna be late...' she thought as she smiled to herself. *KnockKnock* Surprised at his timing, EunBi grabbed her matching pink purse and went to the door. "Hi, Chil---" EunBi expected to see ChilHyun oppa, but instead, found HeeJun standing in the doorway. "Hi, EunBi..." he greeted happliy. "HeeJun, oppa...what are you---" "I know what you're thinking..." Heejun said as he sighed and looked down at the light grey tux that he was wearing. "Not my color, huh?" EunBi laughed at the comment. "It looks fine, but---" "I know, I know...where's ChilHyunnie oppa?" HeeJun finished EunBi's sentence with a girly voice. "Come on...I'll tell you on the way..." "No, but---" "Trust me!" Heejun said as he pulled EunBi outside and closed the door. EunBi just scrunched her eyebrows and turned around to lock the door. HeeJun led her to his car and they both got in. Before starting the car, he turned to EunBi and smiled. "Well, since you're wondering...ChilHyun couldn't make it tonight. Some urgent work came up at the studio and he had to go...so he called me and told me to take you out instead..." EunBi frowned with disappointment. 'What the hell? I dress up like this and he's not even here to see me...chi...' "Don't be too disappointed...it'll be fun...just think of it as a celebration of my engagement to HyunJi and your relationship with ChilHyun..." EunBi couldn't help but feel upset and a bit angry. HeeJun could see that she was getting kind of pissed, so he quickly thought of a way to make her smile. "Oh, and one more thing...sorry about this, but I have to blindfold you..." he said with a big grin. "What? Why? I can't...it'll---" "Ruin your make-up?" Heejun asked like a mind-reader. "Well, I came prepared..." he said as he bent down and got a pair of glasses out. EunBi could see that a piece of cloth was neatly taped over the lenses. "You can't be serious..." she said as she scoffed. "I am, so put 'em on...where I'm taking you is a top secret place, and if you knew where and how to get there, I'd have to kill you." After staring at HeeJun incredulously for a few seconds, EunBi grabbed the glasses from him and put them on. HeeJun laughed to himself as he started the engine and began to drive. "I really don't understand why I have to keep my eyes covered though..." EunBi thought aloud when she felt the car moving into the streets. It was frustrating to be unable to see. "I told you already..." HeeJun said as he kept his eyes focused on the road. EunBi grunted. "I'm gonna give ChilHyun oppa a stern talking-to when he gets back..." she said threateningly. HeeJun couldn't hold back his laughter any longer, and burst out, laughing loudly. "Oppa don't laugh! If you keep laughing, I'm gonna take these stupid glasses off..." "Hey, don't diss my glasses! It took me a while to tape MY hankerchief onto them...and just be happy that I was thoughtful enough not to bring you a REAL blindfold..." HeeJun said as he laughed silently. He had to cough a few times to disguise his laughter. EunBi crossed her arms and sighed. "So where's HyunJi unnie?" she asked, trying to change the subject. "She's at her parents' house," HeeJun answered calmly. EunBi nodded and just sat still. "So what do you think of her?" "I think she's really nice and pretty..." Eunbi commented. "She is, isn't she?" HeeJun said in a dazed tone. EunBi giggled to herself as she put her head back and relaxed. "Are we there yet?" she whined after 15 minutes had passed. She was ready to throw off the glasses. "Nope...just a little more..." HeeJun informed as he sped up the car a bit. After about 10 more minutes of driving, EunBi could feel that the car had stopped. "I'm gonna have to park, so go in first," HeeJun said a little louder than necessary. "So I can take these off?" EunBi asked. "Yup..." HeeJun watched as she carefully removed the glasses, in case she might muss her hair. "Just go in through there...I know that it just looks like a hole in the ground with stairs, but you'll find your way..." HeeJun directed. EunBi looked around; they were in a deserted-looking parking lot and saw a little opening in the ground that HeeJun was talking about. "Why can't you just park here? There's plenty of spaces..." she asked curiously. "I want to park somewhere else...now hurry..." HeeJun said as he motioned his hand towards the opening in the ground with stairs. EunBi scrunched up her face and got out of the car. HeeJun drove off and left her standing there, confused and suspicious. She turned to the "opening in the ground" and walked towards it cautiously. She looked around once more and found that she was near some sort of a private port or beach. "Oh, well..." she thought and shrugged. She peered down the stairs and noticed that it was quite dark down there. 'Where do these stairs lead to?' She went down each step slowly and carefully, wondering where they would take her. When she reached the bottom of the steps, she saw a sign. *~*UNDERWATER CAFE*~* There were two glass doors, but there was no sign of anyone inside...it was too dark to see. Feeling creeped out, EunBi turned to walk back up the stairs to wait for HeeJun oppa. 'Gosh, I'm gonna kill ChilHyun oppa...' Thinking twice, she turned back around and faced the transparent doors. A piece of paper stuck in one of the handles caught her eye. She reached out to grab it, and unfolded it to read its contents. EunBi yah...come in~ She shivered and took a deep breath. 'What the hell is this? Some sort of a game?' she thought as she pulled open one of the doors and entered the mysterious place. It was pitch black and she couldn't see anything but a few blue fluorescent lights scattered in a few different places. Not knowing what to expect, EunBi walked forward a couple steps. There were no sights or sounds except the clicking of her heels on the tile floor. "Hello?" she called out in a tiny voice. Then EunBi could hear ChilHyun oppa's angelic voice singing as the lights slowly came on. *nuh wah nah-You and I* by H.O.T (2nd album) (nuh mahn ee nah ae jun boo in guh ya) you are my everything. ham kae it neun guh shi jo ah nul sarang han guh yah. i like spending all my time with you. that's why i love you. nah reul bo go mi so jit neun nuh yae mo seub ae. the way you smile at me duh oog yong gi reul uhd gae dwae, jung mal go mah wuh. gives me energy, i would like to thank you. him ee deul ddae do it suh, ji chi go pi gon hae. there are hard times when i want to give up. geu rul ddaen hon jah ool go ship ji mahn. at those times, i want to cry alone, but... nuh hee reul saeng gak hae. i think of you. neul ham kae in guh yah... nuh wah nah we are always going to be together... you and i. When he finished singing, he walked the remaining distance over to EunBi. "So what do you think? Did you like it?" he asked eagerly. EunBi answered him with a kiss. "It was beautiful..." she said when she pulled away. ChilHyun smiled and grabbed her hand. "Now's the time to give me my stern talking-to..." he said mischievously. "Huh? How'd you know?" EunBi asked curiously. ChilHyun reached into his pocket and brought out a small black ear-piece attached to a wire. "I wanted to listen to your reaction when HeeJun hyung told you about the whole thing about how I couldn't make it and stuff..." he answered with a smug smile. "You!" EunBi slapped his arm lightly, knowing that she had been fooled, yet she couldn't stop smiling. "Hehe...isn't this place beautiful?" he asked as he looked around. EunBi turned her head and looked around for the first time. She felt her mouth dropping open...it was a very beautiful sight. She felt like she was underwater in a submarine looking out into the ocean; the walls of the entire cafe were made of glass which held the water and sea creatures on the other side, and blue fluorescent lights colored the water a beautiful deep blue. "It's very pretty..." she answered slowly. The entire cafe was built underwater. ChilHyun smiled with satisfaction and led EunBi to the only table in the middle of the cafe. "How'd you get reservations like this?" EunBi asked when she realized that there weren't any other people except for the two of them. "This place isn't open to the public yet, so I made it possible for us to be the first ones here..." ChilHyun answered as he pulled out EunBi's chair for her. She sat down as he did the same. "This place is amazing!" she said as she admired the little school of yellow fish swimming by their table. She jumped when she saw a baby dolphin swim by also. "Don't worry...the dolphins don't bite...there's a glass wall separating them from us..." ChilHyun said when he saw EunBi's expression. He stared at her and smiled. When she caught him staring at her, she fumbled with her fingers. "What?" she asked nervously. The twinkle in his eyes made her melt. "Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?" "Did I ever tell you how beautiful your voice is when you sing?" she asked immediately after. "Well, actually, I realized that I never really sang to you before, so I chose to do it tonight..." he said as he leaned back and smiled. "Oh...why tonight?" "You'll see...shall we order?" ChilHyun asked, slyly changing the subject and handing her a menu. EunBi smiled and took the menu from his offering hand. A waiter approached them with a bottle of champagne sitting in a tub of ice. "May I take your orders?" he asked politely. "I'll have the roasted salmon with wild mushroom risotto," ChilHyun ordered as he closed his menu and looked at EunBi. "Uh...I'll have the grilled fillet mignon with watercress salad," she said as she closed her menu and handed it to the waiter. The waiter nodded and walked away. (I couldn't resist mentioning the food that they were ordering...^^) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ::After Dinner:: EunBi and ChilHyun had finished their dinner and were just relaxing while drinking champagne. "Do you have room left for dessert?" ChilHyun asked with a grin. "I think so..." EunBi said after thinking for a moment. She couldn't tell if she was full or not. ChilHyun just smiled as the head waiter came, holding one plate in each hand. "Peach ambrosia parfait for the monsieur and French lemon custard for the miss," he said in a heavy French accent. "Thank you," EunBi and ChilHyun said together. The waiter smiled, bowed, and walked away. ChilHyun stared at Eunbi, smiling as if he were waiting for something. She just smiled back and looked down to eat her dessert that was set in front of her. She examined her slice of custard-like pie that looked too pretty to eat: a silky yellow triangle with a dallop of whipped cream and garnished with a shiny red cherry. EunBi's eyes almost bulged out of her head when she saw a silver ring hanging on the cherry stem. ChilHyun sat and watched EunBi staring unbelievably at her plate. EunBi blinked her eyes a few times to make sure that she was not hallucinating. She finally realized that ChilHyun was staring at her, so she looked up. He just kept smiling at her. "Oppa..." EunBi tried to talk but was speechless. He bent over and took the ring off of the cherry stem. "I told you today's a special day," he said as he got up and went to EunBi. She watched his every move, and felt her heart beating faster when he kneeled down in front of her. "I wanted to do this earlier, but I thought it'd be too soon...but I can't wait any longer," he said as he looked up at her. "EunBi yah...will you marry me?" he asked as he gently took her hand and slid the diamond ring on her slender finger. EunBi just stared down at the ring, and when she saw ChilHyun's questioning eyes, she nodded happily with tears that were about to fall. "Yes, oppa..." she said as she laughed and cried at the same time. More than satisfied with her reaction, ChilHyun got up and hugged her. "I'm so happy..." she whispered as she wiped her tears away. ChilHyun let go and spoke. "Let's go outside...there's such a beautiful view out there by the docks..." "Docks?" EunBi asked. "Yeah...you'll see..." ChilHyun replied as he led her through a door and up a flight of stairs. She could see an opening at the top and looked around in awe when she found that the stairs led to a beach. She realized that they were standing on a wooden plank above the sand and not very far from the water. "Wow...this is so beautiful!" she said as she looked up at the bright stars and then at the crashing waves. "It is...it's a private beach so it's really clean and peaceful..." EunBi could hear a slow song coming on from the door that they came through. "May I have this dance?" ChilHyun asked as he held out his hand. EunBi smiled and took it as he took her into his arms and slowly moved back and forth with the music. "How do you feel, miss bride-to-be?" he asked in a deep voice. EunBi laughed lightly and rested her head on his shoulder. "I feel wonderful..." She suddenly remembered about HeeJun oppa, and her curiosity was getting to her. "Oppa...where's HeeJun oppa?" she asked out-of-the blue. ChilHyun let out a small laugh. "He's probably at HyunJi's house with her parents..." "Oh...hehe..." EunBi sighed. "Wow...three engagements...GyooHee unnie and JoonWoo oppa, HeeJun oppa and HyunJi unnie, and then there's us." She thought about how hard it was to finally be with ChilHyun oppa. "Yup..." he said as he relaxed and continued dancing slowly. "Oppa..." "Hmm?" "Did you know that I've liked you ever since unnie was going out with you six years ago?" EunBi asked absent-mindedly. "Wow...six years ago...that was a pretty long time...why didn't you ever tell me?" ChilHyun asked, surprised with her confession. EunBi shrugged. "I dunno...i didn't have the guts to...and~ I guess I just kept my feelings for you hidden...in my heart..." ~*~THE END~*~ |
