After Brian and Ji Woo exchanged goodbyes, Ji Woo walked by Ji Hye dogging her like mad crazy and left. Brian started his little walk back to his car but Ji Hye couldn't move her feet at all. She was in complete shock. Ji Hye didn't notice that she was still standing in that same spot and was completely out of it until she heard Brian calling her. "Yah!! Earth to Ji Hye!!" After making eye contact with Brian, Ji Hye was now definitely ready to cry but she knew she couldn't cry in front of him and she knew that she couldn't tell him how she felt because she didn't want to lose him as a friend too. Ji Hye asked as she was headed for the kitchen to get something to eat. She had just found some bread and was about to cut it when Sung Hee started talking again. "OMG!! That so stupid fake girl, Ji Woo, is going to the party with Brian tomorrow!!" Sung Hee yelled into the phone with anger. Ji Hye couldn't believe what she just heard. Ji Hye was lying on the floor with blood all over the floor. Sung Hee ran over to Ji Hye to see if she was still breathing, she was, and then ran to the phone and called an ambulance. The ambulance and Sune Hee arrived at the hospital really fast and the doctors took her into the ER. Sung Hee just paced back and forth not knowing what to do with only fear in her body. Ji Hye had been in the ER for like an hour and there was still no word from the doctors. Sung Hee was still pacing back and forth when she noticed the pay phone. She decided to call Brian. Sung Hee knew how Ji Hye felt about Brian but just never said anything. Sung Hee picked up the phone and dialed Brian's number with a shaky hand. "Hello??" "........" She's been in there for an hour and the doctors haven't come out Brian!! What are we gonna do?!?!" Sung Hee sobbed. After hearing what Sung Hee said, Brian went into total shock for awhile. 'Ji Hye...no...Ji Hye...please be ok...please...I'm coming Ji Hye!!' Brian dropped the phone and drove to the hospital as quickly as he could. Once he reached the hospital, he ran in looking for the ER room. He finally found it and found Sung Hee in front of the room on a chair crying like crazy. He ran over to her. "How...how is she?!?!" "I...I don't know...they still haven't come out yet." Sung Hee said with tears streaming down her face. Brian just paced back and forth but he just couldn't take it anymore. He had to see her. He was about to run into the room when two security guards out of nowhere stopped him. Brian tried to fight him off but the two men really big. They made Brian sit down and gave him a warning. After two hours of waiting, which seemed like centuries to Sung Hee and Brian, the doctor finally came out. Brian rushed over to him to find out how Ji Hye is. "Doctor!! Doctor, how...how is she??" "She lost a lot of blood so we had a very hard time getting her back but she's alive." The doctor said calmly. "Thank you!! Thank you so much!!" Brian and Sung Hee both yelled. "However, she is very weak right now so she's going to have to take it easy for awhile." The doctor said seriously. "Yes, sir. Once again, thank you very much. Umm..can we go see her now??" Brian asked relieved. "Yes, she's in room 66." The doctor said and walked away. Brian and Sung Hee was walking towards Ji Hye's room when Sung Hee's phone rang. Her parents were mad like crazy so Sung Hee was forced to go home without seeing Ji Hye. Alone, Brian slowly walked towards Ji Hye's room. Ji Hye's room had a big window in the front and through it, he could see Ji Hye in the bed. Brian walked in slowly and quietly as possible and sat down in a chair next to the bed. Brian just sat there looking at Ji Hye's face. Then slowly he grabbed Ji Hye's hand and pushed away some hair that had fallen over Ji Hye's face. Brian just sat there holding on to her hand and stroking her cheeck lightly when a nurse walked in. Brian quickly took his hands and stuffed them in his pockets. "Hehehe....sorry. I just need to check some stuff." The nurse said with a smile on her face and started checking up on Ji Hye. "Is she ok??" Brian asked quietly. "Yes, she's doing better." The nurse said and headed towards the door. She opened the door and was about to walk out but she stopped and turned and faced Brian. "You know, you two make a cute couple." The nurse said with a smile and walked out the door. Brian was taken back by what the nurse had said. He turned and looked at Ji Hye again. Brian knocked on the doctor's door and waited for a reply. "Come in." The doctor said from inside. "Hi. Brian yelled with mixed feelings of concern, fear, and anger. "Please calm down." The doctor said calmly. "Ugh, I'm sorry but it's just that I'm really worried about her. She means a lot to me..." Brian said quietly. "Yes, I can see that." The doctor said with a smile. "However, the thing is, Miss Ji Hye is going to be ok. I looked over th test results once again and it showed that Ji Hye's body is a little weaker than others. Meaning, for regular people, they would be up by now and fine but in Ji Hye's case, her body needed more rest so it kind of shut down making her go unconscious. She should be awake in a couple of days but if she isn't, we will take more tests." "Ok, thank you." Brian said and slowly walked back to Ji Hye's room. Although the doctor had assured him that Ji Hye would be ok, Brian just couldn't stop worrying. Brian walked in and sat down in the same position again and holding onto to Ji Hye's hand once again. "Sure, I'll be right back." The lady walked into the back of the store and came back a few minutes later with the roses. Brian walked over to the couter to pay for them. "So are these lovely flowers for your lovely girlfriend??" The lady asked. After Brian had heard the question, his face turned bright pink. He could've just said a simple no since Ji Hye and he wasn't going out but he just couldn't say no for some reason. "Hehehe...you're a very sweet boy." The lady said as she handed Brian the roses. Brian walked out of the store still kind of embarassed but he got into the car with a happy smile on his face. He drove all the way to the hospital just feeling all happy for some reason. He happily walked into the hospital and walked towards Ji Hye's room. However, there was something wrong when he finally got there. There was something very wrong. Ji Hye's bed was empty. Ji Hye wasn't in bed and her bed was neatly made. Brian dropped the roses and went into the room to see if she had waken up and had gone into the bathroom but she wasn't there either. Brian was now in complete panick and didn't know what to do. He didn't get where Ji Hye had gone and why her bed was neatly made. They only did that if the person died... 'NO!!!! What are you thinking?!?! She didn't...she couldn't have!!!' Brian was going nuts with his own thoughts. He ran out of the room quickly as possible and went to find a nurse, a doctor, just anybody. Miss Ji Hye woke up and is fine so the doctors moved her to another floor so she is no longer with us on this floor." The nurse said confused. He said while walking over and giving Ji Hye a hug. While Brian was sitting down, he noticed that Ji Hye was plugging her nose as if something stinked. "Ummm...exactly why are you plugging your nose?? I don't smell anything." Brian said confused. "Ewwwww......you stink Brian!!!! Were you playing basketball or something before you came here??" Ji Hye said laughing like crazy now. "Aish, what?!?! No, I wasn't playing basketball thank you!!" Brian said. "Hehehe...whatever." Ji Hye said still laughing. Brian just sat there watching her laugh. Even though she was laughing at him, he was happy to see her so happy. Brian couldn't really describe the feeling he was feeling right then. He then noticed that he still had the roses in his hands so he handed it to Ji Hye. "Awww...Brian you shouldn't have." Ji Hye said with a big smile on her face. "Hehehe...well, I knew how much you liked roses so I...I don't know...I just bought them." Brian stuttered. 'OMG Brian!! Why are acting like such a dork?!?!' Brian thought to himself. He just felt like kicking himself right at that moment. "But Brian.." "Yeah??" "Ummm...I really don't mean to be ungrateful or anything but...umm...why are the roses all kinda ruined??" Ji Hye asked confused. "Oh, ummm...I kinda dropped it." Brian said slowly. He didn't want to tell Ji Hye what really happened for some reason. "Hehehehe.....you're such babo!!" Ji Hye yelled as she broke down into laughter again. "Aish, whatever." Brian and Ji Hye just continued to talk and joke until it got pretty late and Ji Hye was starting to get tired. She started to lay down so Brian was going to leave but Ji Hye spoke up. "Brian??" She said sleepily. "Yeah??" "Do you think you can stay just till I fall asleep?? I don't like hospitals and I don't like staying alone." "Sure." Brian said as he sat back down. Ji Hye had already closed her eyes and only after a couple minutes later, Ji Hye fell asleep. Brian just sat there watching her sleep. While he was watching her sleep, Brian thought about everything that he had gone through that day. He had gone through so much shock and pain. 'When I thought Ji Hye had died I felt so...so..I don't know. I can't even describe the feeling but I know that pain was a big part of the feeling. *sigh* Ji Hye yah...don't ever leave me. You mean so much to me. I guess I never realized how much you meant to me and how much...and how much I need you in my life. Ji Hye yah, I..I think..ugh..I think I'm falling in love with you.' Brian thought to himself as he just sat there watching Ji Hye and holding onto her hand. At that moment, Brian was finally realizing that his feelings towards Ji Hye were definitely not only a friendshipy feeling. He had been holding onto Ji Hye's hand all night and had fallen asleep. Ji Hye woke up slowly and felt something warm around her hand. When she turned to see what it was, it was Brian. He was sleeping while holding onto his hand. Ji Hye just layed there quietly watching Brian sleep. 'Brian, thanks for being here with me. This means so much to me. Brian, I like you so much *sigh* but if being with Ji Woo makes you happy, I guess I have to deal with it. Have you ever felt anything more towards than me then just friendship?? You always make me feel so happy and warm inside. I've tried so hard to not feel the way I do, but it's just so hard....' Ji Hye thought to herself unhappily. Brian slowly began to wake up. He noticed that Ji Hye was staring at him and when they made eye contact, they both faced the other way and blushed while trying to hide it from each other. If anyone could see how the two were acting, it would be so obvious to anyone that they both liked each other. Brian and Ji Hye had just been hanging out when they interrupted by a knock. The door slowly opened and walked in the person that Ji Hye had never expected, Ji Woo. "Hi." Ji Woo said with a smile. Ji Hye didn't know what to say. 'What in the world is she doing here?!?!' Ji Hye thought to herself. "Ummm...hi." Ji Hye said still in shock. "Hey Ji Hye." Brian followed. "I guess you're ok Ji Hye. Brian, do you think I can talk to you for a sec. In private??" Ji Woo asked sweetly as possible. 'Ugh...she's so fake.' Ji Hye thought to herself and smirked at her own thoughts. "Uh..yea sure. I'll be right back Ji Hye." Brian said and stood up and walked out of the room with Ji Woo. After they had left, Ji Hye just couldn't help but feel all jealous and hurt. 'Brian....' He didn't really want to go with Ji Woo since she and Ji Hye hated each other and he didn't want Ji Hye to get the wrong idea about the two of them. However, Ji Woo was one of Brian's friend's dongseng. He didn't want to be mean. He really didn't have much choice. 'Ugh...I guess I'll just go to the party with her just this once.' Brian thought unhappily. "Well??" Ji Woo asked innocently. "Yea, I'll go with you." Brian mumbled. Brian quickly walked off trying to avoid any more conversation with Ji Woo. He was in front of Ji Hye's room when Ji Woo started calling his name. "Brian!!" Ji Woo yelled running up to him. "What is it?? I have to go..." Brian was saying but all of a sudden Ji Woo ran up to him and put her arms around him. Brian was in total shock that he just stood there letting Ji Woo hug him like that. *Back in Ji Hye's room* 'Man...what's taking them so long?!?! Shouldn't they be back by now??' Ji Hye angrily thought to herself. She hated the fact that they were alone together. Ji Hye just sat there waiting for Brian when she noticed that there was some people in front of the window. It was Brian and Ji Woo and they were hugging each other. Ji Hye sat there watching the two hugging each other. She could feel the tears slowly coming down her cheeks. Ji Hye asked confused. Sung Hee walked in and headed towards Ji Hye's room. "I'm here to drag you to the party. You have to go Ji Hye. Hmm..oh...hehehe...this will look good on you. Hurry up and get dressed so we can get going. We don't want to be late." Sung Hee said while holding out the clothes. "I'm not going Sung Hee. I just feel like staying home today." "Nope, you have to go. This is like one of the biggest parties and since you're like the most popular girl in school, you obligated to go missy." "I'm not popular and I'm not going." Ji Hye said pouting. "You're going and that's final so hurry up and put this on." Sung Hee said in a stern voice and a serious expression on her face. Ji Hye could tell by Sung Hee's look and by her voice that she was definitely not going to give up. The big house was filled with people. Sung Hee left with her boyfriend and Ji Hye just decided to get some fresh air at the balcony. She just stood there looking up at the stars but then she felt something warm near her. It was Hwanhee. "I heard that you were in the hospital. I was going to go visit you but I didn't think you'd let me in anywayz so I didn't go. How are you feeling??" "Why bother asking. We all know that you don't care." Ji Hye said coldly and she was about to walk away but Hwanhee grabbed her hand and wouldn't let go. "You don't know what you're talking about!! What do you mean I don't care. You don't know jack about me!! I do care Ji Hye, why can't you see that?!?! Yeah, so I have a little bad reputation, it doesn't mean that I can't ever care about someone and actually fall for someone!!" Hwanhee yelled still holding onto Ji Hye's hand. Ji Hye was completely speechless. She felt so guilty after what Hwanhee had said. She had always been so cold to him and had never bothered to give him a chance. "I'm sorry." Ji Hye said quietly looking down. "It's ok. I just want you to know that I do worry about you and that I do care." Hwanhee said looking into Ji Hye's eyes. "Ok, thanks." Ji Hye said giving him a little smile. "You know what?? It's getting pretty cold out here. Let's go in, ok??" Hwanhee said with his best smile. "Ummm....ok." Ji Hye said and they walked inside together side by side. "Well, well, well...if it isn't Ji Hye." Ji Woo said with a mocking voice. Ji Hye and Hwanhee both turned around to find Ji Woo and Brian. "Hi Ji Woo. Hi Brian." Ji Hye said trying to sound calm as possible. "Hey Ji Hye." Brian said. He noticed Hwanhee was with Ji Hye and this just brought on an uneasing feeling for Brian. 'Why is Ji Hye with that jerk?!?! I thought she hated him!!' Brian thought angrily as he felt a mixture of anger and jealousy in his heart. Hwanhee noticed how uncomfortable Ji Hye seemed so he decided to just ask her to a dance. "Ji Hye yah, let's dance." Hwanhee said while grabbing her hand. Even before she could answer, he dragged her towards all the rest of the people dancing, leaving Brian and Ji Woo just standing there. When Hwanhee and Ji Hye was about to dance, a slow song came on. Ji Hye really didn't feel like dancing to a slow song with Hwanhee but she definitely didn't want to go back to Brian and Ji Woo so she just decided to dance with him. Brian watched in fury and jealousy as Hwanhee hand went around Ji Hye's waist. "Brian!! Hello?!?! Say something!!" Ji Woo yelled trying to get Brian's attention. "What??" Brian asked not taking his eyes off Ji Hye and Hwanhee. "I asked you if you knew that Ji Hye and Hwanhee was going out." "What?!?!" Brian asked in suprised. He finally managed to take his eyes off Ji Hye and Hwanhee and turned to look at Ji Woo. "I guess you didn't know too, huh?? I don't know, I just heard that they've been going out secretly or something." Ji Woo said shrugging. Brian couldn't take it anymore. "I'm leaving." Brian said coldly and headed for the door. "Wait, Brian!! What about me?!?!" "Just go hang with your friends or something." Brian said simply and walked out the door. Brian got into his car and headed for him. 'Ji Hye...ugh...why are you with that jerk?!?! He doesn't deserve you!! You're going out with him?!?! Why didn't you say anything?!?! Hwanhee's a big %$*#*@#*$@*#$%#*@!&$%#@. Ugh..what am I saying?? It's all my fault. It's my falut for not realizing my feelings for you sooner Ji Hye. But I know for sure know Ji Hye. I love you Ji Hye but I think I realized that too late...' Brian thought to himself as tears slowly fell from his eyes which were filled with love, pain, and regret all at the same time. Ch. 8... Once Brian got home he just jumped onto his bed. He was in so much pain and had so much anger inside of him at the same time. He was angry that Ji Hye and Hwanhee and hated Hwanhee more than ever but Brian hated himself the most. 'Ugh...why couldn't I have realized my feelings for Ji Hye earlier?!?! You're such an iddiot Brian!! Ji Hye yah...' Brian grabbed the phone and called Ji Hye's house but there was no answer. Brian quickly hung up and dialed her cell. 'Damn, no answer. It's just the stupid voicemail.' Brian looked at the clock. It was already past midnight and Brian was starting to get worried. 'Where is she?!?! Shouldn't she be home by now?!?! What if she's in trouble?!?! Ugh..' Brian ran out of his house and headed back to the party. Once he got there, everyone was gone and the only person there was Jason, the guy who lived there. "Hey Brian. Umm..sorry man but the party's over." Jason said walking up to Brian. "It's cool. 'Ji Hye yah, where are you?? Please be ok...' *In Hwanhee's car* Hwanhee and Ji Hye had left the party a little early so that they could go to the beach and now they were headed for home. Ji Hye had learned so much about Hwanhee at the beach. 'Hwanhee really isn't that bad of a guy. He's really sweet, nice, caring, funny, and not to mention good looking...but he's nothing compared to Brian...' Ji Hye thought to herself quietly. "Ey, what are you thinking about??" Hwanhee asked looking over at Ji Hye. "Huh?? Oh, nothing much. I'm just a little tired." Ji Hye replied snapping out of her thoughts. "Oh, we're almost at your house so just wait a little ok??" Hwanhee said giving Ji Hye his little perfect smile. Soon enough, Hwanhee arrived near Ji Hye's house but before Hwanhee could reach her house, he asked Hwanhee to just drop her off at the street. "Hwanhee yah, it's ok. Just drop me off here." "No, I want to take you all the way home. Besides, it's not safe for a girl to be walking around alone at this hour." Hwanhee said sternly. "Awww...thanks a lot for caring but I just really feel like walking and having some alone time. Pretty please with a big cherry on top??" Ji Hye pleaded with her puppy face. Hwanhee just couldn't say no to her then so he let her out and they said their goodbyes. Ji Hye slowly walked to her house and was so busy thinking about Brian and Ji Woo that she didn't even notice that someone was sitting on the floor near her apartment door. "It's about time you're home." Brian said coldly. Ji Hye jumped from fright. She hadn't seen Brian there. Brian slowly got up from the floor. "B..B..Brian?? What are you doing here??" Ji Hye stammered still shocked. "Where have you been??" Brian asked ignoring Ji Hye's question. "Ummm...nowhere in particular." Ji Hye lied. Ji Hye didn't really feel like telling Brian about her and Hwanhee. "Yeah right. You went nowhere in particular so that's why you're coming home at two in the morning??" Brian asked, feeling his anger rising. He knew that Ji Hye had been with Hwanhee all that time and what made him even angrier was that Ji Hye was lying. Ji Hye could feel Brian's anger rising. 'Psh..why is he getting mad?? He has not right to get mad. I'm the one hurting here.' Ji Hye thought as her anger started to rise slowly also. "Where I go and what I do is none of your business." Ji Hye said coldly. "What?? What do you mean it's none of my business?!?! Why don't you just admit that you were with that jerk Hwanhee all night?!?!" Brian asked. "Hwanhee is not a jerk!! He's kind, caring, nice and everything!! Why are you going around calling him a jerk, you shouldn't go around just judging people!!" "OMG, you're defending him now?!?! You're defending Hwanhee?!?! Do you like him or something now?!?!" "Maybe I do!!!" Ji Hye yelled out of anger. 'Ugh...why did you say that Ji Hye?!?! You don't like Hwanhee!!' Ji Hye didn't know why she said that but at that instant, Ji Hye was so mad at Brian. He was hurting her so much. After Brian had heard Ji Hye's words, he felt like someone had just ripped out his heart and crushed it. He couldn't believe his ears. "You...you..you have bad taste Ji Hye. What could you possibly see in someone like Hwanhee?!?!" "Ha!! I have bad taste?!?! At least I don't like some fake little gong joo bbyung like Ji Woo!!" "Shut up!! Who's the one judging people now?!?!" Brian rebutted. He had no idea why he was defending Ji Woo of all people. "Whatever!!" "At least I'm not hung over some stupid guy like Hwanhee. At least I don't go head over heels for someone that I supposedly didn't like. Was it all an act to just play hard to get Ji Hye?!?! Was that it?? Cause I think you did a really good job!!" Brian yelled those cold words to Ji Hye without even thinking about what he was saying. Brian's words tore up Ji Hye's heart little by little. She could now feel tears welling up in her eyes. "Will you two shut up before I call the police?!?!" One of the neighbors had woken up and came outside with a phone in his hand. "Sorry, sir. We're done here." Brian said quietly and headed towards the elevator. "Brian!!" Ji Hye yelled as he was getting into the elevator. "What??" Brian just simply asked. "You should watch what you say cause you don't know jack about me Brian Joo!! You don't know jack!!" Ji Hye yelled angrily with tears coming down her face now. She ran into her apartment and shut the door while the elevator slided shut. Brian got into his car and drove like a madman back to his house. *Brian's house* Once he got home, he ran into his apartment and then just stood in the middle of the room just thinking about what had just happened with Ji Hye. The whole fight kept playing over and over in his head. Then all of a sudden, Brian just picked up anything in sight and began to throw everything everywhere. He had gone completely out of control. He didn't know what he was doing. He was walking towards his room to just wreck everything in there too when he stepped on something and it made a crack. Brian looked down to see what it was. It was a picture of Ji Hye and him. Brian slowly bent down and picked up the broken frame picture. He slowly touched Ji Hye's picture with his fingertips while tears slowly began to fall on the picture. 'Ji Hye yah...what have I done.....' Ch. 9... After the huge fight that Brian and Ji Hye had, they kind of stopped talking to each other. Ji Hye found another ride to school and they never even talked when they saw each other in the halls. *At school* Ji Hye walked into class and just sat in her seat quietly. Ever since that fight, she hadn't really been her usual self. She didn't really talk much. 'Brian, why did you say all those things to me?? Why were you so mad that night?? I've never seen you that mad before, do you know how scary you were?? Did you mean all the things that you said to me that night?? I didn't Brian. Hwanhee's not the one I like...it's you..' Ji Hye was thinking to herself when Hwanhee interrupted her thoughts. "Hey Ji Hye, what's up??" Hwanhee asked pulling a seat next to her and sitting down. "Nothing much. You??" Ji Hye asked. She didn't really feel like talking but she didn't want to be rude. "Same here. Hey, why does Sung Hee give you a ride everyday??" "Oh, it's cause my parents don't really want me driving...so...ummm...Sung Hee drives me." "Oh, well you know what??" Hwanhee asked excitedly. "What??" "I really don't live that far from you so I can give you a ride to school and back starting from today." Hwanhee said happily. "Ummm...no it's ok. Sung Hee can..." Ji Hye was cut shortly. "No, but Sung Hee doesn't live that close to you and everything. It's on my way so I can do it." Hwanhee said giving off his famous little smile. Ji Hye was thinking to herself and she did know that Sung Hee did live kind of far and she did kind of feel bad about it. "Ummm...are you sure it won't be a problem??" Ji Hye asked slowly. "Yea, no problem at all!! Hehehe...don't worry. I don't drive that bad." Hwanhee said triumphantly. The teacher came in soon after that and another day began. After school, Hwanhee and Ji Hye walked towards Hwanhee's car together. They had almost reached the car when Hwanhee bumped into someone and their books fell to the ground. Ji Hye turned around to see who it was and she felt hear heart skip a heartbeat, it was Brian. They made eye contact just for a second and then they both looked the other way. "Ey, I'm sorry man. Guess I didn't watch where I was going." Hwanhee said as he helped pick up Brian's books. "No problem." Brian mumbled. After picking up the books, Hwanhee grabbed Ji Hye's arm and lead her into his car. They both got in the car and Hwanhee drove off. Ji Hye looked in the mirror and saw Brian still standing there. 'Brian...I love you...' Ji Hye thought to herself sadly and tried as hard as she could to keep her tears from falling down. Brian watched Ji Hye get into Hwanhee's car and then drove off leaving him all alone. Brian couldn't believe what he had just seen. He DIDN'T want to believe what he had seen. 'Ji Hye yah, what's wrong with you?? You know Hwanhee's reputation. Why are you going with him?? Ji Hye yah, I love you...' Brian was thinking to himself sadly when he felt someone's hand on his shoulder. Brian turned around to see who it was and it was Ji Woo. "Hi Brian, what's up??" Ji Woo asked cheerfully. "Nothing. I have to go." Brian said and headed towards his car. "Awww...that's too bad but you can always give me a ride." Ji Woo said trying put on a puppy dog expression. 'Ugh...I really don't get how you can be Ji Hye's rival Ji Woo. You're nothing compared to her.' Brian thought to himself disgusted. "Maybe next time." She could've just said a simple no but she always had so much trouble saying no when someone asked her out but she always had a friend there to help her out but there was no one except Hwanhee and her at that moment. "I...I'm..I'm sorry Hwanhee...but.." Ji Hye started stammered. "No, Ji Hye. Can you at least think about it??" Hwanhee asked pleadingly. The whole, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to be a bad guy, I can care about people, act so worked!! Hehehe...it's really good crap man!! It's some good crap that's gonna get me lucky in bed!!" Hwanhee said while high-fiving the guys. Brian had heard all of this and he was ready to beat the crap out of Hwanhee. Brian stepped forward and was just about to jump on Hwanhee when some security guard came out of nowhere. "Hey you three!!!! Get out of here!! This isn't no smoking place!! Brian said sternly. "What?? Why??" Ji Hye asked confused. 'Why do you care so much if I see Hwanhee or not?? You have Ji Woo so what's your problem.' Ji Hye thought miserably. "He's bad news." Brian didn't really feel like telling Ji Hye Hwanhee's intentions. Brian didn't want to scare her or anything. "Here we go again. Brian, you don't even know Hwanhee. Why can't you just leave him alone??" "Why do you keep defending him?!?!" Brian yelled while he felt his anger rise rapidly. "I'm defending him cause he hasn't done anything wrong." THE ONLY REASON WHY HWANHEE IS BEING SO FREAKING NICE TO YOU IS CAUSE HE WANTS TO TAKE YOU TO BED JI HYE!!! HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR ANYTHING!! ALL HE SEES IS HIM GETTING LUCKY WITH YOU!!! YOU'RE DEFENDING SOMEONE LIKE THAT?!?!" Brian yelled at Ji Hye angrily. As soon as those words left Brian's mouth, he regretted it. He regretted every single word. 'Why'd you have to put it like that?!?! Would it have killed you to say it more calmly and nicely?!?! Ugh..' Brian thought. Ji Hye was completely speechless. She couldn't believe her ears. 'No..no..Brian's lying. Hwanhee would never do that. Brian's lying!! He..he just doesn't want me to be happy. He just wants me to be miserable while he hangs with another girl. Ch. 10... *A couple of days later* Ever since the second big fight, Ji Hye and Brian never spoke to each other again. they were slowly drifting apart from each other while Ji Hye was getting to know Hwanhee better. Brian had wanted to jump Hwanhee so bad but he knew that Ji Hye would never forgive him so instead, Brian kept a close watch on him. *Cell ringing* "Hello??" Ji Hye answered her phone, wondering who would call her this late. "Ji Hye yah!! Hehehe...guess who?!?!" Hwanhee asked cheerfully. "Hey Hwanhee, what's up??" "Ummm...right now?? It's kinda late." "Yeah, I know. But please??" Hwanhee asked pleadingly. "Ok ok. I'll be outside in a sec." Ji Hye said. She didn't really feel like going out but she felt bad for him. 'Hmmm...I wonder what his suprise is...' Ji Hye thought to herself as she headed outside. Once she was out the door, Hwanhee was already there waiting for her. "Hi." Hwanhee said smiling. "Hi. Hehehe..so where's my suprise??" "Ummm...we kinda have to drive there so get in." Hwanhee said while opening the door for her. "Ok." Ji Hye said getting in slowly. Hwanhee and Ji Hye drove for awhile and Hwanhee finally stopped the car in front of a big beautiful house. Hwanhee walked over to the passenger side and opened the door for Ji Hye. "Wow, this house is beautiful. Who's house is it??" Ji Hye asked amazed. "It's my uncle's but he's not here because of some business trip thing." "I see but Hwanhee yah, ummm....exactly why are we here??" Ji Hye asked confused. "You'll see. Your suprise is inside." Hwanhee said with an excited expression. He took Ji Hye's hand and led her into the house and then stopped in front of a door. "I'm gonna have to cover your eyes ok??" "Ummm...do you have to??" Ji Hye asked. She felt a little bit uncomfortable having Hwanhee so close to her. "Yeah, I have to." Hwanhee said softly as he walked behind Ji Hye. Hwanhee lightly covered Ji Hye's eyes with one hand and then held her tightly with his free arm. "Can I look now??" Ji Hye asked uncomfortably. Hwanhee's touch was making her very uncomfortable. "In a sec." Hwanhee whispered into her ears. Ji Hye could feel Hwanhee's warm breath on her neck. Hwanhee slowly reached over, opened the door, and then carefully led Ji Hye into the room. Once they were inside, Hwanhee removed his hand from her eyes but still continued to hold on to her. "Suprise." Hwanhee whispered holding onto Ji Hye tightly. "........." Ji Hye was completely speechless. The room was lit with candles all over the place, rose petals were scattered on the floor, and then there was a big boquet of roses on the bed. "Do you like it??" Hwanhee whispered while pulling Ji Hye more closely to him. "Ummm...Hwanhee yah...it's beautiful...but..umm...but why??" Ji Hye asked. She was still shocked and confused. Hwanhee turned Ji Hye around so that she was facing him. His arms once again held her tightly as he began talking. "I wanted to do something special for a special girl. You mean a lot to me Ji Hye and you've made me so happy. I love you Ji Hye and I wanted to show that to you. I wanted you to feel my love. I love you Ji Hye and I want to show you my love by spending the night with you today Ji Hye." Hwanhee said looking into Ji Hye's eyes. Then slowly he moved his lips towards Ji Hye's neck. Ji Hye tried to back away but Hwanhee was too strong for her. "Hwanhee, I'm sorry...but I can't do this. Let me go." Ji Hye said trying to free herself from Hwanhee's grasp but he was too strong. "You can do this Ji Hye. Just let me show you my love." Hwanhee managed to mumble through his kissing. "Let me go Hwanhee!! I'm leaving!!" Ji Hye yelled. She was scared now. She was scared of what Hwanhee might do. "No way I'm letting you go!! What's your problem Ji Hye?!?! I was so nice to you and I did all this stuff for you!! Isn't it time for you to give me something in return?!?!" Hwanhee yelled looking Ji Hye straight in the eye. "I'm sorry but I can't. I'm gonna go now." Ji Hye said and dashed for the door but Hwanhee beat her to it and blocked her only exit. "Sorry sweety but you're not going anywhere tonight." Hwanhee said in a mocking tone. He grabbed Ji Hye and tried to kiss her but Ji Hye kept dodging his kisses. "Let me go you jerk!!! Let me go!!" Ji Hye yelled with fright. "I don't think so." Hwanhee said and then threw Ji Hye on top of the bed and then he got on top of her. "You're mine Ji Hye, you're mine." Hwanhee looked like a madman. He was crazy. He ripped off the buttons on Ji Hye's shirt and starting kissing her neck once again. "Hwanhee get off me!!! Stop!!!! Please stop!!!" Ji Hye yelled now with tears streaming down her face but Hwanhee couldn't seem to hear her at all. 'Somebody help...please somebody help...Brian..' Ji Hye thought to herself hopelessly but then an idea came to her all of a sudden. Hwanhee was a guy and that means he had a weak spot. Ji Hye managed to get her leg free and then kicked Hwanhee right in the spot. Hwanhee rolled off the bed in pain cursing. Ji Hye quickly got off the bed, ran out the door and just started running away. She didn't know where she was going to but she kept running and running. Ji Hye turned back to see if Hwanhee had followed her but luckily he hadn't. Ji Hye looked up to see what street she was in. It was her hard to read the sign because of all her tears but she finally managed to read it. 'This is ******** street. Brian!! Brian lives just around the corner from here.' Brian got up and was about to head for the kitchen when the doorbell began ringing like crazy. 'What the?? Hmmm...I wonder who it could be at this hour.' Brian thought as he headed for the door to open it. He slowly opened the door and he almost passed out from shock when he saw who it was. It was Ji Hye. "Brian..." Ji Hye whispered inaudibly and then collapsed into Brian's arms. Ch.11... "Ji Hye yah!!" Brian yelled while holding Ji Hye in his arms. "Brian..." was all that Ji Hye could manage to whisper as she slowly fell asleep. Brian carefully held Ji Hye in his arms and picked her up. He went into his room and gently layed her down on the bed. 'Ji Hye yah, what happened?? Why are you like this?? Did somebody try to...did Hwanhee try to...ugh..no Brian what are you thinking?!?! He's not that dumb and crazy, right??' Brian thought as he headed for the bathroom to get the first aid kit. Once he returned to the room, he covered the top of Ji Hye's body with one of his shirts. His hands were shaking like crazy. 'Come on Brian, get a grip!!' Brian thought to himself. He took out the ointments and stuff and slowly began to take care of Ji Hye's wounds. After he was done, Brian just cleaned everything up and then sat down on the bed next to Ji Hye. Brian carefully touched Ji Hye's wounds. It wasn't that bad but she had a couple of cuts and bruises. 'Ji Hye yah, who did this to you?? I'm gonna kill whoever did this to you!!' Brian thought angrily. He then noticed that Ji Hye was slowly coming to. Brian watched as Ji Hye slowly opened her eyes. "Brian..." Ji Hye quietly whispered. "It's me Ji Hye. How you feeling??" "I'm ok.." Ji Hye said as she got up slowly. Brian helped her sit up carefully. "Ji Hye yah, what happened??" "I..He..I didn't think..Brian..I.." Ji Hye kept stuttering and soon after, tears were once again streaming down her face. Brian could tell that someone had tried to rape her or something to that extent but he didn't know if that person had managed to go all the way or not and this suspense was killing Brian. "I'm scared Brian....I'm so scared." Ji Hye whispered while burying her face deeper into Brian's chest. Brian's heart was breaking at the sight of Ji Hye. She was in so much pain and she was scared but he couldn't do anything to take away the pain. 'None of this would have happened if I had taken better care of her. Only if I had watched her more carefully. Only if I had watched over her just like I used to before the fight..' Brian thought feeling guilty. He took me to a house..and..and..took me to..to a room...he..he said he loved me and that..that...he wanted to show me his love...he wanted to...he wanted to sleep with me...I..tri..I tried to fight him off but..but...but he was too strong...and...and..he hurt...he hurt me...he hit me to keep me down...he...he..was gonna r..rape me..but I managed to run away..and I came...I came here...I know it was late...but...I'm sorry...but I didn't know...where else to go..." Ji Hye managed to tell Brian what happened through all her tears. "No, no don't be sorry Ji Hye. It's good that you came to me. Whenever you need something always come to me." Brian said while trying to hold down all his anger. Right after Brian had heard what Hwanhee had tried to do, he so wanted to run out of the house, find Hwanhee, and beat the crap out of him but he couldn't, Ji Hye needed him. "Brian...Hwanhee....he's crazy...he's crazy...I was so scared...I'm scared Brian..." Ji Hye cried into Brian's shirt. His shirt was all wet with Ji Hye's tears and his heart was all falling a part from watching Ji Hye in so much pain. "It's going to be ok. I'm here Ji Hye. That #@*&%$#@%$*#*# isn't ever gonna come near you again. He won't ever hurt you again, ok??" "You promise??" Ji Hye asked as she lifted her head and looked up at Brian with eyes filled of tears. Brian just wanted to sit and cry along with Ji Hye right then. Seeing so much pain in her eyes was killing him. "I promise." Brian whispered as he slowly bent his head and kissed Ji Hye on her forehead. "Now let's try to get some sleep, ok?? You can sleep in here and I'll sleep on the couch in the living room." Brian said uneagerly. He didn't want to leave Ji Hye, he didn't want to let her out of his arms but he knew he had to. Brian was slowly taking his arms off Ji Hye when Ji Hye pulled his arms back and held onto him. "Don't leave me Brian. I..I don't want to stay alone. Please don't leave me." Ji Hye whispered while holding onto Brian. "I'm not going anywhere. Don't worry, I'm gonna be right here." Brian said as he pulled Ji Hye closer and held her tightly in his arms. Ji Hye finally slowly began to fall asleep in Brian's arms. Brian just held on to her and watched her sleep. "Ji Hye yah, I'm so sorry that I wasn't there for you. I'm so sorry for all the things that I've said. I'm so sorry but don't worry, I'm never leaving you again. I'll never let anyone ever hurt you again. Hwanhee's going to pay. I'm gonna make him pay big time Ji Hye, don't worry. He'll pay for what he did.' Brian thought angrily. However, when he once again looked down at the small figure sleeping in his arms, the anger slowly decreased and love filled his heart instead. 'I love you Ji Hye. I never knew I could feel this way for anyone but I guess I was wrong. I never knew it was possible to love someone so much as I love you...' Brian was still looking down on her when Ji Hye finally began to stir and wake up slowly. Ji Hye slowly opened her eyes and then looked up at Brian. "Hi." Ji Hye said quietly. "Hehehe...good morning. Sleep well??" Brian asked smiling down at her. He was still holding onto her even though she had woken up. Ji Hye just slightly nodded at Brian's question and blushed. The iddiot isn't that stupid after all I guess." Minwoo said coldly. "I'm giving you another chance Hwanhee. Just agree to my terms and run while you can." Brian said glaring at Hwanhee. "No way. The other three guys started attacking so Shinhwa ended up attacking too and that's how the whole fight began. The fight didn't go one for that long cause Shinhwa and Brian were beating the crap out of Hwanhee and his three little friends. "Aiite!!!! I give up!!!" Hwanhee yelled while holding his hands up. "So who's this Ji Hye girl anywayz??" Eric asked. "She's THE girl." Brian whispered as he got into his car. "Thanks for helping me out today you guys." "No problem Brian. What are friends for?? We're always there for you." Dongwan said sincerely. "Thanks man but I gotta jet now. Latez." "Latez." She thought she was going to go crazy any second but fortunately, the door finally opened and Brian walked in. "Brian!!! About time you got home...I was so worried about you!!" Ji Hye yelled as she rushed over to Brian. "Sorry. You didn't have to worry." "Are you ok?? How'd it go??" "It went well. He won't ever come near you again." Brian said triumphantly. "Thanks Brian." Ji Hye said quietly. "No problem. Glad to do it." Brian said smiling while looking into her eyes. That's when Ji Hye finally noticed the cut on Brian's forehead. "Brian!!! Your forehead!! Oh my gosh!!" Ji Hye yelled as she dragged Brian into the room. "It's nothing. It's ok." "No, we have to clean it before it gets infected of something. Sit down on the bed." Ji Hye said as she went to get some medicine. She came back with them, sat by Brian who was sitting on the bed and leaning on the wall. She slowly wiped the blood away and put some medicine on it. Then she gently places a band-aid on the wound. She cleaned up the stuff and was about to put them away when Briann grabbed her wrist. "Brian...what...I'm gonna go put this away..." Ji Hye was cut shortly when Brian pulled Ji Hye into his arms and held onto her tightly. "Brian, what are you doing??" "Ji Hye yah...." Brian whispered into her ears. "Yeah??" "I love you." Brian had finally managed to get those three words out to Ji Hye. Ch. 13... Ji Hye couldn't believe what she had just heard. She slowly pulled back and looked Brian in the eye. "Ummm...w..wh..what did you just say??" "I said I love you Ji Hye." "Brian...I...I love you too." Ji Hye whispered. She was so happy and shocked at the same time. "Ummm...then you'll be my girlfriend??" "Yea." Ji Hye said as Brian's face came closer and closer to Ji Hye's face. Brian held Ji Hye closer and finally locked his lips on Ji Hye's and that night, Brian and Ji Hye shared their first kiss. Brian woke up the next morning cause the sun was shining on his face and when he turned sideways, he found Ji Hye next to him sleeping soundly. Brian didn't want Ji Hye to leave him last night so she had slept over at his house. Brian scooted himself closer to Ji Hye and then lightly put his arms around her. Ji Hye was still sleeping but then woke up quickly when she felt Brian's arms around her. "Good morning angel." Brian said smiling down at Ji Hye. "Ummm....good morning." Ji Hye said blushing. "Did you sleep ok??" "Yup. Oh, well, I guess we better get going." Ji said while she was slowly getting up but Brian suddenly pulled her back down on the bed. "Can't we just ditch school today and stay here??" Brian asked teasingly. "Hehehe....no babo. We have to go, it's the last day of school and then it's summer so get up." Ji Hye said hitting him playfully and trying to get up but once again Brian pulled her back down. He brought his face really close to hers. "I love you." Brian whispered before kissing Ji Hye passionately. "I love you too." Ji Hye said after the kiss had ended. They both got out of bed and headed for another day of school. *At school* Brian and Ji Hye got out Brian's car together and they both headed for the school entrance as usual when Brian suddenly grabbed Ji Hye's hand. So the two couple walked in hand and hand into the school. Word about Ji Hye and Brian got around school so fast that by the end of the day, EVERYBODY in school knew. "Yes!! School's finally over!!" Brian said seriously while tightening his hold on Ji Hye. "Thanks Brian." "No probl..." But before Brian could finish talking Ji Woo came out of nowhere and bumped into the two happy couple. Brian said trying to prevent the two girls from getting into something serious. "I was talking Ji Hye. You might've won this round Ji Hye but the war isn't over. You're not better than me and you'll never be!!" Ji Woo yelled angrily. "I never said that I was better than you Ji Woo, I think you need a hearing aid." Ji Hye said cooly. "Shut up!!!" Ji Woo yelled and then quickly walked away. Her face was literally turning all red from anger. "Hahaha....nice one Ji Hye." Brian said laughing. "Hehehe...mollah...I think it was kind of sullung (lame) but I didn't know what else to say." Ji Hye said laughing along with Brian. Brian and Ji Hye got into the car and just drove around. The two of them spent the rest of the day together just going anywhere and hanging out but then soon it was late and it was time to go home. Brian and Ji Hye were now in front of Ji Hye's apartment door but they didn't want to leave each other. "Well, I guess I better get going." Brian said but he didn't even budge an inch. "Ummm...yeah...I guess so." "Aish...I don't want to go." Brian said pouting. "Hehehe....I don't either but Brian...don't worry...I'll see you tomorrow." Ji Hye said smiling. "Ok ok." Brian said. He hugged Ji Hye one last time and finally managed to walk away from Ji Hye and head towards his house. *Brian's house* Brian was tired so he went straight to bed. He was lying in bed just thinking. 'I'm so happy. I can't believe how long I took to realize how much I love Ji Hye. You're such a babo Brian...but at least I have her now and that's all that matters now. He didn't know where she was and he couldn't see anything through the darkness. "Brian!!!! Help!!!!" Ji Hye's screaming was beginning to fade away. Brian could tell that they were falling apart from each other. They were drifting further and further apart. "JI HYE!!!!!!!!!!!" Brian yelled and woke up sweating and panting like crazy. Brian looked around and he was in his bed in his room. 'It was a dream...it was a dream...it was only a dream...' Brian kept trying to reassure himself that everything was ok but he couldn't. He grabbed the phone and called Ji Hye's house but no one picked up. 'Ji Hye yah, why aren't you picking up?!?!' Brian had this terrible feeling that something bad might have happened to Ji Hye. He quickly got dressed and ran out the door, into his car, and drove to Ji Hye's house. Brian quickly parked the car and ran into the building. He was about to take the elevator but it was out of order. 'Just great!! Ji Hye yah, please be ok.' Brian ran up all the stairs, he was tired but he couldn't stop, he was sweating and panting but he couldn't stop, he had to be sure that Ji Hye was ok. Brian finally reached Ji Hye's floor and rushed to her door and started banging on it. Ji Hye slowly got out of bed. 'Man, I wonder who it is?? Don't they even know what time it is??' Ji Hye was kind of grumpy that someone had woken her up in the middle of the night. She reached the door and opened it. "Brian!!" Ji Hye yelled in shock. Brian was leaning on the side of the door and he was sweating and panting really hard. "Ji Hye yah.....you....you're ok...." Brian said with a smile looking at Ji Hye. Ch.14... "Ji Hye yah.....you....you're ok...." Brian said with a smile looking at Ji Hye. "B..Brian!! What happened?!?!" Ji Hye asked in fright as she helping Brian in and sitting him on the couch. "I...I..." "Hold on, I'm going to go get you some water." After Brian drank some water, he finally caught his breath and he began to breathe normally again. "Brian...what happ..." Ji Hye was cut short when Brian suddenly pulled her into his arms. "I..I was so worried and scared...I had to make sure that you were ok." "Brian, I'm fine. Why were you worried and scared babo??" Ji Hye asked laughing at Brian's strange behavior. "It...it was this dream. I know it's stupid but it felt so real." "Ummm....I see. Tell me about it." "Ok. Well, I was somewhere really dark and I couldn't see anything at all. And you kept yelling to me for help, I could tell that you were crying and you were so scared. You...you kept yelling for me but I couldn't find you. You were in trouble but I couldn't do anything....I tried so hard to find you but it felt like someone was pulling you away from me." Brian finished talking and pulled Ji Hye closer to him. He was scared that she might disappear any second. "Hehehe...Brian. It was just a dream silly, don't let it get to you." "Well...since it's late and everything...and since I came ALL the way over here to see you...can't I just spend the night at your place??" Brian asked pleadingly. "Hehehe...aigoo...fine." "Hehehe...cool." Brian said happily. "Yeah yeah but I'm tired so I'm gonna go to bed. Have fun with the couch." Ji Hye said mockingly and walked into her room and closed the door. "Hey!! Brian waited and waited for Ji Hye to come out but he finally realized that she wasn't coming back out when the lights went off in her room. 'Oh my gosh, did she just turn off the lights and go to bed??' Brian got off the couch and quietly walked into Ji Hye's room. He tiptoed to Ji Hye's bed and then gently went under the covers, lying next to Ji Hye. Brian put his arms around her and pulled Ji Hye into his embrace. "Hehehe...took you long enough babo." "Hey, where are you going so early??" Brian asked as he got out of bed and walked over to Ji Hye. "I have to go to that old downtown library for some research." "Research?? Wait...isn't school out??" Brian asked confused. "Hehehe....yes school is out babo but I have to do this one research thingy for this course I'm taking next year." "Hehehe....oh...gotch ya!!" "I have to get going now. I'm sorry but I didn't have time to make you breakfast. You can fix something up right??" Ji Hye said as she headed for the door. "Yeah but I'm gonna go with you." Brian said following Ji Hye. "What?? Why??" Ji Hye asked confused. Ji Hye knew how much Brian hated the library. Brian had gotten himself and Ji Hye kicked out of three different libraries this year. "Cause I wanna be with you." "That is the reason...and some other reasons are that the downtown is pretty dangerous and I still have a bad feeling about the dream so I don't really want you to go out alone today." Brian said caringly. "Brian, it's really great that you're looking out for me but I'll be fine. I'll be back around eight and I really can't afford to get kicked out of this library too." Get her in the car and let's get out of here." One of the men carried Ji Hye to a car and after that, everything went black. *Ji Hye's house* Brian paced back and forth looking at the clock that now read 9:30. 'Where is she?!?! She was supposed to be here over an hour ago!! Damn it, and she's not answering her cell either!!!' Brian couldn't take it anymore, he ran out of the house and drove quickly to the library. Once he got there, he realized that the library was pretty much closed and only one librarian was left and she was walking out of the library, locking the doors after her. "Excuse me??" "Yes, can I help you??" "Are you guys closed??" "Yes we are." "Oh, well...ummm...I'm looking for this girl...she's..." Brian described Ji Hye's features to the librarian. "I'm sorry but I've seen so many girls that match that profile." "Oh..I see...ummm...thank you for your time." "I'm sorry I wasn't much help." The librarian said sympathetically and started to walk away. "Ji Hye yah, where are you??" Brian whispered but the librarian was able to hear him. "Ji Hye?? Did you just say Ji Hye??" The librarian asked as she turned back to Brian. "Ummm....yes. Does the name ring a bell??" Brian asked desperately. "Oh yes. She was the sweet girl who came in at morning and stayed for hours." "Yea, that's her. Do you kno when she left??" "Oh my, she left hours ago. Oh, I must get going. Goodbye." The librarian said and walked away. 'She left hours ago?? Then why didn't she come home?!?! The guys had tied her to some pole or something and she was blindfolded. She just sat there crying silently to herself. 'Brian...what do I do?? I'm so scared...' "So this is the girl huh??" A guy said. "Yes, sir." Another guy answered. "I hate the guy but I must admit that he does have good taste in girls." "I know." The other guy said laughing evily. "Well, I'll deal with her later. I have a very important phone call to make right now." Said on of the men and then they were all gone and Ji Hye was once again left alone in the cold scary room. *Brian's house* Brian slowly walked into his empty house and slowly sat on the couch. He had searched for any sign of Ji Hye for hours and he had even gone to the police but they said they couldn't do anything until it had past 24 hours. Brian didn't know what to do anymore. 'Ji Hye yah...where are you??? Are you ok??? Are you hurt?? Please....please....be ok...Ji Hye yah...where are you?!?!' Brian suddenly got up from the couch and just threw everything off the table in front of him and then turned the table upside down. He then just got down on his knees and began to cry. "Ji Hye yah, where are you?? Please God, please...please...let her be ok. Please...don't take her away from me....I need her...I love her so much..." Brian was crying uncontrollobly when the phone rang. Brian rushed to the phone, hoping that it was Ji Hye. "Hello?!?!" Brian practically yelled into the phone. "Now...now...should you really be answering the phone so loudly??" A guy asked in a mocking tone. "What the ****?!?! Who is this?!?! I don't have time to play stupid games!!" Brian yelled angrily into the phone. "Awww....don't tell me that you don't remember my voice Brian. Come on Brian, think." Brian thought for a moment, trying to match the voice with a person and only one match came up. 'No...no!!! Please...no...let this be a joke...it can't be...Chris?!?!' :::::*Flashback*::::: Brian, Chris, Eric, Dongwan, Hye Sung, Jun Jin, Minwoo, and Andy just sat around the old building just hanging out and drinking a little. "Ey, so I have this really great idea." Chris said triumphantly. "What is it??" Andy asked curious. "Well, I noticed that the National Bank has a pretty easy alarm system and everything so I say we rob it." "............" No one exactly knew what to say. They would steal little things sometimes but none of them ever really thought about robbing something big, especially something like a bank. "Well?? You guys say something." Chris said eagerly. "Chris....sorry pal, but we're not cool with that." Brian said. "What?!?! You're kidding, right?!?!" "Come on Chris, why do you wanna rob a bank anyway?? You come from a really rich family, we all do. We might steal little things for fun but robbing a bank is a different and much bigger deal. I mean, if we got caught, you know what would happen to us." Brian said calmly. "What?!?! We could do this. Come on, we're Shinhwa!!! We're one of the best kkang pae groups around!!" Chris yelled, his anger slowly rising. "Chris, calm down." Hye Sung said trying to stop Chris from going out of control. "Shut up!! Do you guys all feel the same?!?! So none of you guys are in?!?!" Chris asked angrily. "Sorry man but I'm not up for that. I don't need the trouble." Eric said and everybody else agreed. "Brian??" "I'm sorry. I'm not up for it." Brian said seriously. "The great Brian. The leader of the ol great Shinhwa is afraid of a little trouble?? Is that it?? You chicken Brian??" Chris said with a smirk and looked Brian straight in the eye. "Shut up!! If you wanna go do something so stupid, go do ahead but don't take other people down with you!!" Brian yelled. "Fine, I'll do it myself and I'll show you guys. You'll be crawling on your knees for me to come back. I quit!!" Chris yelled angrily and walked out of the building and that was the last time Brian and the members of Shinhwa ever saw him. About a month later, the newspaper showed that Chris had tried to rob the bank but was caught and he had been sent to prison. About a month after that, some kkang pae group had tried to hurt Ji Hye just because Brian was the leader of Shinhwa and he didn't want to risk Ji Hye so he quit the group also. However, he still kept in touch with Shinhwa and they were tight friends so no one dared to mess with Brian if they knew about his background. :::::*End of flashback*::::: "C...Chris??" All he knew was that he had to get her back from the Chris. Brian angrily threw a book off the table and dialed Eric's number. "Hello??" Eric answered half asleep. "Ey, Eric. It's Brian." "Ey, what's up man?? This better be good cause it's freaking early." Eric practically whined. "Chris is back." Brian said in a dangerous tone. "WHAT?!?!?" Eric yelled into the phone now fully awake. "I need your help. I'll be over at your place in a few minutes so have the rest of the guys come over, aiite??" "Aiite. Latez." Eric said also angry and hung up the phone. After hanging up, Brian quickly grabbed his keys and headed for Eric's house. 'Ji Hye yah....please be ok...I'm coming, ok?? Please...be ok and just hold on a little longer...I'm coming...' Brian thought as tears slowly rolled down his cheeks. Once Brian reached Eric's house, he quickly got out of the car and invited himself in. Brian said silently. He was starting to slowly breakdown again. "That @#&%$@&&#&%#!*@#!!!! Why the heck is he involving her in all this?!?! What a sissy, he can't even settle the score himself!!!" Minwoo yelled angrily. "Don't worry Brian. We'll get back Ji Hye and then kick that #*#&$%#$@*$#&$%#$#'s butt." Eric said trying to comfort Brian. The cup shattered into millions of pieces from Brain's powerful, brutal throw. "Ugh...Eric I'm sorry man it's just that..." Brian started apologizing but Eric cut him off. "Ey, no problem. I never really liked that cup anywayz." "Aiite. It's just that....we have to find Ji Hye Eric....we HAVE to find her...I need her...she means everything to me..." Brian then broke down into tears and just started crying. The rest of the guys tried their best to comfort Brian but it was hopeless. The only person that could help Brian now was Ji Hye. Hye Sung searched and searched for any clue that would lead to his hide out but he wasn't really having much luck. Hye Sung took out his cell and called Eric's house. Eric answered the phone on the first ring and turned on the speaker so that everybody could hear. "So what'd you find out??" Brian asked desperately. "I'm sorry Brian but I wasn't able to find out where Chris is yet but I found out why he's out of jail. Apparently, he was in jail but he was released early because his father had some dirt on the judge or something so Chris's father basically blackmailed Chris out of jail. "I know but...but...what if he....what if he does something bad to her...what if he..." Brian couldn't finish his thoughts. He didn't even want to think about what Chris might do to Ji Hye. *At the building* Chris lazily sat around one of rooms happily. Chris was so happy that his plan was going so perfectly. Chris laughed like a madman and then he slowly walked out of the room and headed for the room that Ji Hye was in. Chris slowly walked into the room and found her crying as usual. Ch. 17... Ji Hye tried everything to make Chris stop but he continued with his evil deeds. Chris was just about to unbutton the second button on Ji Hye's top when the door suddenly burst open. Brian suddenly seem to wake up from his depression and dashed for the phone. "Hye Sung?!?!" The rest of the members soon joined him and they were off to go see Hye Sung. Once they arrived at the place, everyone quickly got out of the door and ran over to Hye Sung. "Where are they?!?!" "The two of them just walked into that alley over...by themselves...I guess they wanted to smoke or something...we can take care of this without causing anything big." "Oh, aiite. Let's go." One of the guys asked. "Tell us where Chris is and there'll be no problem." Eric said calmly. "I'm not telling you jack so get lost." "Tell me where that bastard is now or you'll be sorry." Brian said in a threatening tone. The two guys slightly jumped from Brian's tone but they're pride wouldn't let them back down. "I told you to get lost!!" The guy yelled as he was about to throw a punch at Brian, however, Brian caught the fist in mid-air and punched the guy instead. The other guy came forward but Minwoo stopped him. After some beating from the seven guys, one guy was completely out and the other was about to join him. Brian hastily grabbed the guy by the collar. "TELL ME WHERE HE IS!!!!" Brian yelled angrily. "........." The guy didn't say anything and just shook with fear. "TELL ME WHERE HE IS YOU #*$&%$&#*$$&#*$&#*# OR I'LL KILL YOU!!!!" Brian yelled as he was losing his patience. Minwoo yelled pointing to a big old warehouse looking place. Brian sharply turned the car into the parking lot and jumped out of the car with the other guys. They ran towards the door and opened it to find a couple of guys just sitting around and playing cards. When Brian and Shinhwa ran in, they all jumped out of their chairs and got ready to fight. "Just tell us where the girl is and wel let you go free." Hye Sung said in a threatening voice. Ha!! No way!! We're not afraid of you....you guys are nothing." One of the guys said defiantly. "Oh really?? Did I just hear this right....I think that guy right there said Shinhwa was nothing." Dong Wan said with a smirk. After hearing who they were, most of Chris men jumped a little but kept up their defense. You're...you're Shinhwa?? The Shinhwa??" "Yea....so tell us where the she is!!" Brian yelled angrily. "No..we can't do that." "Well....you know what then you guys are dead!!!!" Brian yelled and punched the first guy closest to him right in the face and then everybody else jumped in. Brian was busy beating the crap out of one of the guys when Eric called him. "Brian!! We'll take care of these bastards...so find Ji Hye!!!" Eric yelled while taking on three guys at the same time. "Are you sure??" "Yea....we'll be fine." Eric said taking out the three guys in a second and moving on to the other guys. "Aiite." Brian replied and ran from the scene to go look for Ji Hye. Brian went up the stairs and ran around crazy looking for Ji Hye but couldn find her anywhere. "Ji Hye yah!!!!!!! Where are you?!?!" Brian yelled into the halls getting desperate. Brian continued to yell for her but got no response. Brian opened door after door finding nothing but emptiness. He went on to the next floor and opened the door but only found an empty room with a little table. Brian was about to move on when he spotted something on top of the table. Brian cautiously walked towards the object. It was a tape recorder. Brian looked around the room but found no one. He picked the recorder up and pressed play. As soon as the play button went down, Chris voice filled the room. "Ey, Brian. What up man?? Haha...like my recorder?? Don't you think it's neat?? Haha....anyway I'm sure you're desperately looking for Ji Hye right now and getting impatient so I'll just get straight to the point. I knew that you were going to find me sooner or later Brian. You know...Hye Sung is really good at what he does. However, just because you found me doesn't mean you've found Ji Hye. Now don't worry I promise you that Ji Hye is with me somewhere in this building and I sure you'll find her eventually but the question is....will you find her in time?? Brian looked down at his watch. 9:51. Brian had till ten to find Ji Hye but he had no idea where to start and the building was huge. Brian ran around the building like crazy trying to find Ji Hye but he couldn;t find her anywhere. Brian once again looked down at his watch. 9:56. "NO!!!!! CHRIS YOU $#*$*&%%$@%$$#*%$&$!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! JI HYE YAH!!!!!!!!!" Brian yelled and sobbed as he fell to the floor. "Please....God if you can hear me....help me..." Brian flew down the stairs and headed for the basement. After Brian finally reached the bottom of the building, he found the basement down and pulled it open. Brian ran into the room and was filled with fear. The room was completely empty. There was no one there. 'No.....no!!!!! This...this can't be....' Brian started to panic and started to looking around the room like crazy wishing that Chris would be there but he was nowhere to be seen. Tears streamed down from Brian's face as he continued to run around the big basement. Then something suddenly caught his eye. It was door handle on the floor. Brian quickly pulled it open and found some stairs. Brian quickly ran down the stairs and ran through the little hallway. From somewhere not to far away, Brian could hearing little crying noises. 'Ji Hye...it's Ji Hye!!!' Brian ran even faster and pushed open the door at the end of the hall and finally found the two people that he had desperately searched for. "Ji Hye yah!!!" Brian yelled as he burst into the room. Chris was holding onto he from the back and had a gun pointed right at her head. "My my....I never really expected you to find us. I was starting to give up on you Brian." Chris smirked as he firmly held onto Ji Hye and the gun. "Let her go you bastard, I'm here and I'm the one you want so just let her go." Brian said in a deadly tone. "Ha....let her go?? Now why would I want to do such a stupid thing like that??" "JUST LET HER GO YOU &%$&#*@%#%$&*%$*$&!!!!! As soon as Ji Hye heard Brian's words, she frantically shook her head. She didn’t want Brian to die, especially just to save her life. "Ha.....I'm sorry Brian but it looks like your girl here agrees with me. Get up!!! Get up from your knees now or I kill her now!!!!" Brian was about to beg and plead some more but he suddenly saw another figure coming in from the window from behind Chris. The figure was Eric. Eric quietly climbed through the window and quietly walked towards Chris. Brian quickly stood up. "Ji Hye.....everything's going to be ok." Brian said reassuringly trying to stop Ji Hye from crying. "Chris.....there's something I've alwayz wanted to tell you." "Oh, really?? Now what would that be??" "I hope you rot in your jail cell and then rot in hell." Brian smirked. "What??" Chris asked kind of confused and right then Eric hit Chris on the head and pulled him away from Ji Hye. Chris fell to the floor and Eric started pounding on him. Brian ran over to Ji Hye and pulled her into his arms. Ji Hye buried her face into Brian's chest and cried her heart out. "B-Brian.....Brian....." Ji Hye stammered. "It's ok.....shhhh.....it's ok. You're ok now. I'm here." Brian said tightening his hold on Ji Hye and kissing her gently on the forehead. Eric beat the crap out of Chris and he finally seemed to pass out so he walked over to Brian and Ji Hye. "Are you guys ok??" Eric asked. Brian and Ji Hye just both nodded. "Ji Hye yah.....let's get out of here, ok??" "Ok." Brian slowly helped Ji Hye and held onto her hand tightly. Eric first walked out in front of them and Brian and Ji Hye slowly followed when they heard something. Eric was already gone but Brian and Ji Hye turned around to see what it was. The second they turned around a large gun shot sound rang in their ears. Brian looked towards Chris's direction and found him holding the gun up. "You'll go through hell now Brian Joo." Chris said and then passed out. Brian didn't get what he was saying until he felt Ji Hye's hand slowly falling from his. Brian turned to Ji Hye but she started to fall. Brian, however, caught her right before she hit the floor. Ji Hye was bleeding. Brian felt like the world had just stopped for him. Chris had shot Ji Hye. "No.....no.....Ji Hye yah....." Brian stuttered while holding onto Ji Hye tightly. "Ji Hye yah.....please.....say something." Tears fell from Brian's eyes. "B-Brian....." Ji Hye barely whispered. Just then Eric ran into the room. "What the heck happened?!?!" Eric asked completely shocked. "Call 911!!! Get an ambulance now!!" Brian yelled frantically. Eric quickly ran out of the room and went to find a phone. "Ji Hye yah.....please hold on.....Eric went to call an ambulance, ok?? Everything's going to be ok......just hold on a little, ok??” "Ok....." Ji Hye whispered once again. Brian held onto Ji Hye even tighter and cried even harder when he noticed that Ji Hye was getting very pale and her body was cold. No matter how much Brian yelled for Ji Hye, she didn't wake up. Ch. 20... The paramedics soon arrived but Ji Hye had passed out. The paramedics quickly placed Ji Hye in the car and drove to the hospital along with Brian. Brian followed Ji Hye while holding onto her hand all the way to the ER where he was stopped by some security guards. The doctor quickly took Ji Hye into the room while Brian paced back in forth in front of the door. Brian was so busy thinking and pacing back and forth that he didn’t he notice that Eric had come. Eric slightly tapped Brian on the shoulder causing Brian to jump. "Sorry man, I didn't mean to scare you." Eric said apologizing. "It's ok." "Ummm...how is she??" "I don't know and the *$&#%$#&*@&#*# doctors won't tell me jack!! They've been in there forever!!" Brian yelled angrily as he punched the wall a couple of time. The wall slowly began to form some cracks from Brian's brutal beatings. Eric quickly pulled Brian away from the wall and looked at Brian's hands. They weren't bleeding but they were badly bruised up. "Brian...I know that you care about her...but don't do this...this isn't gonna solve anything...imagine what Ji Hye would say if she saw you right now." Eric said trying to comfort Brian but at this point, nothing seemed to be going through Brian's head except Ji Hye and the guilt. After about an hour later, the doctors finally walked out of the ER. Brian practically knocked over the doctor while running over to him. "Is she ok??? Is she??" Brian asked frantically. "She had lost a lot of blood but the surgery went well and we were able to stabilize her..." "Oh thank you...thank you so much!!" Brian said giving out a huge sigh of relief even before the doctor stopped talking. "But..." "But?? What do you mean but??" Brian asked with fear rushing over him once again. "But I'm afraid she's in a coma." "A...coma??" "Yes." "When...when will she wake up?? She'll wake up soon and she'll be ok, right??" Brian asked frantically. "I'm afraid we can't predict when she'll wake up. She can wake up tomorrow...next week...next month...next year...or...she might not even wake up at all..." "What?!?! No...no...she has to wake up...she can't leave me...no...she has to be alright...no..." Brian started breaking down right in front of the doctor. Eric quickly ran over to Brian and helped him get up as the doctor sadly walked away. "Eric...Ji Hye...she she..." Brian had trouble talking through all his tears. "I know...I heard...I'm so sorry Brian...but I'm sure she'll be alright..." Eric said comfortingly. "I...I have to see her...where..." "She's in room 666." Eric said as he led Brian to Ji Hye's room. Brian once again slowly reached for the doorknob and slowly turned it. Brian slowly walked in and closed the door behind him. He walked over to the chair that was next to Ji Hye's bed and sat down. Brian held onto Ji Hye's hand and began to cry once again. Ji Hye looked so pale and her hands were freezing. Brian held onto her hands trying to warm them up as he watched Ji Hye. "Ji Hye yah...please...wake up...come on...you can't leave me like this...remember that promise we made to each other when we were small?? Remember?? We promised each other that we would grow old and then die together...and then leave this world together so we won't ever lose each other...remember?? "Ummm...got who??" Brian asked confused and sleepy. "Chris. The cops caught him." "What?!?! When?!?!" Brian asked quickly snapping out of his sleepiness. "Like last night. They found the gun on him. He's at ****** jail. He's been sentenced to live there till death." "That *$&%$#%$&*&$# deserves worse." Brian said in a deadly tone. "I know what you mean." Eric said upset that Chris hadn't gotten the death penalty. "Thanks man. I gotta jet, I'll talk to you laterz." "Aiite, laterz man." After Brian hung up, he looked over at Ji Hye. She still wasn't awake. Brian sat on the bed and slowly started trace her face with his finger. He then gently reached over and kissed her forehead. "Good morning princess." Brian said sadly. "I'm gonna go somewhere real fast. I promise to come back asap, ok?? I love you." You can go right through that door and Mr. Jung will be brought out soon." The security lady said pointing to a door. Brian hesitantly walked through the door and sat down. Soon enough, Chris was brought out and placed on the other side of the window. Brian glared at Chris as soon as he sat down. "Wow, I've actually got a visitor and it's the wonderful Brian. Now what do I owe the pleasure??" Chris said mockingly. "Shut the &%$* up. I'm not here to chit chat with your ugly &$#@&#. I just came here to make sure that you were in this place and that you suffer." Brian said in a cold voice. "Ha...I'll be fine you bastard. You should be happy that I'm here or else, I'd kick your sorry little butt right now." Chris said as he smirked at Brian. Brian was sick of Chris. He slowly got up from his seat and turned to leave. "You scared of me Brian Joo is that it?? You can't take me on??" Chris said still mocking him. Brian couldn't take it anymore. All the anger inside of him just burst. Brian ran back over to the window and glared at Chris. "I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU, YOU BASTARD!!!! AND DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO TAKE ME ON CAUSE I'D KILL YOU MAN!!!!! I'D KILL YOU!!!!!" Brian yelled in a dangerous tone. He punched the window, which didn't break since it's not made of glass, and ran out of the building. Brian ran into his car and angrily headed for the hospital. Brian calmed himself down a little and walked into Ji Hye's room. She was the same. There was no change in her what so ever. Brian sat down and was watching over sleep like he always did when the doctor walked in. "I see you're still here." The doctor said as he looked at Brian sympathetically. "Yeah." "We looked over Ji Hye's test results once again and she seems to be ok but we're not sure if she'll ever wake up. I've talked it over with her parents and they have agreed to consider letting Ji Hye go peacefully." "What?!?! You can't do that!!! You want to just pull the plug on her?!?! You can't do that!!!!! She's not even dead!!! She's going to come back!!!!" Brian yelled with anger, pain, and all sorts of mixed emotions ran through his heart. "Please, calm down. It's not a sure thing yet, I was letting her parents know that they had an option." "Get out." Brian said in a deadly tone. "Brian, please...calm down." "GET THE &$&*$&*# OUT BEFORE I DO SOMETHING WE'LL BOTH REGRET!!!!!" Brian yelled angrily. The doctor was completely shocked by Brian's actions and quickly walked out of the room. Brian stood up and kneeled down on his knees next to Ji Hye's bed holding onto her hand. "Ji Hye yah...don't listen to doctors. I know you're going to wake up soon. You have to Ji Hye. You can't just leave me like this and leave. What am I supposed to do then??" Tears began to roll down Brian's cheeks. "God...please...I know I've done so many bad things in my life...and I know that I haven't always followed your ways but please Lord...don't take Ji Hye away from me. I need her...I love her...please..don't take her from me. If you really need somebody...can't you take me instead?? Ji Hye doesn't deserve this...she deserves a full and happy life...please...just don't take her from me...take me...I love her so much..." Brian was having trouble talking because of his tears. Brian cried uncontrolobly as he held onto Ji Hye's hand. Brian cried his heart out for hours and finally slowly fell asleep. The next morning, Brian woke up and went home to change. The doctor came in after Brian left and checked up on her, he was about to leave when he noticed Ji Hye moving. "Mmm...where am I??" Ji Hye said slowly opening her eyes. "Ji Hye, you're finally awake. I'm you doctor. You're in a hospital right now." Ji Hye was confused for a second and then she began to remember everything. "Is...Brian ok??" Ji Hye asked worried something bad might happened to him. "He's physically ok but mentally he wasn't but I'm sure he'll be fine now." "What do you mean??" Ji Hye asked confused. "Brian was so worried about you. He stayed at the hospital all the day and only left to change and for showers. That boy really loves you." The doctor said with a smile. Ji Hye couldn't help but feel all warm and happy from the doctor's words. "Hehehe...I see. Do you know where he is right now??" "He went home a few minutes ago, don't worry he'll be back in about 5 minutes. He's always only gone for twenty minutes and then he rushes back. I have to go now so I'll check up on you later." The doctor said heading for the door. "Was Brain really worried??" Ji Hye asked. "Yes, he was." The doctor smiled and left the room leaving Ji Hye alone. 'Was Brian really that worried?? Hehehe...he's so cute. Hmmm...maybe I should...hmmm...no that'd be mean...but it'd be so funny...." Ji Hye was debating to herself about something when the door slowly began to open. Ji Hye quickly closed her eyes. Brian walked in and sat on the bed. He just stared at her for awhile and then gently reached over and kissed her lips. Ji Hye couldn't help but feel the warm tingle feeling inside of her. Ji Hye slowly opened her eyes. "Ji Hye yah?!?!" Brian said shocked. Ji Hye just opened her eyes and stared at him. "You're awake!!" Brian said happily and quickly pulled her into his arms for a big hug. Brian finally let her go when he felt sure enough that Ji Hye was really awake. "How are you feeling??" Brian asked. "Umm...who are you?? Where am I??" Ji Hye asked with a confused look on her face. As soon as Brian heard Ji Hye's words, he felt his heart stop. "W-what?? You...you don't know who I am?? Ji Hye yah...it's me Brian..." Brian said scared out of his mind. "Brian?? I'm sorry...I don't remember...actually I don't remember anything." Ji Hye said looking down. 'Awww...I feel kinda bad doing this to Brian...hehehe...but it's so funny.' Ji Hye thought while trying not to laugh. "Ji Hye yah...no...please...no...you...you can't have lost your memories. Please Ji Hye yah, try to remember." Brian said. Tears were beginning to fill his eyes. 'Awww...no...he's gonna cry. Ok, I should stop now...man Ji Hye, you're so mean.' Ji Hye thought as she saw tears slowly swelling up in Brian's eyes. "Wait, Brian. Hmm..aren't you the one that always use to break my toys when we were small and then hide them and then said I lost them?? And you would never do your homework and always try to copy off of mine and then get all bbi jut suh when I wouldn let you?? Are you that Brian??" Ji Hye said with a smile. "Yeah. Wait...if you remember all that then..." Brian said slowly finally catching on. Ji Hye burst into laughter after seeing Brian's expression. "Yah!!!!! How can you do that to me?!?! Do you know how worried I was?!?! That was so not funny!!!" Brian yelled angrily. Ji Hye was shocked by Brian's actions. She had never seen him so mad before. "I'm..sorry...I was just kidding...sorry." Ji Hye said looking down. Brian realized how stupid he was and began to feel really bad inside. He gently pulled Ji Hye back into his arms and held onto her tightly never wanting to let her go again. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get so mad. I was just really worried about you. I was afraid that I'd lose you forever." Brian whispered into her ears. "It's ok, I'm sorry too." Ji Hye whispered back. Brian slightly pulled back and then gently placed his lips on hers. He tightened his hold on her and deepened the kiss. He slowly pulled away and held her tightly in his arms. "Ji Hye yah..." "Yeah??" "I love you...don't ever leave me..." "I love you too Brain." Ji Hye said and quickly turned the other way blushing. She quickly closed her eyes and pretended to be sleeping when she felt Brian's arms go around her waist and pulled her into him.
