**Title : One Last Love

author's note : well i was getting writer's block on the Baby Love - First Love fic ... so i started this one ...

"promises are meant to keep ... but i'm sorry that i made one that i couldn't ... forgive me"

i tried ... i tried so much ... i'm always happy ... but that itself is only a act i put on so that my dad would stop yelling at me ... it's so hard to make him love me ... what's the use in trying if he'll never appreciate you ... my mom wanted me to be the best i could ever be ... i always came home with straight A's ... before my mom past away ... i lived to make her proud of me ... but all that i am doing now is living ... i want to die so much ... but a part of me wants me to wait ... i can't wait ... not any more ... not in a world that has no meaning

*alarm goes off*
the girl stares at the clock ... 7:15 am ... "another day ... why didn't i die already ... how long do i have to wait to see you again mom ..."
the girl then wiped her tears and got off her bed to get ready for school. she had to walk a whole mile to school ... since her dad wouldn't drive her there ... she didn't dare to ask him to ... for she might end up not going to school at all from the beating that could've occurred from asking for the ride.

he stepped out of his uncle's car ... and peered at his new school ... then he saw a girl ... walking ... alone ... a sad look carved on her face ... the wind blew a little and sent her pitch black medium length hair floating past her face and he saw her ... "my angel ..." he whispered

"pasia !" someone shouted from her left when she got onto school campus. she turned around tiredly to see who it was.
"hi minny !" i tried to smile. then she really smiled. school was the only place that she felt as if she belonged and felt safe in. "hi hosuk ..." minny and hosuk was one of pasia's best friend. she had silky necklength hair and a cute smile that could snatch any guy she wanted but she stayed with her 'hosukie' as she likes to call him.
"hi pasia ... you just got here ?"
"yeah ... i woke up kind of la..."
"PASIA !!!" a long wavy haired girl inturrupted. "there you are ... minwoo and i have been waiting all morning ... we though you got in trouble with your da..." then she stopped seeing tears start to form in pasia's eyes. "sorry ..."
"err ... oh !" hosuk said remembering something ... "i was wondering if you could show my new friend around school ... he's new ... there he is now !"
pasia turns to where hosuk was pointing and saw a white, skinny, tall guy. he looked good she had to admit. then she bit her lip ... "i can't ... i can't do this again ..." minny and izzy both saw the look in pasia's eyes and knew exactly what pasia was thinking and felt sad for her. they can always tell what pasia was thinking without pasia telling them, they'd known each other since they were seven years old.
*bell rings*
"hey well jae won ... this is pasia & she'll show you around school okay bye !" hosuk said in a hurry to get to class with minny.
"see you later pasia" minwoo and izzy waved.
"......"
"so do you have your schedule ?"
"oh yeah ... " jae won stopped staring at pasia and then frantically searched for his schedule. "umm ... here" handing the schedule to pasia, "i'm sorry if i'll get you late to your class"
"it's okay ... i'm a T.A for this period anyways ..." pasia said looking at jae won's schedule.
"so where do we go first?"
"L-16 ... wow ! tech. honors ... you must be very smart ... ja..." glances at the schedule "jae won"
"i guess" *smiles*
*he has such a cute smile ... no one's ever smiled to me except minny ... izzy ... hosuk ... and minwoo.* pasia blushes but her she quickly remembered what has happened before and stops
*she's so cute ... but why does she seem like she's in so much pain ...*
"well lets go ..." and with that pasia took jae won on a tour of the high school. she showed him his classes first ... tech. honors ... webdesign ... english ... chemestry ... accounting ... algebra 2 ... she found out that she and jae won would have the same chemestry class ... then she showed him the rest of the campus starting with the bathrooms because he needed to go bad. [it needed something fun ^-^]
after they got done touring the school they went to the snack machine and got some stuff to snack on.
"so do you like the school ?"
"what do you mean 'do i like the school'?"
"well you look sad ..."
*was it that obvious ...* pasia thought to herself
jae won saw the look in pasia's face ... "nm ... i was just thinking ... i always think ... sorry ..."
*ring ring* "well ... we better get to class ... see you pasia ... and thanks for everything" *smiles*
"uh ... okay ..." pasia answered back.
*why did he have to be so nice to me* then pasia started to her computer class. she loved her computer class ... she was the smartest ... and she felt needed in her class ... which always made her feel good ...

*Lunch*
"wow ... really ? you want to ? okay ... i'll ask minny to ask her ..." hosuk amazed at what jae won was telling him.
"thanks ... i dunno ... but i like her ... it's just something ..."
"hey baby" minny walks over and hugs hosuk. "what are you two talking about ?"
"oh ... mr.lee here wants to get to know with your pal pasia ... "
minny was shocked. she knew exactly where the realtionship would end if pasia went out with jaewon. it'll end the same way as her other boyfriends and minny didn't want to see her friend hurt again. minny opened her mouth to say something but pasia comes in smiling with minwoo and izzy. minwoo was the only guy that knows of pasia's past ... so he's always trying to make her smile ... most of the time it works.
"hi guys ..." pasia said to minny and hosuk ... "hi jae won" pasia said sounding weak
"hi pasia ... " jae won said shyly and blushed ... he's never blushed before ... and now infront of pasia made him blush even more
"puhahahaha !!!" hosuk bursted out laughing watching jae won blush that milk almost came out of his nose
"o.O what's up with the hyena ?"
"oh it's nothing minwoo ... don't mind my silly hosukie" minny says to minwoo patting hosuk on the back
"well guys ... i got to go ... need to work on the website my teacher wants me to finish by tomorrow ... later " and with that pasia left.
"pas ..." jae won tried to call pasia back ... but she was already out of site. "wow ... that girl's fast ..." everyone continued eating and talking ... jae won was half day dreaming and half awake thinking about pasia
*bell rings*
"izzy ... izzy ... can i talk to you ..."
"be right there minwoo ..."
"i got you babe " minwoo tried to imitate sonny.
"what's up ?"
"hosukie told me at lunch right before you and pasia came in that jae won wants to get to know with pasia ..."
"and you don't want pasia to get hurt again ..." izzy finished the sentence for minny.
"yeah ... should we tell pasia ... or let it just go ?"
"i'm not sure ... i'll call you tonight and we can talk about it ... i got to go or i'll be late ..."
"izzy ... " minny sighed and ran to class.

*chemestry class*

"i wonder if minny's told her yet ... she smiles at the teacher ... as if she already knows this stuff ... and here i am struggling ... -_- ... but how pretty she looks when she's happy ... i wonder why she's always sad ..."
"LEE JAE WON"
jae won looked up to see the teacher pointing his ruler at jae won ... giving jae won a warning about not paying attention in class. "i'm sorry ..." jae won apologized, then looked over at pasia. she was writing in her notebook as if she didn't care about the subject.
*at the same time*
pasia felt someone looking at her she stopped writing notes that seemed more to be doodling and she looked aroung the classroom ... then it happened ... she's been trying to avoid eye contact with jae won since she saw him ... but when she caught jae won's eyes staring at her she didn't want to do anything but gaze into his sparkly eyes. then she looked away.
"oh shiet ... what was i doing ..." she shook the memories out of her head ... thinking that if it left before it found a pernament place in her head it wouldn't hurt her like last time.
"she looked at me ... she looked right at me ... she actually LOOKED at me" jae won was feeling so happy ... he didn't know what he was feeling.
when class was over pasia hurried to her next class ... she didn't want to be confronted by jae won ... not now ...
jae won walked out of class looking for pasia ... but she already left ... "i'll wait for her after school then ..." and then he smiled again ... [it seems jae won likes to smile ]

*after school*
pasia thought that jae won was already home ... she went to the bathroom and stayed in there for twenty whole minutes ... wishing that she wouldn't see jae won ... then she peered outside ... "no one ... thank goodness !" she sighed. but just as she turned the corner ...
*CRASH*
"ouch ..."
"oh ... um sorry ... pasia ?!"
"OMG ... why is he still here ... -_-" pasia thought. "jae won ?"
"yeah ... you okay ..."
"uh yeah ... thanks for helping me ..."
"where were you ? i was waiting for you ... but then you never showed up ... so i was going to go home ... then i bumped into you ..."
pasia was angry ... she liked jae won ... a lot ... but she just couldn't face that fact that she would have to break another promise due to her dad ... she coulnd't look at jae won ... she just stared at the ground ... and started to walk away ... then something stopped her ...
"please ... wait" holding onto pasia's arm ...
"what do you want ..." trying to hold back her tears
"i don't even know if you like me the same way i like you ... but when i saw you this morning my heart was stolen ... you stole my heart ... and i ... i ..."
pasia turned around ... jae won could see now that pasia had tears coming down her cheeks ... "i'm sorry ... i ..."
then she felt someone's arms around her ... she felt safe ... she felt loved again ...
"you didn't let me finish ... i knew when i saw you ... i had to be with you ... if you'll let me ... you'll make me so happy ... i don't want to see you cry ..."
"jae won ... i'm sorry ..." then she broke the gental embrace that they were in and ran home ...
"sorry jae won ... i love you too much to have you hurt ... i'm sorry ..."

*telephone rings*
"izzy !!! hurry up ...it's minny !" izzy's mom hollered at izzy from downstairs.
"minny ?"
"duh ! it's not minwoo ... -_- ... so what should we do ?"
"do what ? o.O"
"you forgot huh ? typical izzy ... *sigh* ... well ... i wanted to know should we tell pasia about jae won's feelings for her ... or let her find out by herself ..."
"i dunno ... he seemed like a nice guy ... but so did the others ..."
"izzy ..." minny pleaded
"okay okay ... i'll tell her ... "
"thank you ..."
"BUT ..."
"but ... ?!"
"you have to be there with me k ?"
"no prob."
"okay then ... i got to go ... my mom needs the phone ... bye"
"thanks again izzy ..."
*click*
*click*

*back at the school*
jae won was stunned ... he didn't know what to do ... should he talk to her ... "no ... she probably doesn't want to see me ever again ... how stupid can i be ..." then he saw something on the ground ... a key chain ... he picked it up and saw a picture ... it was of a lady and pasia ... he picked up her key chain and ran the same direction that pasia ran hoping to give pasia back the key chain.

*pasia's house*
"daymn it ! where'd i put the keys" pasia said searching through her backpack and pockets "... dad's going to kill me if i lost the keys ..." then she started to think of the beatings her dad gave her ... and then to her mom ... "i miss you so much mom ..."
*jae won thinking*
"yes ! there she is ..."
"here ... you might need these ..."
pasia looked up to find jae won holding her keys in his hand. "thank you ..." and she grabbed the keys in jae won's hand but jae won closed his hand as soon as she had her hand on the keys. pasia looked up and then all of a sudden she felt something soft against her lips ... at first she was startled ... then she gave in ... she's had boyfriends ... but she's never kissed them ...
"please ? can you keep me in your heart ? that's all i ask ..."
"but jae won ... i ..."
"promise ?"
one half of pasia was saying ... "accect the love you've waited for ..." and the other half was saying ... "he doesn't need to be hurt ... you don't deserve to be hurt either ..." but then she nodded and answered ... "promise"
with that ... jae won kissed her one last time that night and then went home.

pasia didn't know it, but her dad was already inside. he saw everything. she opened the door and found her dad standing by the hallway. he started walking towards her ... cussing at her ... calling her a whore ... slut ... b-tch ... ect. she already knew that she wouldn't be able to go to school tomorrow.
"dad ... i can explain ..."
"you're just a lying whore ... i didn't raise you to become just a whore ..." then he started beating her ... she couldn't do anything to protect herself ...her dad kept on kicking and punching her ... she kept on crying ... she was use to crying for her mom ... but this time she wasn't ... this time she was crying for jae won ...
"i'm sorry .... i'm sorry ... jae won ... i'm sorry ... i can't keep my promise ... forgive me ..." she kept on repeating ... she cried and cried until she couldn't hear herself ... her dad left her there soaking in her blood from the head banging against the floor and walls and her ribs broken from the kicking and punching ... as usual ... he'd go drinking until dawn ...
pasia woke up 2 hours later ... still hurt ... internally as well as externally. pasia cried even more ... she remember what had happened last time ... her dad beaten up her last boyfriend so bad he almost died. it took her forever to forget kangta ... but she finally forgot about him ... she had to forget about him ... if she didn't ... he'd get hurt again ... then her eyes widen ...
"no ... he can't kill jae won ..." she crawled to the phone as fast as she can on her stomach ... her ribs being more bruised with each breath she took ... she had the phone in her hand and was going to call jae won ... but the phone rang first
"hello ?!"
"he ... hello ..." pasia managed to utter.
"pasia ?! what's wrong ?"
"......"
"oh no ... did your dad just ..." but izzy couldn't hear anything but weeping ... minwoo was looking at izzy's face ...
"what's wrong ?" minwoo asked concerned.
"her dad just beat her up again ..."
"then lets go already !!!" minwoo took his keys and grabbed izzy and they drove off to minny's house ... when minny opened the door she didn't have to wait for them to explain ... she could tell by the look on minwo and izzy's face ... minny quickly grabbed her jacket and ran into the backseat of minwoo's car.

"pasia !!!" they all screamed when they saw their friend laying in the middle of the dark hallway covered with blood.
"what happened ?" minwoo questioned.
"jae won ....."
izzy and minny looked at each other shocked ... did she already know ? did jae won deciede to tell her himself ?
"what about jae won?" izzy asked.
"dad saw me kiss him ... he got angry ... don't let anything happen to jae won ..." then she fainted
*pasia thinking* "mom ... i'm coming ... i'm finally coming ... i've waited so long ... i'm coming !"
minny grabbed the phone that was still in pasia's hand and dialed 911. the ambulance came and took them all to the hospital ...
minny was thinking ... "how could he do that to HIS own daughter ... not allowing her to love ... how could he ..." then she looked over toizzy and minwoo ... minwoo was by her bedside pasia's her hand ... izzy was on the other side holding her other hand. even though minwoo was only a friend ... he cared for pasia like it was his sister ... then she smiled ...
"i'm going now ... does anyone want a ride ?" minny asked. izzy shook her head ... but then minwoo said that izzy needed her rest and he'd watch over pasia
"okies baby ..." and izzy kissed minwoo goodnight and left with minny.
"do you think ..."
"that jae won decieded to tell her himself ..." minny finished the sentece for izzy again then added ... "i think he did ... i need to ask hosuk where jae won lives ... can we go there first ?"
"sure ..."
then minny did a U turn and started to head east towards hosuk's house.

"hey babe !" then his face changed when he saw minny's face. "what's wrong ?"
"you promise not to tell anyone ?"
"ofcourse i can ... you can tell me anything ..." and hosuk led minny and izzy into his livingroom. izzy sat there listening to minny tell hosuk of pasia's abusive past ...
"OMG !!! and you never told me ?" hosuk was surprised that they've kept a secret from him. "so why'd you come here ?"
"we need to find jae won ... make sure he's alright ... cause pasia's dad almost killed pasia's last boyfriend ... kangta"
"WHOA !!! almost killed kangta ? that guy's hard core ! sheesh ! i was wondering what happened to him ... and jae won doesn't even ..."
"i don't what hosuk ?"
"he was here the whole time ?"izzy said with a sigh of relief.
"yeah ... he came to sleep over ..."
"why didn't you say so ?"
"hi ..." jae won said walking over. "so i heard my name ... what were you guys talking about ?" jae won still smiling.
"............"
"come on ... tell me already !" izzy was feeling really bad for pasia ... she just couldn't hold it in anymore & she hollered it out ...
"PASIA WAS BEATEN UP ... SHE ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT ... NOT BY ANYONE TOO ... HER DAD ... BECAUSE HE SAW YOU KISSING HER!!!"
"WTF !" right at that moment lightening struck outside and it started to rain. "no ... it's all my fault ... she told me to stay away ... but i had to kiss her ... it's all my fault ... i let my angel down ... how could i be so stupid !!!" with that jae won ran outside in the rain crying his heart out.

*at the hospital 2 days later*

"jae won ... be careful ..."
minwoo heard her as he was walking in from school ... "you're up !"
"where am i ?" pasia asked looking around.
"we brought you here ..."
"where's jae won ? is he okay ? is he ? tell me !!! did my dad get to him ?" pasia almost screamed her head off then started crying.
"he's okay ... minny and izzy just called from hosuk's place ..." minwoo half lied trying to comfort pasia. "go to sleep ... the doctors says you'd need it ..." pasia smiled and went back to sleep.
the truth was that jae won's been missing for two days ... no one had any idea where he went ... they were afraid that pasia's dad must have gotten jae won ...
*pasia's dream*
"pasia !" ... pasia looks around to see who was calling her name ...
"jae won ?!" then all of a sudden she felt someone behind her ... it was jae won ... he'd came up behind her and hugged her.
"pasia ..."
"hm ?"
"don't ever leave me ... promise ? i love you too much to let you go"
tears started to form in pasia's eyes ... she was thinking back to the times that she wished she had died ... she was thinking ... was this why her mom let her live ? so that she could be happy for once in her life ... then she turned around to answer jae won ...
"jae won ... NO!!!!" horror filled pasia's eyes as she saw her dad ... he had a gun pointed directly at jae won ... "no ... no more hurt ..."
pasia woke up in the middle of the night covered with sweat ... she looked around to make sure she was still in the safe hospital away from her dad ... "but wait ... this wasn't her room ... what were those people going to do to her ..."
"pasia ... we going to operate on you tomorrow morning ... you have a large brain tumor forming in your brain ... there's a 50% chance that you might not make it ..."
pasia couldn't believe her ears ... she had a large brain tumor ... and there's only a 50% chance that she could make it ... she started to weep ... "why ? why do i have to suffer so much pain ? isn't loosing my mom bad enough ?"
"minny ... izzy ... hosuk ... and minwoo were standing by the door when the doctor said this ... minny and izzy broke down in tears ... minwoo tried to hold back his tears ... hosuk ... he left. hosuk went in search of jae won again ... he can't abandon her like this ... not now ... she's lost everything and this might be his last chance to see pasia alive.

*at the bar ...*
"jae won !"
jae won looked up ... he was drunk ... he'd been wondering the streets for a day in the rain ... and then he found his way into the bar ... his clothes were still drenched from the rain two nights ago ...
"jae won !!! are you going to abandon her like that ?"
"........"
"i think you should know this ... she was the one who told us to look for you and to keep you out of her dad's way so that he couldn't hurt you ... she loved you that much ! you can atleast visit her ... since it might be her last night ..." hosuk couldn't say the last sentence without crying
jae won looked at hosuk ... "i can't ... it's because of me she got hurt ... "
"she's got a tumor in her brain for heaven's sake !!!"
with this ... jae won was shocked ...
"she has a 50% chance of surving the operation that will be done tomorrow morning ..." hosuk said lowering his voice
"my angel ..." jae won murmured.
hosuk looked at his watch ... 6:50am ... "come on let's go ! there's not enough time left !" and ho suk was right ... there wasn't enough time left ...
when jae won and hosuk got to the hospital ... pasia was already being taken into the operation room ...
*2 hours later*

"how is she ?"everyone asked the doctor at the same time.
"she's resting ... we still don't know if she's going to make it ... let her rest ... you can visit in 2 hours ..."
"thank you doctor ... thank you so much !!!" minwoo almost kissed the doctor because he was so happy ... jae won was just relieved
*2 more hours passed*
a nurse came out of pasia's room ... she walked over to jae won ...
"jae won ?"
"yes ... it's me"
"she wants to see you ..."
"thank you ..."
jae won started to walk into pasia's room. he walked in. he couldn't believe that the pale fragile girl laying on the hospital bed was the girl he loved so much after just seeing her one day ... the girl who got hurt because of him ...
"jae won ..."
"it's me ..."
"so they didn't lie to me ... you are okay ... *cough*cough* ..." pasia said with a weak smile ...
"i'm sorry ..." then jae won broke down in tears ... "it's all my fault ... i'm the one that got you hurt ..."
pasia was crying now too ... she didn't want to see him cry ... jae won came over and hugged her ... she smiled ... then whispered to jae won ...
"thank you for setting me free ... now i can fly to my mom ... thank you for everything ... i'm sorry i couldn't keep my promise ... i love you jae won ..." then with her last breath she kissed his cheek and smiled to eternity.
"DOCTOR !!! GET IN HERE QUICK !!! I CAN'T LET HER LEAVE ME !!!" jae won screamed. "no ... pasia ... wake up ... you can't leave me ... you promised me ... no ..."

*3 months later*

i'm coming pasia ... we'll be together again ... & this time ... i won't let you get hurt because of me anymore ...
