Going to Church “Woo ya…wake up! It’s eight o’clock!” Theresa frantically woke up Minwoo. “Whoa…how did you get in?” Minwoo grunted sleepily. Theresa just held up a spare key in her hand and looked at him skeptically. “It’s kind of obvious when you have the spare key under your door mat…” Theresa rolled her eyes. Minwoo looked at her sheepishly as he pulled on his pants and shirt. “So, why did you pop in at such early hour, honey? YAWN…it’s eight A.M. Sunday.” Theresa gave a devilish smile. “I’m going to drag you to church with me. I’m always there by myself…while everyone goes with his or her family and friends. I want you to come along with me so that I don’t sit by myself all the time.” Theresa gave a huge grin as she tugged on Minwoo’s fresh shirt. “No~ I don’t want to…I don’t know anyone there.” “Nonsense. We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ…so that includes you.” Theresa sat on the bed with Minwoo. “But I haven’t been to church for such a long time…and even if I did…I go to a Protestant church…not Catholic. “Woo ya~ please? I’ll buy you a Jjangoo Ice kkehkki afterwards.” “Are you trying to bribe me?” Minwoo said as he lifted his eyebrow up. “…I guess…” Theresa mumbled meekly. “Okay! Let’s go to church!” Minwoo said enthusiastically. “Wait…you’re not just going for the Jjangoo Ice kkehkki, right?” “Ob course not…it’s time I say wassup to God for a change…” Theresa rolled her eyes again and went out into the living room. Few minutes later, Minwoo came out wearing a full tuxedo and looked like he was going to a prom, not mass. “Minwoo ya…we’re going to Sunday morning mass…not a ball. Go change into something more…casual…kind of like semi formal.” “Since you’re such an expert on it, why don’t you pick out my clothes?” Minwoo said sarcastically. “Chi~ fine, I will.” With that, Theresa brushed past him and went into his walk in closet. “Try these on…” “No…Mommy…help me put them on!” Theresa’s eyes: o.o…o.0…0.0…O.O Minwoo laughed hysterically at Theresa’s expressions. He saw Theresa turning red and turned around in embarrassment. This made Minwoo laugh harder. “Well, I’m waiting~” Minwoo said as he calmed his laughter. Slowly, Theresa undid his tux and got a dark polo shirt. She then unbuttoned Minwoo’s white shirt and vest and hung them up on the hangers…leaving Minwoo shirtless and bare-chested. “Na mut it ji? Admit it…I’m sexy.” Minwoo said teasingly as he fingered his stomach muscles…that made Theresa blush even more. Theresa smacked Minwoo’s buff shoulders. “Ya…I’m not your mom…why am I even changing your clothes for you?” “Because I’m gorgeous~ you want to hold me~ you want to kiss me~” Minwoo chanted with a smile on his face. Theresa pulled over the polo shirt over his head to shut him up. Then she handed him his pants. “Okay…wear this and come out to the living room…I’ll be waiting.” Theresa was about to leave when a strong pair of hands stopped her. “At least hand me a new pair of boxers! Hm…unless you want to help me get into- SLAM!” “Fine…you could have just nicely said no. Gees…” Minwoo called out loud. Theresa stopped in her tracks, rolled her eyes again, and continued her exit. * “Wow…this is your church you go so often?” Minwoo said like a little boy, fascinated. “Yeah…come on…the mass just started!” Theresa said hurriedly and scrambled into mass. Theresa dipped her finger on the holy water and made the sign of the cross. Minwoo just looked at her funny but did the same, just for the heck of it. Theresa quickly found an empty space on a pew and sat down and started to sing along with the choir. Minwoo was just checking out if there were any chicks in the singing people. Theresa smacked him. “Whoa…is that your pastor? Dang…he’s dressed up…” “Um…Priest…” Theresa corrected. “Who are those munchkins in white that’s following that…guy- I mean…Priest?” Theresa looked peeved for a minute because he just called her friends munchkins. “They’re altar servers…they help the Father do mass. Hush! We’re starting.” The Priest gave the sign of the cross and started mass. Everyone followed except Minwoo, who was a little confused and didn’t know what people were doing. Theresa giggled and helped Minwoo make the sign of the cross. Minwoo gave one of his I-KNEW-THAT look. During the homily, a nun walked back and forth preparing the bread and wine. Minwoo noticed this and asked Theresa, “Hey Theresa, who’s that hot chick that’s moving the stuff around back there?” Theresa looked back and saw a nun walking back and forth. “YOU THINK SHE’S HOT?” Theresa hissed to Minwoo. “Yeah…man…look at her figure, and her face. Dang…she’s fine!” “Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but you can’t hit on her.” Theresa said matter-of-factly. “Why not?” “Because, she’s not allowed to have love relationships with other people…and secondly, you’re with me!” Theresa said a little bit too loud. Few people shot a look at her, making her embarrassed. “Dang it…she was hot though…” Minwoo continued whispering until Theresa gave him a look. When the offering basket went around, Minwoo’s eyes bulged out. “Whoa…can we take couple bucks?” Minwoo quietly giggled to Theresa. “No dear…we put IN couple buck into the basket.” With that, Theresa dropped in couple dollars and passed the basket on. Everything else went fine until everyone suddenly started kneeling. Minwoo, not knowing what was going on, just sat there and watched Theresa looking up at the Priest. Bored, his eyes shifted to the altar servers and started to check them out…but the girl in there was too fat for his taste. Suddenly, Theresa got up and grabbed Minwoo’s hands. He looked around and everyone started holding hands…even the guy next to him. ‘Ew…what does he think he’s doing…I wonder if he’s gay…’ Minwoo thought until he saw that everyone had linked hands and started to say something. Ah yes…it was the Lord’s Prayer…something that he knew by heart since he was a child. Minwoo proudly said the prayer together and felt unity within the church. After mass, Theresa and Minwoo went into the hall for some lunch. Against the other walls, people were selling some figurines and other church related items. Minwoo picked up a necklace-looking thing and put it up to his chest to see if it looked good on him. Everyone gave him a weird look, but didn’t say anything. Theresa laughed at him when she saw what he was doing. “Minwoo, that’s not a necklace; it’s a rosary. It something to help you pray.” “Really? Aw…it looks awesome though. How does it help you pray? Does it come to life or something?” “Aigo~ no. It helps you keep track of how many Hail Mary’s you did. See, you say 10 Hail Mary’s and a Lords Prayer here and etc.” “Oh.” Minwoo was still a little confused, and decided to just move along and get some lunch. The lunch wasn’t all that great, but it was edible. It was a “Mat it nun go yang” kal gook soo. “So you do this every week?” Minwoo asked with his mouth full and noodles stringing down. “Haha…yeah…you want to come with me every week? Maybe consider being Catholic with me?” “Hm…I don’t know…give me some time. I’ll think about it…since you’re my girlfriend…and just for my safety…in case you start smacking me if I reject your offer.” “MO YA?!” Theresa dropped her chopsticks and started hitting Minwoo who ducked and covered himself for safety.
