**I Can Never Forget You Woo Hyuk stood in the middle of the bloodstained racing tracks. He felt his life draining as minutes flew by. His blood ran wintry cold with waves of trauma flickering before him. The sirens of the ambulance shrieked in his ears as the heat of the night crammed down his throat in nauseating doses. Policemen envelop the hazy scene. The screeching sounds of the motorcycle were all he could remember and the face of the one he once loved revolved in his mind continuously for the past fifteen minutes. Woo Hyuk's tall slim body was yet still quivering from shock that struck him like lightening. Frozen tears stained his insensate face. He stared blankly at his yellow motorcycle lying motionless by the concrete fencing of the tracks. It all happened so fast. By now it was just an enormous piece of deformed metal. The hundreds of people that once crowded the racing tracks decrease to a number of less than ten. The cheers that deafened the stadium echoed in his mind still and all that happened that night replayed itself utterly. *Flashback* The two gangs gathered at the abandoned stadium, the noise of the people were immense. The leaders of the two gangs, Tony and Woo Hyuk were ready at the starting line in their glistening motorcycles. The gang Sniper and NBK were racing; the winner of the race takes over Twilight Square. Sniper and NBK were rival gangs that always fought over the ownership of territories. The gangs usually solve problems by fighting or racing. Woo Hyuk was the leader of NBK, which stood for Natural Born Killer. His hair was dyed in a radiant chestnut brown streaked in shocking blond. Tony was the leader of Sniper; he had pure blond hair, contrasting with the piercing darkness. They were both almost equal in size and strength. The race was about to begin and excitement and intensity clung onto the hazy atmosphere. There were neither stars nor moon that shone that summer night. The air was smoky combining with the intoxicating smell of running engines that worsened in the feverish heat. Woo Hyuk spotted a girl dressed in bright pink standing in the crowd; her long straight hair shimmered as the lights reflected on it. He recognized her immediately. he promised me she wouldn’t come! Why did she come? He thought. He stared at his girlfriend from afar but he could still see the tears dwelling in her twinkling eyes. The race was about to begin. Tony already had his red helmet on more ready than ever, his big, round eyes was shining with triumph and confidence. Woo Hyuk took one last look at the girl before placing his helmet on. “Sorry, this will be my last race I promise!” he thought. The exploding gunshot was heard and the two motorcycles raced off leaving only clouds of gasping smoke. Sandy watched from the wild crowd silently. Suddenly, her cell phone rang. The musical ring tone was barely audible in a place that was swallowed by endless cheering and screams. “Hello?” it was her friend, Angie. "Sandy! You can let Woo Hyuk race!" Sandy could hear that her voice was shaking with anxiety. "Why?" she felt her heart skip a beat or two. "I heard Sniper is going to cheat, they stabbed nails onto the grounds of Woo Hyuk's racing track! If he runs over it... Sandy, he could win this race, but you know Sniper won allow it!" The cellular phone slipped out of her hand like ice and shattered as it hit the ground into innumerable pieces. She could feel her insides tearing. The motorcycles were almost to the finish line. Woo Hyuk was ahead but Tony was not far behind, they were an arms-length away. Woo Hyuk knew that Sandy never liked him being in a gang, especially NBK that was one of the most powerful gangs in the city, everyone was afraid of them. Sniper and NBK were practically enemies, which led to countless fights. Woo Hyuk knew she always wanted him to dropout of NBK, but this race was too important to him. The leader of the first generation of NBK chose him to race so he must race. Victory was so close; he could almost taste it. Suddenly a dark figure flashed ahead of him in a traumatized instant. He stepped onto his brakes abruptly. He turned his vehicle so he hit the solid fencing instead but it was too late. The motorcycle screeched to a deafening stop. Woo Hyuk was unhurt. He jumped off his motorcycle to see the motionless body that lay ahead. The impact was horrific. His eyes widened and tears overflowed as the shocking moment was digested. "Sandy…" Woo Hyuk voice shook as he began to find it harder and harder to breathe every bit of air inhaled was suffocation. He suddenly realized that there were several sharp nails planted on the ground. He couldn’t miss it at that spot. Her body was bloody and weak; the nails had stabbed her when the collision took place. Woo Hyuk picked her up and walked out of the tracks wordlessly. He was so stunned; he wished everything were just a surreal illusion. He took each step steadily isolating the world from them. Her face grew pale white and her lips were icy blue with a hint of purple. He whispered something in her ears and she smiled delicately. She exhaled her last breath and a tear rolled down her cheeks as she closed her eyes. Woo Hyuk knew she was dead but deep inside he could feel her heart still beating. The wind blew a sad song in the air. The race was over. *End of Flashback* Woo Hyuk had watched the ambulance take the body away. He watch god take his very beloved away from his bare hands but he could do nothing about it. Woo Hyuk looked up, for a twinkling star had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He loosened his closed crimson bloody fists and collapsed to the ground on his knees. Droplets fell from above and the sky began to cry. END ****************************************** |
