» how do you make your dolls?

i make every doll in MSPaint, pixel by pixel. i edit every color by myself, and i use the line tool to draw outlines and shading. why don't you check out my pixel shading tutorial? you can get to it from the main page :)

» can you teach me how to make dolls?

if you'd like my help, feel free to send me an email here: koshisailorearth24@yahoo.com. i'll try my best to help you out. i can't promise you that i can make you an expert, because i'm really not that good. i will, however, try to answer you politely, and be as helpful as possible.

» how did you make ______?

» why do you have so many darn character dolls?

um... hehehe... i'm not exclusively a doll artist. dolls are only a hobby. i'm more of a sprite person. my dolls started at my sprite adoption page, dream, which is mostly an anime adoptions page. most of my dolls are character dolls because they were originally on an anime-themed page.

» do you do requests?

before you ask, please check to see if my request status is open. if you want one, just email me here: koshisailorearth24@yahoo.com. please send me pictures of the character, or a detailed description of what you'd like me to do. just remember, i hold the right to refuse a request, and that i can take as long as i want to do it.

» i really like the colors in your ______ doll. can i take them?

if you really like the colors, i'll gladly email them to you. please don't take them directly from my doll, though. check out the shair shading tutorial, i have colors for free there.

» would you like to be my sister?

usually i'll say yes. but if i see that your dolls are stolen works, or that you have committed some heinous crime within the doll community, i probably will say no. i have a hard time saying no to people, so if i don't get back to you, it's because i don't know whsat to say... i feel like crap turning people down, but a sister site is not just a way to get hits on your site. i spend hours on pixel art every day, and it's very special to me. i'm an artist, not a link whore. if i like your work, i'll ask you. if you ask me, i want it to be because you want to be sister sites, not just use me to get your site linked somewhere. a sister site, or brother site, is something really special.

» will you make me a layout?

maybe. email me with a picture, don't expect me to make it all up. i don't know what you want. i usually only do this for friends and sister sites.

» can i use yours?

please don't. i make all of my layouts for myself, and they are kind of special to me.

» will you make a doll-maker?

NO. i think that dollmakers encourage new dollers to be unoriginal and uncreative. it also says it's okay to take other peoples parts, like hair, clothes, and other props, and call them your own. i don't want that to happen anymore.

the only doll-makers i've ever used are emby quinn's dollz maker, and her av-o-matic. but i only play with them as kisekae dolls, i don't make dolls out of them.

» well, can i make a doll-maker using your base?

please don't. people will credit the base to the doll maker, not to me. that's how the original "dollz" base, though created as a goth thing, is now called the "prep" base. i strongly dislike doll-makers. sorry.

» why aren't your dolls really full of shades? why are they so simple?

my dolls aren't simple, and they have a lot of shades. the only thing is, i make all of my dolls by pixel, not with the dodge and burn method. i did make two dolls using dodge and burn. but i hate it. and i hate the whole process. it's too complicated, and i'm too lazy. i'd rather do pixels. i always liked impressionism, anyway.

» what's impressionism?

impressionism is a style of painting that started in the mid 19th century (around 1860) in france. the artist doesn't use long, smooth strokes, they take short strokes, and sometimes use dots instead of strokes. that's a special type called pointilism. degas, cassat, renoir, and monet are all impressionist painters. seurat and signac were both pointilist painters.

» what are those little dollies on your index page?

they are little dolls that i've made for each one of my sister sites. sister sites are special, so i made something special to represent each girl's site.
