Hello!!! Chapter four is UP! Along with chapter five ^^

~*~**~**~*~

It was true. It sure was.

There was no sleep for him that night.

He spent all of the night laying in his bed gazing up at the cracks in the ceiling, or pacing around. No matter what he did, he couldn't get his mind off of Yuna and his mission. He kept thinking of ways... ways to keep Yuna by his side while he was down there, -and- catch this Widel guy at the same time without getting in trouble.

But he thought of nothing.

He really didn't want to take the hard way out of all of the unknown choices he had. He only had a plan -A-, and that was too disobey The Farplane Maester and just take Yuna with him. He didn't care how hard it'd be to guard her, but he would make sure he did a good job of it, no matter what. He couldn't, and -wouldn't- let her down...

"Sir Tidus!" A strong voice rumbled through the air. Tidus quickly turned toward the royal boom and noticed it was The Farplane Maester. Tidus looked to the left and then to the right. He wasn't totally sure of what to do, so he just bowed down to him. "Greetings, uh... Maester!" Tidus stammered. The Farplane Maester chuckled at his speechlessness.

The Farplane Maester approached him, and began to speak seriously. "Now listen... I am serious about these requirements I am going to review with you..." The Farplane Maester began. Tidus nodded. "Requirement one... I control your powers, and you will only use them on Maester Widel. Requirement two... you are not to mention your name to anyone at all. Not even to those you trust most deeply. Requirement three... you are -not- to get caught up with Lady Yuna, at all. Avoid her at all costs. I am being very serious. You are sent to Spira on a mission, and if you really want to help her, just leave her be and return peace to Spira." The Farplane Maester explained.

Tidus didn't care what he said. He was going to see her no matter what anyone said. He was going to be with her as much as he could, and he was going to protect her. He loved her too much to just avoid her. These feelings of frustration about requirement number two wanted to be released, but Tidus kept cool. He couldn't go answering The Farplane Maester and ruin it all. So he simply nodded at everything The Farplane Maester had said.

"Now... I am going to open these gates to the outside world... would you like to say farewell to anyone in the Farplane?" The Farplane Maester asked. Hell yeah he wanted to say good-bye to some people!

Tidus slightly nodded. "Yeah... I would... like to say good-bye to my father and mother... and I would also like to speak with Lord Braska." Why he cared to say good-bye to his parents that ignored him all of his life? He didn't even know himself. It just felt right.

"Very well then... would you like me to summon them, or..." "I... would like you to summon them for me please." He was already too eager to get to Yuna. He didn't want to waste time walking all the way across the Farplane. The Farplane Maester sighed. "Very well then." He then lifted his arms in the air and closed his eyes.

By now Tidus was used to seeing this kind of stuff. All this magic and sorcery... it was all common in the Farplane. Tidus just watched as he summoned the people he wanted to speak to.

Soon, pyreflies surrounded The Farplane Maester. At first, Tidus saw his father's form in front of him. Then Braska's, and then his mother's.

Everyone was just staring at him. They all had puzzled expressions, and Tidus knew why. They wanted to know why Tidus wanted to see them, and why they were summoned from their homes, or wherever they were.

"Uh... hi..." Tidus scratched the back of his head. He didn't really know what to say.

"What is it now?!" His father asked, a bit annoyed. Tidus immediately felt hot. "Will you just pipe down a minute?!" He'd never said anything like that to his father... except for all of those times he had screamed "I hate you" to him. Jecht immediately grew quiet. Not really out of fear or respect... just... because. Probably because he liked to see his son being so assertive and less of a crybaby.

"Tidus?" His mother's soft voice echoed. All though she seemed so kind and gentle, deep down it's like she didn't even care for anyone except Jecht and herself. It was annoying, and Tidus gave her no look of approval for speaking. She decided not to go any further with her words. Maybe she -did- respect him... maybe even fear him, which he didn't want.

"Listen..." Tidus began, hanging his head low. "I just wanted to say good-bye." He said. "Good-bye? Where are you going?" His mother asked. He looked up. "I... I've got to stop Maester Widel from totally destroying Spira... before... before it's too late..." He explained. His mother already had the fake worried face. He slightly rolled his eyes and responded, "I'll be fine, Ma, don't you worry." He sort of chuckled. She just sighed.

"I'm going to do this." He began again, pulling down on the air as he usually did. It was just kind of an instinct reaction in a conversation. It was something he couldn't help; a habit. "Somebody's gotta save Spira, and I'm more than willing to do it." He explained. "After all, I got friends down there, you know?" He explained. Jecht smirked.

There was a moment's silence with the tiny group.

"Congratulations, Sir Tidus." Lord Braska came up and shook his hand. Tidus wasn't sure how to react so he just stood there and waited for someone to say something. "I wish you good luck and fortune on your journey." He said. Tidus nodded with a smile. "You know, honey, if you can wait just a-" "I'm sorry, but he must go today, ma'am." The Farplane Maester butted in.

Tidus looked at his mother. He felt kind of bad for her. The way she -acted- like she cared but really didn't. Yeah... he could notice that modeled face anywhere.

He wanted to hug her... maybe even kiss her. But he held himself back. He would be made fun of by his old man for one... and secondly, he just, deep down, didn't want anything to do with her... at least not right now. His main concern was Yuna, not her...

"Uh... Lord Braska... I-if I happen to run into Yuna..." "But you will not..." The Farplane Maester interrupted Tidus. Tidus gave a slight lying nod to him. "Right... but... anyway... Hypothetically speaking... if I did run into her..." Tidus didn't even know where -he- was going with this... well he did... but he didn't know how to word it.

"What I mean is... I love your daughter. More than anything. And... I guess... I just wanted you to know that... and if there was ever a time where she needed me... I'd be there." He slightly chuckled and scratched the back of his head. He looked to the ground and waited for a response.

There was a bit of hesitation before Braska actually replied. "I already knew that..." He said. Tidus looked at him, surprised. How did he know? "I've watched over Yuna and her journey..." He smiled. Tidus slightly smiled back. "And I will continue to watch over her." Lord Braska then leaned in and whispered, "Maybe I'll see what I can do to keep you with her?" Tidus's eyes widened, but Braska signaled him to keep quiet. Tidus nodded, and smiled.

He wondered how he was going to possibly convince The Farplane Maester to let Tidus stay in Spira with Yuna. But he didn't really care, he guessed. As long as Braska attempted their love. What wasn't there to be thankful for?

"Well..." The Farplane Maester began. "I believe you should get going now... agreed?" He asked. Tidus turned to him, and nodded. "Of course." He replied. "Send me back, I need a foot massage!" Jecht bellowed. Tidus rolled his eyes in disgust of how immature he was acting. The Farplane Maester chuckled, and put his hands in the air.

One by one the pyreflies consumed Lord Braska's, Jecht's, and his mother's non-existent bodies. Tidus sighed. He was nervous.

Just then the wide golden gates of the Farplane creaked open. They'd never been opened in two years to let someone out... only to let people in. Tidus took a deep breath, and swallowed hard. He was nervous all right, but excited at the same time. It was a strange feeling... a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time.

Tidus looked at The Farplane Maester, and he nodded. "Just walk through the opened gates. Simple as that." The Farplane Maester smiled a gentle smile. Tidus didn't smile back. He remained soldier-like and took high steps toward the gate, not dragging one foot on the clouds. Tidus gulped, and ran into the gate, not sure of what was going to happen.
