a dream in one act

Now You're Cool

slip into your beige
cargo pants the baggy ones
the ones that cost well over
fifty dollars

put on the dark grey
long sleeve t shirt with
the zipperpocket on the
right arm that isnt
big enough to hold
anything

over that slide into the
normal white t shirt that
costs forty because of the
logo that is only on the tag

and over this flashy getup
resides the down vest with
a zipper that you never use and
the logo on the left breast that
you paid all the money for

spend twenty minutes gelling
brushing combing you hair
then over your spiked dyed
hair place the ballcap that cost
you an entire paycheck
the cap with the pretorn brim

slide your socked feet into
the new shoes that cost
two hundred a piece
the leather ones that you
saw a guy on the street wearing

lick your lips
which rest below the colorless
prepubescent fuzzstache

smile at yourself in the mirror
but dont focus on your
rampant acne because

now youre cool
