Dream A Little Dream ...
01/06/02 -A funny thing happened on the way to the ... well, that’s just a line. I’ve been
pondering humor, or the lack of it lately. For some reason or other, I noticed that I hadn’t been laughing much, let alone feeling a smile. Yikes, that’s a bigey for me seeing as it doesn’t take much to make me laugh and if there’s anything I’m complemented on consistantly, it’s my smile. But I actually noticed it, my face felt funny. That could be it, I pondered. The people I had been in contact with lately lacked humor, some were depressed, some were angry. One person and I chatted for less than five minutes and I almost became the “B” word I was getting so frustrated. Talk about incompatability ... It was more than obvious. Why so serious? I guess these people didn’t feel being depressed or angry was sick or they would have remembered that laughter is the best medicine. Fortunately I figured out the problem and was ready for the cure. So, I went out for some music (another item I find to be medicine) and got a bonus, music plus humor. Our performer was very witty. It didn’t take much of either to getting me back on the road to total health. See, it’s true, you don’t know what you’re missing until it’s gone. The next opportunity I had to chat with someone the lovely pill healed me again. Thank goodness, I sure didn’t want to have to give up on people. The conversation was effortless, and very pleasing. Humor doesn’t always have to be spoken, however. Walking into someone’s
home and finding it to be a palace full of crystal and cherubs was, I’m sure, not intended to be humerous by the designer. Nonetheless, it was totally humerous to me. Take that in a nice way, please. Me being a seeker of smiles these days. I don’t know this person well enough to say “What were you thinking?” I probably never will.

So, I think I’ve conquered another delima, I sure wouldn’t joke about that. LOL.
And now I know when my face gets to hurting, I can look back through my journal
and say, “OMG, I am the silliest person I know” ... And that makes me smile.
