04/21/01 - Let The Sunshine, Let The Sunshine In ... For some reason the above piece caught my eye and I had to have it. I was at a crafts fair after all ... And I have this thing about mementos. It was a great day, an enjoyable outing. It was raining outside, but full of sun and merriment inside. The crafts were on the most part outstanding and covered a wide variety. The boss is adept at craft fairing. She had a method ... Work the sides, up one side and down the other. Ocassionally I would venture to the right only to be pulled back on course. The middle isle was saved for last. You must make any contemplated purchase on the spot, there will be no time to go back. I was there for the experience, her methods were fine with me. I was amazed at the professionalism of it all ... The booths were quite glitzy. In my day the rule was the funkier the better. We used those little white sticky labels for price tags. Most of the artisans I saw had artsy little tags or full color brochures to go along with their hand made wares. But the artists themselves seemed the same, they reminded me a lot of people I once knew. As we left I purchased a big bag of something called "Kettle" corn to bring home to the Child.

The sun is out today though there is still a hint of rain in the air and a few dark clouds in the distance. The urge to declutter is still with me. I am getting bogged down in the sorting. It's tedious work. But that's a good thing, as I have this feeling that I'm going to get fed up with it all and just start purging like crazy. As each little pile dimenishes I have found that I've gotten a small sense of accomplishment ... It's energizing.
