Dream A Little Dream ...

10/02/01 - You just never know what might happen in the grocery store. I noticed the guy in front of me in the check out line. He appeared to be a little older than me. Not bad looking, nice hair. Then he spoke to me, I guess you can say that. He made some sort of comment about my groceries, that I was into quick and dirty. Quick and dirty? It went downhill from there. He seemed to think I needed to hear his latest dirty joke. I had retreated to the back of my shopping cart by that time. I never heard his joke. I watched him intereact with the grocery checker. She was trying to be polite. When it was my turn, the first thing she asked was if I knew that man. No, not hardly. She then said he had to be the most disgusting man she had ever met. I was a bit surprised. I thought maybe there were a lot of those "out there." No, she said he was a first to her. I was glad to hear that. She insisted I have a bag boy escort me out to my car.

I bought steaks for dinner. I tend to short change the boys on my bowling night, so I was trying to make ammends. By the way, the bowling went great this week. No, I'm not making a lot of progress, but I am enjoying it. I'm getting to know quite a few of the players. Most are nice, some extremely nice. There's a lot of joking and bantering. I get kidded a lot. I don't mind. Nothing bothers me, not even gutter balls, after I order my Margarita. Gee ... just though of that, maybe that's why I'm getting those gutter balls. Anyway,  I really enjoy two of my team members, Maria and Juan, they are boyfriend and girlfriend. I think they are in their early 40's. Maria's daughter, Anna, usually comes along to watch us bowl. I've been invited to Anna's birthday part this Saturday. Maria is going to have a big Mexican barbeque. Funny, when putting my schedule together for this week I noticed I didn't have a thing planned for this coming weekend. So there you go. I'm looking forward to the barbeque.

I'm getting a little selective with my weekend activities now anyway. I won't be going dancing any more. Last time I went I didn't enjoy it that much. I guess I've had my fill. I'm more into checking the local event calendar and seeing if there's something that catches my interest there. And then there are the surprises ... Yep, got to leave room for the surprises.
