10/08/01 - Baby it's cold outside ... The last couple of days have felt like, well, fall. There's that nip in the air. I don't like the cold, I'm not big on fall. However, I have had a craving for apples lately and I've gotten my big fluffy sweater ready. The cooler weather has made me want to cook. My boys are thankful for that. I made a lasagna and garlic bread last night. Tonight I'm planning Jambalaya. Perhaps I will even bake some bread. "It's a good thing." You can't have too much of a good thing, however. We are in Indian Summer here and a few hot days will still sneak in, allowing me to sneak in some quick and easys a while longer. Graveyard shift was on the quiet side last night. That's pretty unusual for a Sunday/Monday. I brought a pile of mail from home with me and got through about half of it. I worked on my schedule for this week and noticed that I'm going to be busy, busier than I'd like to be. I'm only on my second week of working five days in a row and I'm a little scared of having too many extra-curriculars. I will be so tired by the end of the week. I'm already looking forward to the weekend. But, It's only Monday ... and Mondays are rushed for me. I managed to get a full seven hours of sleep again today. I will be "perky" for bowling tonight. Hopefully I'll have a decent graveyard shift. I still have the other half of the mail to go through. Mmmm, the bread is baking and smells so good. The boys will be impressed with me. Ut Oh, if I continue pleasing them ... They will never leave. |
