Dream A Little Dream ...

11/26/01 - Wow!!! Oh, I get it ... someone's going to be hitting me up for money. When I woke up today the kitchen and dining area were totally clean! Clean enough that I noticed anyway. I appreciate the effort whether I have to pay for it or not. And then I realized that I could skip my cleaning today and have some "free time." I sat out on the front porch a few minutes. It was mid afternoon and the sun was out. I was hoping a few rays would do me good. They did. Then I decided to spend some time online visiting some of my favorite journal sites. I don't always get a chance to do this and keep up with my own site at the same time. Frankly, I haven't been having a chance to get on the computer much at all lately. But, considering the fact that I can only last outside in the cold a few moments now, I'll be honing my indoor skills more.

It was a "journal day" that brought a chuckle. I only visited three sites, three sites that gave me exactly what I was looking for ... real life mixed with a bit of humor. I was touched and felt the need to comment/respond/thank the writers by e-mail. There is a community of online journalers. We banter sometimes, but mostly we appreciate silently. One site I visited today had me take a strange but interesting side trip. You can visit Rob's site at
www.darn-tootin.com. If you do that today you can wish him a Happy Birthday! But what I found interesting was a link he gave to Find A Grave.com. Rob was searching for dead composers. I'd like to search for dead authors. I'll add this to the list of rainy day activities.

This is my "rush" day as I have bowling tonight. I'm glad I got that little bit of extra time in to fool around. As for the bowling, I'm having a blast. I was talking to someone the other night who said bowling was all about form, like tennis. I think there's something to that. I've been working on my form and I'm seeing some progress. Top score so far: 119. Don't laugh, remember I've only been doing this a few months. This coming weekend I will be going to Reno with my bowling league. This trip is one of the reasons I joined in the first place. I've been wanting to go for a while, but I don't have a reliable enough car to make the trip. We're going up this weekend by bus. I know a lot of people from bowling now. I can't think of anything better than doing Reno alone, with a bunch of people. I haven't had much gambling luck the last few times I've gone, and I've only gone a few times. Lol. The last time I hit a casino was June of 2000. Mr. P drove me from New Orleans to Biloxi, Mississippi in his white Cadi to enjoy a day at the casinos on the Gulf of Mexico. I enjoyed the Cadi and the Gulf. We had a great buffet lunch at one of the casinos. But, I don't think my luck impressed Mr. P much. He plugged a $20 bill in a machine and let me go at it. I think it took 5 minutes to use that up and nothing to show in return. He plugged another $20 in and ... kching! But not for long. Good thing I had gone in not expecting much. Good thing I didn't mind when Mr. P suggested we take a walk on the beach. Anyway, I got a letter from my Dad today and he included two $20 bills for my gambling pleasure. Maybe this time will be my time. I think I might have a chance to make this $40 count. You never know what a little positive thinking can do.
