Here is my analysis: Goalkeeper: OK Defender: What?! Carlos Alberto..... Hummmmmm, he is a attacking wing-back, lack of defending skills and D.Santos is more preferable. Midfielders: No defensive half. Unbelievable!!!The defensive half is the spirit of the team and it means no body to defense in midfield and it will increase the workload of defense.Although Di Stefano could defense, it's not his major task. Forward: Pele is good but if he is assisted by an air expert, it's perferable. |

Based on my analysis, I just give a passing grade for "team of the century"!! In addition, there is no players in the first half of the 20th century. Why?? I believe there are a lot of good players...Meazza, Matthews, Sindelar, Scarone, Mederith....Hummm I believe these players are absoultely UNDERRATED!! Except Meazza and Matthews, you can find few information of these players in English. Yeah, You amy find it in another langauge: Italian, POrtuguese, Spanish.... On the other hand, you may find find some players site. They do not mention tooo many defenders.Obviously, defenders are underrated. Let say 20 players of legendary players have just only maximum 2 or 3 defenders. Why?? This is so unfair to those defenders. I do not believe defenders is easier than to be a forward. Right now, defenders is so specialised and they are not easy get defeated. Defenders are faster and tougher than before..

All of these players were elected by sophisciated sportings journalists. They should know their perfromance in their continent. I believe many soccer fans did not know who is Figueroa and I believe he is underrated also. He did not show up in any European club. However, he is 3 times South American players of the years from (1974-76?). There are few players could accompplish like this, such as Zico. What I believe is in where and when, there should be good or excellent players throughout in the 20th century from the 1st World Cup to the Y2K. Also, it should be fairly distributed from defenders to forwards, not just mention those a few defenders of a large number of attacking players.In 30's it should have a one or two good forwards and it should have a one or two good defenders also. So, it will not be overrated and underrated!!! So, that's why I create a webpage for myself and for a hard-core soccer fans.
