Paradox

We wound to make ourselves whole,
cut deep to bind our selves together
when we embrace madness we become sane
and pain brings fearful joy.

Strange energies move us onward,
strange fears compel obedience
our strange reality sets us apart--
we are outsiders all.

Shame and fear surround us
cries of madness wound our flesh
but together we are separate strong--
together we ride on the storms.
