Thanatos

I am the grave and I am death,
I am the antithesis of all that is good,
I live in all things that draw breath,
I live and I breathe within you.

I am hate and I am pain,
A coiled snake in your heart,
Defeat me: I'll just rise again--
I am your eternal master.

I am blood and I am the blade,
I pierce your skin in a frenzy,
I ensure your sins are paid,
In your own flesh and blood.

I am the lode-star of your life,
I haunt all your moments,
My avatar is your beloved knife,
My intentions wound you.

I am all that you have been,
I am all that you now are,
I have seen all you have seen,
I am your unclaimed self.

Objectify me, personify me--
Call me Thanatos all you wish,
You can never escape me--
I am you.
