234. Thomas Dixon

Thomas Dixon was born in 1780 and was deported for forgery for 10 years. He was a printer. He arrived in Hobart in 1812 before Port Arthur was built. He left his wife and daughter (Eleanor ) behind in England. Once he was pardoned his father in law brought his wife and the 12 year old Eleanor out to Australia. Thomas then had a second daughter Emma who was possibly the first white child born in Tasmania. Eleanor went on to marry Sir Robert Murray. Sir Robert was either deported or sent out to Australia by his parents for spying for Napoleon.
When pardoned/forgiven he returned to England to a Barony. Eleanor and Robert had 2 daughters and a son.
