Forgive Me, My Love

Part 4-6

By Linda

Max unlocked the eraser room door with the wave of his hand and led Liz inside. "Try to stay out of sight, I'll get Maria to run and get you something from home, and then I'll be right back." Max promised and gave her a quick kiss before leaving and relocking the door behind him.

Liz sighed and sat on the long bench. She was frustrated. She hated having to just sit here and wait while that Viper had her clothes and she was left helpless. Liz was going to get her good for messing with Max's mind, and for lying outright and viciously about having had sex with Max.
While Liz waited for Max to return, she devised many plans on how to get even with Tess.

When Liz heard the door unlocking, she held her breath hoping it was Max and not the janitor or someone else.

When Max slipped into the room and relocked the door Liz sighed.

Max turned around after locking the door again, and stood looking at Liz. She looked so cute yet vulnerable sitting in nothing but his shirt. Her small bare feet and long bare legs below his shirt caused his immediate erection. Knowing Liz was completely bare beneath his shirt made him clench his jaw to keep from moaning out loud.

But then Liz looked up at him with her big brown eyes all soft and vulnerable. Max watched her slide her gaze down his body, and widen as she took in his huge erection pressing against his jeans. He gave up trying to resist her. He came to kneel in front of her, and wrapping his arms around her waist, he groaned and opened his mouth over her sweet, trembling one.

Liz clung to Max and bit her lip to keep from crying out when Max's open mouth ran down her jaw and to her neck. She felt his hands flip open two of the buttons on his shirt that she wore, and then his hand slid in and covered her hardened nipple and massaged her breast the way she liked. Kneading it and playing with the nipple as they both loved.
Then Max couldn't wait anymore and he unbuttoned more buttons so he could taste Liz. His mouth captured the other nipple while his hand still played with the one it had.

Liz sighed and ran her hands thought his soft dark hair pulling him closer to her. When he sucked on her the way she loved, she felt it all the way to her core.

As if sensing her shifting need, Max kissed his way down her stomach and continued to unbutton his shirt as he kissed a path to her lower abdomen.

Max lifted his passion filled eyes and met her half closed dazed ones, and saw her smile her encouragement.

They hadn't gotten this far out in the desert that night. But had come pretty close. Now he couldn't stop. He moved her thighs farther apart, and she took deep breaths trying to breathe but feeling faint. She wanted him so badly. His mouth, his hands, his body… she was completely his and she didn't care what he did as long as he didn't stop touching her.

When Max's eyes took in the sight of Liz that he was dying for, he sucked in his breath and thought his head would explode, the burst of passion that filled his head and made the blood roar in his ears was unreal.

Liz was so sweet, and pink and moist and ready for him. With his head already swimming, he gently put her legs up on either side of his shoulders and took his first taste of Liz as he had been dying to do.

At the first touch of Max's tongue on the tip of her swollen bud, Liz cried out, bit her lip again and arched up into him. She was completely lost to the unbelievable feelings Max was creating as he slowly started tasted all of her by running his tongue through her folds. He couldn't get enough of her taste. He was instantly addicted and want only more. When he gently captured the little bud at the top, in between his teeth, and ran his tongue around it, Liz arched into him even more and with a fist in her mouth, she exploded, her eyes shocked from the feelings Max had pulled from her.

When he heard Liz sobbing, he eased her legs down and took her into his arms, his lips capturing her cries of passion and telling her of his love and adoration for her without words.

Liz felt the overwhelming feelings of love that were crashing through Max's soul into hers and she sobbed even more. It had been beyond perfect, beautiful! And they hadn't even fully made love yet!

With that thought, Liz pushed Max back and reached for his jeans. She fumbled with the button and zipper and Max's breath came in short bursts as he smiled at her anxiousness.

He let his hands run through her silky hair that he loved so much, as he let her have her way with him. He sucked in his breath when her small hand slipped inside the opening of his jeans and brushed up against his throbbing erection.

Max curled his hands around her face gently and brought her mouth up to his for a passionate kiss as Liz slowly slid her hand into his boxers, and freed his heat into her hands for her exploration.

The feel of Liz's hands on the part of Max that he had only fantasized about for years, almost made him lose it right then.

He put his hand over hers to still her movements for a second so he could try to catch his breath and calm down. But the feel of her gentle grip surrounding his flesh was too much, and he guided her hand up and down his flesh in the movement and rhythm he needed.

When he removed his hand Liz continued, sighing and watching with amazement as her hands felt what her eyes were watching. He was so smooth and soft, yet hard. She was fascinated and didn't try to hide her curiosity as she explored every inch of his hard flesh with her hot little hands.

She could tell from the small sounds Max made, what things in particular drove him crazy, and she smiled loving the intimacy of knowing what pleased him.

"You like that don't you. The control you have over me right now." Max ground out between his tight jaws, his eyes hooded, but a twinkle shown in them, as he watched Liz's fascination and enjoyment of her exploration.

"I like knowing that no one else has touched you like this but me." She admitted boldly, and met his eyes with bright ones filled with love.

"I've waited for you love, only you." He reaffirmed and kissed her again as her hands drove him crazy.

He knew he was ready to explode when suddenly there was a knock on the door. With a curse under his breath, Max pulled away from Liz and with clenched teeth; he turned away to try to calm down enough to zip his Jeans back up.

Liz, her eyes still wide with arousal, and dazed with passion, took a minute to realize what had made Max pull away. When there was a second knock, Liz realized she would have to answer it, and she pulled Max's shirt tight around her and went to the door.

"Maria?" she whispered to make sure.

"Yeah Liz it's me. Open the door." She heard Maria whisper back.

Liz unlocked the door, glanced behind her to see Max zipping his jeans, and smiling, she turned back around and opened the door enough for Maria to see her.

"Oh my God Liz! Are you okay? I'm going to kill that bitch!" Maria promised with anger.

"I'm fine…I …thanks Maria… I really appreciate your doing this." Liz smiled and taking the bag of clothes she hugged her best friend.

"Of course! Any time!" Maria said, and then caught sight of Max behind Liz, looking as disheveled as Liz looked.

Maria was shocked. Last she had known Max was all over Tess! "What…?"

"It's okay Maria. I figured out that with Tess' powers, she was controlling me before, which was the only reason I was attracted to her." Max smiled as he looked down at Liz gently and with love shining in his eyes.

"But this is the real thing. This spell I can't break, and don't want to." He said softly as he let his hand slide through Liz's hair, as he loved.

Maria saw the truth in Max's eyes and the love as well, and smiled, happy for her friend, and happy that Tess was not going to get the best of them. She couldn't wait to see what they had planned for Tess.

"So you are still meeting with her after school at Michael's?" Maria asked.

Max sighed and nodded. "But I'd like Liz, you and Alex there as well. We should all confront her together. After all, we are a team." Max smiled at Maria and then at Liz.

"The best." Liz agreed, meeting Max's gaze with her own glowing with warmth.

Maria realized she wasn't needed any more, and she excused herself.

"See you later Liz." She said and grinning, she closed the door behind her as she left.

"You better get dressed." Max finally was able to say, when he pulled his eyes from Liz's intoxicating ones.

"In a minute…there's something we left un…finished." Liz whispered and ran her hands across Max's back as he turned away from her.

She felt him stiffen, and she was afraid he was going to tell her it would have to wait. But when he turned back around, his eyes were dark and intense as he met hers.

"We…we should wait…this isn't the time or the place to…" Max tried to be reasonable.

Liz just smiled wider and let her hand glide down to where he was still hard and ready. She heard him gasp and moan right before he took her mouth in another deep kiss.

Liz wasted no time in pulling Max's jeans open again and taking him in hand. Then, before he knew what she had planned, she kneeled in front of him and he could only close his eyes and pray that no one else interrupted them. He seriously didn't think he would care if someone did interrupt.

Then he swore and could only run his hands through Liz's beautiful silky hair as she took him in her mouth for the first time. Max had only dreamed of what it would be like, and he never imagined it like this. He knew he wouldn't be able to hold out much longer, and with all the will power he had left he started to move Liz's head away, and step back.

But Liz knew what he was trying to do and she didn't want him to. She wanted all of him. He had had all of her. He had gotten to taste all of her and watch and taste her explode for him, and she wanted to do the same for Max. This was one of her fantasies too, and she wanted to make it a reality.

Max felt Liz's determination and need to do this, and he swore again, threw back his head and let go. He let himself shatter in the sweet gentle hands and mouth of the woman he loved.

Liz continued to kiss him and lick him even after he softened. She loved him so much, and was so overwhelmed that she had been able to give him so much pleasure.

Finally Max lifted her gently up and wrapped his arms around her. Their mouths met and their tongues tangled and all of their love was expressed in the afterglow kiss.

It was a still disheveled couple that left the eraser room a little while later. Liz was wearing her jeans that Maria had brought her from home, but she refused to part with Max's shirt, and he could only grin at how it made him feel to have her wearing it.

Hand in hand they walked back to her locker, the smiles of contentment on their glowing faces broadcasting what they had been up to, by anyone who cared to notice.

One person did notice. The hatred in her eyes as she stared at them from the doorway of an empty room across the way would have frightened both Max and Liz had they seen it.

No! This can't be. Nasedo had told her that she and Max were meant to be together. They were each other's destiny! She would just have to get rid of Liz Parker permanently. Nasedo had told her to do what was necessary. So she continued to stare at Liz Parker as Max Evans looked down at her with worship, and Tess began to plan her death.

"So. Did they buy your story?" Nasedo asked of the girl called Tess as she moved around the house getting a glass of milk.

"Of course." She smiled confidently, the smile never reaching her eyes. She turned back to the one she was supposed to pretend was her father. "I meet with them this afternoon at Michael's house."

Nasedo looked at the girl. Did she feel that confident? She had lost her control over Max Evans, the Resistant Fighter's last hope, and she thought she still had them beat? He cursed silently. Nasedo's own leader completely believed that his daughter was the one to go after and infiltrate Max Evans and his warriors. Their leader was being swayed by his belief in the prophecy. For the prophecy stated that one day, a woman with seductive powers would try to seduce the leader of their enemy. And if she succeeded, then that woman and the fallen enemy leader would rule the entire planet together, crushing the resistance completely, and taking over the new ruling planet earth and destroying all human life. The leader's daughter was known for her powers of seduction in their world, and the leader believed that his daughter could make that prophecy come true. But Nasedo knew that this Resistance leader was strong. And might not be persuaded. That they had to use more that just the powers of seduction on this one if they wanted to win.

Tess did not see this. She thought too much of herself, and had never before failed on a case of seduction in her life. She believed Max Evans was just stronger and that made him all the more worthy an opponent, and future leader. She believed that she would win in the end. She believed that is she just got rid of the earth girl permanently, that Max Evans would be hers.

Nasedo was not so sure of this one. He did not know if she had the intelligence and strength to fight so worthy an opponent as the hope of the Resistance fighters. She was too cocky and arrogant and emotionally involved. Not only did the one called Tess want to be leader of their world with every fiber of her being, but also she had taken one look at her prey, and had fallen in lust with him. She was determined to get all that she wanted, and she was making irrational decisions and letting her emotions control her instead of using the powers of logical, rational thinking that a real warrior would use.

Nasedo shook his head. He was here to protect the leader's daughter, and protect her he would. And if he had to help her kill all the earthlings to do that, and to keep his people in power, then he would do it. He was actually looking forward to destroying the humans once and for all.

Nasedo also knew that the young leader had no idea what his destiny was. The young man didn't even know he was the prophecy and hope of his own people, the Resistance Fighters. That when he had been born, the soothsayer had told his parents that he was the one who would someday destroy their evil enemy. The Resistance fighters believed that the leader of their planet was wrong in going from planet to planet and killing off it's life forms and taking over. That one-day, a true warrior and leader would come along and free them from Tierney and the destruction done by the leader of their planet. The prophecy also said that the young leader, if the right one, would fall in love with an earth girl, and the two together would win against the seducer sent to be his downfall, and that this leader would save both planets. So the boy's parents had sent him to earth with two of his family all born to be warriors, and a crew to help train and educate the children for their future, and see if they could help fulfill that prophecy.

Only they had lost contact with the ship that had headed toward earth, and the government had found the fallen ship. Thus, all the crew were killed or taken, experimented on by the government, and then killed. But no pods were found, and so they all felt that there was still hope. That one of the crew had gotten the children's pods to safety before capture. And for many decades earth time, both sides of the war were looking for these children of hope for the Resistance. One group to help them fulfill the destiny of the Resistance, and the other to help destroy the Resistance. But both sides had one goal in mind. Getting to Max Evans and his warriors.

******************************

Michael paced his apartment as they all waited for Tess. The tension in the room was sharp and fear was not far behind. They didn't know what Tess was here to tell them. Only that they were finally going to get some answers about their past.

Max looked down at Liz and took her hand in his. Letting her know that everything would be okay. That he would not let anything bad happen to any of them. He saw Alex with his arm around Isabel, and was surprised to see Isabel not even trying to fight her feelings. Instead, she was leaning back against Alex where he leaned against the counter.

Maria sat on the stool at the counter with her knees to her chest, hugging them, while her eyes worriedly followed Michael's agitated movements around the room.

The knock at the door made them all stiffen and catch their breaths as they looked at each other and then toward the door.

Michael was already moving, so he strode to the door, looked back at the group, saw Max nod, and then he opened the door to greet Tess.

Michael moved aside to let Tess enter, and they all just stared at Tess Harding. None of them trusted her after what she had done the last few days, but they agreed that if she had any information about them, that they had to listen. She might be their only link to Nasedo and their past.

Tess smiled playing her part. "I know you guys are afraid. And don't trust me after what I've done. But you have to understand that it's all in this book." She said and held up a strange shiny slate looking book.

Michael moved over to her and nodded his head at the book. "What is? The reason you tried to seduce Max, hurt Liz and give away our secrets in public?" He asked harshly.

"Yes, actually." She said calmly and then smiled at everyone, and focused on Liz. "I'm sorry I tried to hurt you Liz. I didn't know if I could trust you or not. I didn't know if you were a spy or not. It's hard to trust the humans after what they did to our people in the '47 crash." Tess said in a gentle, almost sad voice.

Max's eyes narrowed. He felt a warning of danger crawl up his back at that voice, but held his thoughts and let her talk. "What does the book say? And why would Liz or anyone be a spy?" Max asked.

Tess brushed her hair back from her face and put the book down on the table and opened it. "It says that we were sent down here to fulfill a prophecy and the hopes and dreams of our people far away." Tess stated passionately. Making her plea sound desperate.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Michael said in a frustrated and raised voice. It all sounded too weird to him.

"Michael. Let her finish, please." Isabel pleaded, staring at the book and the girl. Could this be true? Their being here had to have a purpose didn't it?

"Go on." Max said quietly.

Michael backed off; sighing, and he whipped his hand through his hair and looked back down at the book. He had to admit, the signs in the book matched the cave signs.

Tess could see their interest was peaked and she continued. She didn't care that the stupid humans were there. Let them. They weren't going to last very much longer any ways. Let these three warriors believe that Tess was trustworthy and not after their friends. She had neglected to take into consideration the three's feelings for the earthlings that they had grown up among.

"This was in the cave. I found it when I came out of my pod. You three were already long gone."

"How do you know what it says?" Michael questioned, still weary of strangers, even alien ones.

"I didn't. Not for sure. Nasedo found me and taught me the language, but it was the images that made me realize what our destiny was." She said and pulled her trump card out. The pressed on the book and the images that she and Nasedo had created appeared before them.

They couldn't help but crowd forward, all in awe of the book and the images taking shape like a movie.

A man with still dark hair and intense eyes looked back at them. "My children. When you are shown this by the crew sent with your pods to help educate you and teach you what you are there for, you will understand it all, and how important you are to our people."

Tess looked around with a small smile on her face as she saw how captivated and drawn the three aliens were to the words of her father. He had been right. They would be dying to believe in a home and family waiting for them. Even if it wasn't really their own.

Liz glanced over at Tess and saw the small smile. She did not trust this girl. No matter what she told them. Something didn't feel right. She knew that the way Tess had treated her so far didn't help, but she knew it went beyond her feelings of what Tess had done to Max and herself. She couldn't explain it, but some kind of alarm was going off inside her head. Telling her that they were all in trouble. But she said nothing. This was not the time. Later would be enough time to try to convince the others what she was feeling.

Tess glanced her way, caught her eye, and then smiled at Liz. But this only made Liz shiver when she noticed how cold and hard the eyes that met her stayed.

Liz gave a small smile and glanced down again, not wanting to let Tess see her suspicions. But she didn't think she fooled Tess any more than Tess fooled her.

The voice of their 'father' continued. "We have sent you four down there to help us rid our planet and the earth of evil resistant fighters trying to destroy us all. They will stop at nothing to kill you off for you are our prophecy and our hope."

Max saw himself as a four year old, standing beside the man who claimed to be their father. "You son, are the one. The one who can free us from the resistance fighters who are trying to destroy our planet and any planet they invade. It is said that you will come back one day, with your two warriors beside you, and your future wife, and free us. First fighting on earth against the Resistance fighters already there. And then back here to us, your mother and I, to fulfill your destiny."

They all gasped as they saw the four small children. The three aliens recognized themselves and Michael and Isabel realized they were not only siblings to Max, but also supposedly his warriors. And then they all looked at the little golden girl with curls and then up to Tess who smiled sweetly now. Max's future bride?

Max felt Liz gasp and stiffen next to him, and he reached for her hand and held it tight. She knew he was warning her not to give any of her thoughts or feelings away.

The others were all just staring at Tess. Tess slowly moved toward Max, and Max squeezed Liz's hand once more tightly, then released it and met Tess' intense eyes.

Tess was within an inch of him, and he had to look down to meet her eyes. He stayed still and expressionless, waiting for her to make her next move.

Tess raised a hand to Max's strong hard jaw and caressed it. "Max. That is why I was so jealous of Liz. You and I are betrothed and meant to be." She whispered softly, looking intently into his eyes with all her powers of seduction.

Max felt the pull and stiffened against it. He stepped back and Tess' hand dropped to her side. "It's a lot to think about, Tess." Max said quietly, his face still giving nothing away.

Tess looked to the other two and saw their confusion as well. She had planted the seed, and now it was time to let it grow. At least they had listened and seemed open, if a little apprehensive and afraid of the idea.

"I understand." She smiled softly up at him. Then she looked at the other two aliens. "I don't think we could ask for two better warriors for our people than you two." She added with a gleam in her eyes. She wanted to get on their good side as well.

Isabel opened her mouth but closed it again. She didn't know what to say, and since Michael and Max had said nothing, and had not let her see what they were thinking, she too held her silence.

"I'm sorry Liz." Tess finally turned to the earth girl. Here was what might help win the three over. If she pretended to feel the earth girl's pain. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just saw you with my future husband, and wondered if you were a spy. Nasedo said that our enemies had spies within the human race as well as our own. And it would make sense that with you trying to get so close to him…well, you understand. I'm sorry to have to break this to you this way. But Max, Michael and Isabel have a much more important destiny than as high school kids here on earth." She said and then looked at the other two humans as well. Letting this sink in to all of them. She picked up the book and hugged it to her.

Liz swallowed, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. What if it was true? It made sense in some ways. That maybe Max, Michael and Isabel were sent here for a reason. But she just couldn't believe Tess' part in all of it. Something wasn't right about her, and Liz couldn't shake it. And it wasn't just because she claimed to be Max's future bride.

"I know this is a lot to think about. You know where I live when you are ready to talk, and to hear more. But don't waste too much time. I think we have already lost many years of training and learning and our enemy is all around us. If they figure out who and where we are, then they will try to destroy us. For they too know the prophecy, the legend that you would one day free us all, Max." Tess stressed one last time, and then walked to the door.

"Don't wait too long." She said softly and closed the door behind her.

The room was silent after Tess left.

Michael started to speak but Max lifted a hand to silence him, and then strode across the room to watch Tess get in her car and drive away. He sighed and turned back around to the solemn, confused group.

"Do you believe all that?" Michael asked with a perplexed look, and raked another hand through his hair.

Max walked back over to the book Tess had left for them, but didn't touch it. He didn't think that book would tell them anything more than Tess wanted them to know.

"I feel some of it may be true." Max stated softly, and when he saw Liz stiffen, he walked closer to her and took her hand and met her eyes. "But not about Tess being my future bride since birth."

"You…how do you know? Max how do we know if any of it's true or if all of it's true?" Isabel asked eyeing the book on the table, almost afraid of it.

"You feel it Is. I know you do. You feel that some of it makes sense. Deep down it seems right." Max said in a low voice, meeting Isabel's eyes and then Michael's. Neither one denied it.
"Then how do you know that it's not all true?" Michael asked, starting to believe it. He was a warrior? He shook his head trying to absorb it all.

The three humans hadn't said anything. They didn't know what to think. This was about the three aliens and their destiny. Maria, Alex and Liz exchanged frightened looks but waited for the trio to decide what they believed.

"It can't all be true." Max said seriously, staring at the book for a minute, and then turning back to Liz, he met and held her eyes. He still had her hand.

"But how can you be sure!" Michael sighed in frustration.

"Because Michael," Max said in his low voice and lifted his free hand to gently caress Liz's cheek and jaw. He saw Liz's eyes soften, heard her intake of breath, and then her lashes lower, as passion drew her closer toward him. It was the same reaction they both felt every time they touched.

"I would not feel this way about Liz if what that book said was true. Tess can't be my future. It feels wrong. The moment I saw Liz I KNEW she was my destiny. Even though I fought it for so long. When I see Tess, I feel nothing." He stated.

"Didn't seem like that the other day Max." Michael couldn't help but throw out at him.

Max turned toward Michael and dropped the hand caressing Liz's face. "We both know that wasn't real Michael. She used mind control to accomplish that. What I feel for Liz is real. I don't need mind control to make me feel what I feel for Liz." He said in a soft but angry voice.

Michael nodded, knowing that was true. He just didn't know what to believe. "But what is true? Everything but that Tess is your intended? And if that's true, what is her purpose in all of this then? Why would she lie? What does she have to gain?" Michael threw up his hands in frustration knowing none of them knew the answers. He paced again.

"Max, Michael." The heard Isabel gasp.

They all turned to see Isabel with the book open in her hands. Isabel shook her head and dropped the book back on the table.

Michael quickly picked it up and skimmed the pages Isabel had open. "What the hell!" he swore and the hair on the back of his own neck started to stand up.

Max leaned over Michael's shoulders and Michael handed him the book and shook his own head and paced again.

"None of that can be real! It's all crap." Michael said trying to convince himself as much as the others.
"Max?" Liz whispered, watching Max look at the pages with a dark frown.

Max finally lifted his head, looked at both Isabel and Michael who were both out right disgusted and appalled, and then turned to the three humans as well. This involved them all.

"It shows the four of us. Michael, Isabel, Tess and myself." Max began, and then looked at the book again and back to the group.

"We knew that." Maria finally said. Her fear only growing. She felt something was very wrong as well. "Now tell us what we don't know."

"These pictures go on to show us our future supposedly. It looks like Isabel and I are sister and brother, but we're not related to Michael or Tess." He said looking over the pages with his own frown, and disbelief. "It shows how Tess and I are supposed to …get together and create a new life." He paused and didn't meet Liz's eyes when he heard her suck in her breath in shock. He wouldn't be able to finish if he looked into her eyes. "And…it shows Michael and Isabel…in the same way. With each other." Max finished, then put the book down and watched Maria pick it up in shock.

"But how is that possible?" Alex finally voiced, just as shocked. He watched Isabel with a fist to her mouth and a shocked, disbelieving look in her eyes.

"It's not possible! None of it! Max is right! I would…we would feel something… would have felt something all these years other than brother sister feelings if this was true! The way Max would know if it was true with Tess. This is all bull, Max!" Michael swore and then went over to Maria finally, and took the book out of her stiff hands and tossed it back on the counter. Then he took her cold form into his arms. This felt right he thought. And he closed his eyes and kissed the top of her head.

"Michael's right. I wouldn't see him like a brother if this was true…" Isabel kept shaking her head, and reached for Alex's hand.

Alex saw her fear and confusion, and took her into his arms.

Max turned back to Liz and took her in his arms as well.

None of them said anything for a few minutes. All just holding onto the one they needed the most.

Then Max walked over to the book, closed it and stared down at it in thought.

"So what do we do now Max. Obviously it's all a set up somehow. It's all a load of crap!" Michael stated waving a hand at the book.

"Not all of it I think." Max said quietly.
"What do you mean?" Isabel asked looking scared again.

Max looked up from the book to meet Isabel's eyes, then all of their eyes. "I mean. I can FEEL some of it is true. I think we are here to help our people. That we are warriors or some kind of hope, but not the rest." He shook his head.

"Then what do we do?" Isabel asked, raking a hand through her own hair.

"We play along with Tess and try to figure out what is really going on." Max finally said.

"What!?" Maria said, and Michael came back to her and hugged her again. He had a feeling he knew what Max was saying.

"We pretend to go along with Tess. That we talked about it and we believe she's right. We pretend to give up you three humans and spend time with Tess learning our destiny. We get Tess to trust us enough to meet with her and Nasedo and get closer to them. Then we will find out what is REALLY true and what's not. Something tells me the enemy part is true. They are out there. The only thing we need to figure out is who are they and which side are Tess and Nasedo really on?" Max said to them all.

Liz bit her lip. She knew he was right. But the thought of Max spending time with Tess, pretending to be in love with her, made her shiver in revulsion.

Max met her eyes, knowing her thoughts, and came back over to her. He took her in his arms and kissed the top of her head.

"The six of us will be working together though. We will make it look like you three are out of our lives so that you can go about the other spying for us."

"Do Michael and I have to pretend…?" Isabel couldn't help but ask as she swallowed in distaste.

"No." Max said. "That would actually be too suspicious. Considering we've always thought of each other as siblings, it would not seem right to them if we all of a sudden embraced these ideas completely. We will say we are slowly learning to deal with our destiny. Make it seem like we are willing to think about it, but we'll say we are not ready for relationships as they are destined to be as yet."

Liz sighed and Max smiled at her as she blushed. She knew it was silly to be glad Max wouldn't even have to pretend he was with Tess. After all, she did know she had Max's heart. But she couldn't help but NOT want to see Tess with his body either.

"What do you want us to do?" Alex asked, also relieved that he didn't have to watch Isabel and Michael pretend to be in love and be all over each other.

"Surveillance mainly. Alex, you're good with that kind of equipment, we will bug Tess' house and anywhere else we have to, anywhere we are taken for our training or whatever they have planned for us." Max continued.

"So Alex, Liz and I watch the three of you. How do we communicate with you if you are supposed to be pushing us away at school and in public?" Maria asked.

"We should have a place to meet." Michael said. Then pointed a finger at Max and got a gleam in his eyes. "The UFO Center!" We can all meet there after hours."

Max nodded. "That would work."

"When? Every night? Every other night?" Isabel asked still not liking the whole idea.

"We will try for every night. To make sure that the surveillance is still working, and that we are all okay. I still don't trust Tess with Liz. She still might try to hurt her." Max said in a tight voice.

Liz sucked in her breath. She hadn't considered that.

"But if you ignore Liz and let Tess think you are giving her a chance, why would she want to bother Liz anymore?" Maria asked with a frown.

"I don't trust her with any of you. I don't like the way she talks about the 'humans'." Max explained.

Alex nodded. "Yeah. I definitely got the creeps when she used that word like it was a disease, and the look in her eyes when she glanced at the three of us." Alex shivered.

"Then how are we going to leave them alone at all!? What if something happens to them!?" Michael asked with fear of his own. He wrapped Maria in his arms tighter, not even wanting to imagine what could happen to her.

"Because, I'm pretty sure during the days we will be training with Nasedo and Tess. So we will know where they are. And at night, we all meet. So we know you three are safe. And that nothing suspicious has happened. If you suspect anything you tell us. Let us know if any strange people come around or you notice any unusual behavior toward any of you three." Max looked at them and saw them nod.

Then he took a deep breath and let it out. "Okay then. That's the plan for now. Alex, do you think you can get a hold of some equipment?" Michael asked.

"Yeah. Yeah there's this guy at school who is into all that stuff. He's weird, but harmless. I could probably get some from him without letting him know why." Alex nodded liking the idea of being involved and able to help. Plus he liked the idea of being able to see that Isabel was okay.
"I worry about the three of you too." Liz voiced Alex's concerns. She looked at Michael and Isabel and then met Max's eyes. "If they are your enemy, you could be in danger as well." She swallowed.

"As long as we make them believe that we believe them we should be okay. They obviously need us or they wouldn't bother with all of this. If they were strictly our enemy, then they would have just killed us by now." Max said and held Liz tightly to him to reassure her. He didn't want her to see how much more worried he was for her.

"Where should they set up the surveillance equipment?" Isabel asked, leaning against Alex. He made her feel safe.

"I know of an old warehouse not far from Tess' place." Alex answered.

"Then it's settled. We go tell Tess that we've thought it over." Michael sighed.

"Tomorrow. Can we do it tomorrow? I want…I want one more night with Alex. Before we have to pretend…" Isabel didn't finish.

Max and Michael only nodded, wanting the same thing.

Max met Liz's eyes and hers were mixed with anxiety and yet the promise of tonight together. Max answered her eyes with hooded ones, letting her know how he felt as well.

After tonight outwardly, everything would change.
