David Henke

David Henke is the Vice President of Engineering/Operations of AltaVista Company. Henke is responsible for all product development, quality assurance, deployment, and customer support, plus production and internal operational infrastructure, including 7x24 site-serving, computer operations, network operations, data management, and help desk. Henke held a similar position with Zip2, a former division of AltaVista Company. Prior to joining AltaVista, Henke was Director of Engineering at Silicon Graphics (SGI), responsible for developing and shipping world-class Web authoring tools, software development environments/compilers/runtimes, and video streaming solutions. Prior to SGI, he cofounded two successful startup companies, which were acquired by Tektronix and Computer Associates respectively. Henke holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
