SHIP

When I, as a little child
Snuggled in mother's embrace
I felt her love
Showered upon me like
Fresh rain on the grass
Like dawn of a new day
Touching upon this sleepy world
One day, I set sail
Against the storms of this world
Warped by its currents
Tossed by the raging waves
After the journey
Baptised in the crucible of the vast sea
Crucified by the rain and waves
Longing for mother's touch yet again
Like safe harbor to my ship
But I turn back again
Only to look upon the fledgling ships
Nestled in my own harbor
