Mr. Stephen Lynn of Lexington, Kentucky is doing an outstanding job in contributing to the documentary history and genealogical research of Kentucky veterans who fought with the Confederacy. This is his second book on the subject, his first being Confederate Pensioners of Kentucky, printed in 2000. (See website homepage for details.)

The author compiled his roster of over 40,000 Kentucky Confederate veterans primarily from the Compiled Service Records for Confederate veterans which was collected and indexed by the U.S. War Deparment from 1903 to 1921. He has augmented the listing of names obtained from those records which several other documentary sources containing names not contained in the Compiled Service Records.
