Here my Dad is replaceing the catalytic converter. As you can see the old one was really rusted, and it rattled alot too. the new one is much smaller looking, but It does the job. The old converter was rusted in it's place, so dad had to hack-saw it off. I tried as hard as I could to get the bolts off. I got out the big breaker bar, and tried to force it off. Well I managed to strip my fingers of some vital layers of skin when my hands slipped off and banged into the under carriage of the car. OUCH! |

In this picture Dad is replacing the Fuel Pump relay. We thought that this was the problem when the new fuel pump didn't work when installed. The relay also controls the airconditioning. Well, I got a new fuel pump relay, which is nice, but it wasn't the problem. As you read on Page 2, it turned out to be a faulty fuel pump. It just about drove me nuts at that point of installation. We just assumed that the new fuel pump was fully functional. |

In between changing parts to get my car running, the neighbors got to see this site quite often. As you will see later on in my site, my car was absolutely caked with dirt and grime. Country roads will definately do that to you. Under the nose of the car, there is supposed to be a fiberglass curb catcher thingy that keeps water and other debris from flying up into your engine compartment. Well, my car doesn't have one, so my engine compartment is absolutely caked in dirt. Everything has a tint of tan. I have all the tools out to get behind the interior parts to clean and detail. The extention cords are for the shopvac. |

This is a picture from when we took my car to the mechanic to fix my car. Since we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start we almost had no choice but to give it to a professional with all the right tools and knowlege. This was the day we were going to pick it up. It was sitting outside ready to be picked up and it snowed that evening hard! So we opted not to drive it home, (no insurance or plates) it was too risky. So we just picked up the next day, by then the snow melted. That is weird Evansville weather for you! The bill was alittle steep, I am not even going to tell you that it was $500, you might faint. |

This is from when I replaced my steering wheel. I found an '82 Berlinetta steering wheel at the junk yard for 5 bucks. The leather wrapping around it was rotten/torn, so I purchaced a steering wheel cover wrap from Auto Zone. The Berlinetta wheel was rusty, and the componets on the wheel were too. I just scraped the rust off, and spray painted away...Good as new. Here's the old wheel, and the replacement. |
