Prime Numbers
A
prime number is a number that does not appear in the time's table. Therefore, it
does not divide by anything else apart from itself and 1. That is a good way of
thinking of them. The first 12 prime numbers are: 1. 2 2. 3 3. 5 4. 7 5. 11 6. 13 7. 17 8. 19 9. 23 10. 29 11. 31< 12. 37 To find a prime number divide it by 3
or 7 and if it comes out as a whole number then it is not a prime number Example
51 divided by 3 equals 17 so
therefore 51 is not a prime number 59 divided by 3 equals 19.67 now it
has come out not as a whole number, try it with another number, So 59 divided by
7 equals 8.43 so you can see that 59 is not a prime number (All answers given above are rounded
too 2 decimal places)
