The group, which arrived at about 2.30pm and left half-an-hour later, could not hand over their memorandum as the party headquarters was closed. They, however, managed to slip a copy of the memorandum, addressed to Keadilan deputy president Dr Chandra Muzaffar, under the door. PPNM president Stephen Doss said the memorandum called on Keadilan not to resort to demonstrations to bring down the Government. He said Keadilan must respect the right of the country's silent majority which, according to him, opposed demonstrations. Wawasan president Armizan Mohd Ali advised Keadilan to use the general election to come to power and not demonstrations. PGMM president Quek Ngee Meng said street demonstrations should be rejected because they resulted in increased social cost.--Bernama |
