On
a pleasant evening of March 2004, four persons from quite different fields of
life, gathered to establish a partnership for utilization livestock resources
as entrepreneur development. Mr.Saeedullah Jan a senior
administrator and a landowner, wished to conduct experimentations for value
addition of his lands. A senior chartered accountant Mr.Khalid Faizee, a senior chartered
accountant wished to utilize his financial experience and some money in a
profitable business. Mr.Azam Shah, a material engineer wished to
expand and replicate his sheep farming which had already been proved as a
support for meeting his schooling expenditures. Dr.M.Subhan Qureshi, a livestock
scientist desired to see the results of his research and development mission
endorsed by the previous and the sitting Chief Minister NWFP, the scientists,
veterinary practitioners, economists, academicians, subsistent &
commercial farmers, private investors and foreign missions, but which could
not be digested by the existing government setup. Hence
the four persons agreed on establishment of the PLE with the major objective of linkage of
science with farming and business, as a model for cost-effective livestock
production, maintaining international standards for the products, headed
towards establishment of an export base. A 200 + sheep has been established
and other enterprises are in planning stage. New partners are invited to join as applied researchers,
investors, farmers, product processors and exporters. |
